Here Comes Mr. Jordan* + Update

Posted: Sep 11, 2009 Fri 08:51 am     Views: 138    Interacts: 0

Today is the day Michael Jordan is being inducted in the Basketball Hall of Fame, and while there are plenty of videos and memories of his gliding across the basketball court, and/or slam dunking the ball, the way he and his good friend Charles Barkley greeted one another before the game began, and just about everything about him; I honor him with this video with Michael Jackson which is fun and adorable! I may not have rooted much, if ever, for the teams to which Michael Jordan was a valuable contributor, but hell man! It did not stop me from loving the beauty of him on the court. Should we be surprised that he is being honored this way, today? Not to have done so, would have been an ignominy.

Congratulations Mr. Jordan! As Bob Hope used to sing: "Thanks for the memories".

UPDATE: I managed to switch to ESPN just in time to watch the tribute to Michael Jordan. I had to change the channel, because first Michael's tears had my eyes brimming, but then the fool went off on what made him competitive in such a way I felt embarrassed for him and his family. He should have just been graceful with gratitude. While some of his stories made more than a few laugh, it stopped being funny real quick.

The credit for the title to this entry belongs to the 1941 Hollywood film, Here Comes Mr. Jordan, on which Warren Beatty based his 1970's film Heaven Can Wait.
