So, we are in to a new year again. Every time we all face up with this new year thing, we all have these resolutions to make ourselves better; but I am sure none of us, bar the select few (very very few), live up to these resolutions. When the year ends we are still the same old person, or perhaps worse. Why is it that we don’t improve? Why are the moral standards going downhill? We do manage to struggle our way up through the material life - we somehow got that raise, we managed that extra furniture in the house, we finally got that new car, and a whole bunch of other achievements that made our material life better. But how have we improved ourselves as humans? Nothing I guess.
The year 2004 ended up in a sad note marked by the tsunami (unfortunately my last post, the whole lengthy one, got posted as a blank post so...). We all saw how weak we humans are, how easy it is for God to discard us, yet we never learn to realize that death is the ultimate goal of life. We continue to ignore death - how may of us really do believe that we are going to die one day? What have we done for that day? How will people remember us after we are gone? What shall our fate be? We simply don’t care. We don’t want to care.
