My kid is amazing, she enjoys hanging out with me, sleeping on top of my tummy and likes to have conversations. Right now she has developed an extensive vocabulary based on one word. Aughuoo. Depending on the time of the day or the moment Aughoo could mean a lot of things, lets see, Aughoo means can you pick me up. Or it could mean lets go outside. It all depends on the tone in which it is said. It never means feed me or change me because for that she has established other calls. Like ehehnn or shaking her haead and sucking on her hand and insisting loudly ehehnn. Now she already enjoys watching baby einstien and chuckles at the brown and yellow toy that is banging the drum. What amazes me is the connection these einstien series can make with a baby. Right now she is watching the seasons, before that it was the animals and she liked the Zebra and the girraffe, let us not forget the graceful Tiger. What is it about animals and children that they can connect with each other.

Aughoo also means that she is having a good day, it can also be a question like Aughoo?? Sometimes Aughoo is a sigh, Aughoo is also exasparation and occasionally Aughoo means hey dude get with the program. Aughoo with a smile is a private joke. Aughoo with laughter is life is good. I am fed and dipered and the temperature is to my liking. ughoo also means what happened? or Whaats hapenninng like Cheech would say. Aughoo means hey man can I get a burp? Or at times Aughoo simply means look at me Am I cute or what?

I feel sorry for fathers who stay at work all day and miss out on their childs early development. When fathers come home they are too tired to play with or observe their child. I am priviliged and blessed that I have the time to observe. Especially in our culture fathers are missing in childrens lives.
