A Room of One's own

Posted: Oct 26, 2009 Mon 03:18 am     Views: 123    Interacts: 1

This is a very interesting read from Virginia Woolf. One of her most famous dictum comes from this book, for a woman to write fiction she must have a room of her own and money. Reading this got me thinking - does one need a room or a private space where one can sit and pen down things? A place which is inspiring and quiet - a sort of place where one can hide and work. And if you can't have that place, what do you do?
I am trying to find that place in my new surroundings. Somehow, the bathroom appears to be the one most quiet place. You might find this funny but bathrooms can be quite the hiding places. I've just started reading, 'Beautiful and Dmaned'by Scott Fitzgerald and the bathroom of the protagonist was given much importance.Whether it serves as a hiding place or not, I am yet to discover.
