Is She gonna Do IT ! ?

Miss Oh Eun Sun had me gum sum at least for a while. Not that she has just humbled the deadliest known peak _ Nanga Parbat , the killer mountain _ from a new route but claims to have scaled 12 lethal Himalayan peaks above 8,000 meters altitude.

Though ‘The Dawn’ claims that the Korean daredevil is the first woman to have accomplished the feat, with Gerlinde Kaltenbrunne, 39, of Austria and Spain's Edurne Pasaban, 36, both of whom have reached the 12 highest Himalayan peaks, I have my doubts.

Taking nothing away, having scaled 4 monstrous Himalayan peaks last year, she started the current season with the same resolve and passion sweeping the Kanchenjunga, Dhaulagiri and Nanga Parbat in the relentless tide.

Oh My God! If it is not enough, never looking back she has her lusty eyes now set on Gashabrum I. She is due to commence her attempt on July 17th. Much in pursuit of her quest that dates backs to scaling of Gashabrum II in 1997, there are only a couple left out of the pack of 14.

Eun-Sun 43, is thus determined to accomplish the self imposed target and likely to become the first woman ever to do so by early 2010.

"I think I have a gene which makes me adventurous and enterprising. I admire Genghis Khan the most," No wonder.

"Mountains are the only thing that I long for. Meeting a new peak is similar to meeting a new boyfriend. I feel flustered, worried, and burdened until I go there..." Underlines much of the reason why she is still single and yet not ready to mingle.

"It's like an instinct for survival. Alone in the barren fields, a great fear falls on me. With my nerves on edge, the sense of vision, hearing and smell gradually develops. Also, I came to have an eye for people. I instinctively know in a matter of seconds whether the person in front of me is good or bad," So you better be careful and sober for your own sake when you confront her.

"Since there is no woman in the world who has climbed all 14 summits, I hope I will be the first," There comes the ultimate objective.

All the best and keep it up! Looking forward ( T )
