When Shit Happens!

Posted: Sep 28, 2004 Tue 05:25 am     Views: 27

Shit Happens!. It has to happen. C’est la vida est. That is life. Things that you will sometimes mourn for years afterwards, just swoop in one day and rip a part of you out. It can be the loss of a lover, a friend, a family member. It could be your fault or it could be because you were the scape goat, but Shit Happens!

The only thing that comes to mind is, what do you do about it then? Hey, it’s happened. You’ve been fired. You’ve lost your lover. You’ve lost that potential business deal. Now what do you do, is up to you. You can’t go back. That’s for sure. So what do you do?

Many of us, infact i would say most of us, never let it go. Especially if it’s something that had really cut to the core. We spend years mourning the fact that had we had gotten something, or if so and so had happened, things would have been different. You’ve heard people blame those circumstances all the time. "If that back-stabbing b@#$$$d hadn’t gotten me fired, i would have been an executive director by now, instead of still being a manager here. I’m that good". "If my parents hadn’t forced me to get married, i would have been successfully running my own firm by now. They hurried too much". "If i hadn’t lost my lover to that S@#t, than i would have been happier".

Shit Happens! get used to it. Of course it’s going to hurt. We’ll not be humans, if it didn’t. The only thing is what do we do about it, when it happens. Do we sit down and curse the unfairness of life & become cynical about everything, forgetting who we are, what we are, and what we want just because we didn’t get something or do we look at it as an opportunity to learn something about life, thank God! for teaching us this lesson without which we could not have grown, and then slowly over time, conquer it at the least, if we can’t move on.

There is only one major difference between the winners and others and that is that one loses faith in themselves, whilst the other takes it as a stepping stone to something better. Both hurt. It’s just one hurts temporarily and then moves on, whilst the other hurts forever and doesn’t let go. Too bad they don’t realize that they hurt only themselves. No one else.

Remember, nothing happens in life without meaning. Everything happens for a reason. There are no coincidences in life. Every happiness must bring pain, and every pain must end in happiness. That is the ying and the yang of life, and no one can escape it. Not the king and not the slave. We’re here to learn, to grow, to fulfil who we are and our destiny. God! never lets you go through something which you cannot handle and when you look back at it, sometimes you do thank God! that you didn’t get what you want or sometimes you thank God! because you got something even better than what you could have ever imagined. The world is balanced. No good deed goes unrewarded, and no bad one goes unpunished.

Shit Happens! Live with it, grow because of it. Conquer it and find out what it means to be really human.
