An Appeal from a Pakistani to his fellow brothers and sisters…

Pakistan is the only country where in the zeal of new-found journalistic freedom, people forget what is right and what is wrong. Interviewing a young girl with weak mind trained for suicide bombings, who is openly calling for the so-called “Jiahd” on television and then letting her go free because she played with people emotions by saying that Korans were burning all around her, instead of making her go to jail for advocating terrorism and for allowing the Korans to be burned because of her refusal to come out and endangering the lives of children, or terrorists like Qazi Hussain Ahmed or other seminary teachers openly coming on TV to support Lal Masjid, or other politicians blaming the government for the massacre, even though enough time was given, and in the end action was rightfully taken, can only happen in Pakistan. Only in Pakistan, people still support the Lal Masjid fanatics and feel sorry for them. Only in Pakistan, people still blame the government for killing terrorists and not giving them safe haven, because they were Pakistanis. Only in Pakistan, MMA can call for 3 days of mourning for Lal Masjid terrorists, and not for the bomb blast victims. Before we blame everything on Musharaf; please stop and think.

These terroristic “jihadi-minded” sick people are everywhere. All they care about is power over people by hook or by crook. They come up with stupid arguments because they know that people in our country are gullible. They are naïve. Please make an example out of people like Qazi Hussain Ahmed, and Fazal-ur_Rehman so never again people like then and their followers have the will to corrupt the minds of others and spew their venom. They are nothing but terrorists who want nothing good for this country.

What the political leaders are asking us to do is to give in to these “Jihadis” and accept defeat so other innocent people don’t die. But do you really think these people will stop. They will keep killing the innocent people in our society in the name of religion. By giving in to them, they will rightfully gain more confidence and instead of 12000 seminaries, we will have 12,000,000 in no time. If one goes to Pakistan, one sees nothing but these jihadi elements on every corner of the street; and people like us who are educated do nothing about it. We are too busy in our own little world but one of these days we will have to wake up to these elements and by that time it will be too late. I don’t care about Musharaf or anyone else. I just care about Pakistan and Pakistan should never ever give up in its quest to quash these elements. The only way to stop them is to fight them head-on and not to give in to their demands no matter how much the pressure is from MMA. Even when a good thing is done for the people, MMA has a history of denying that and telling people that it is bad and is only being done on the behest of USA.

How long are we going to give in to these elements? Yes, out brothers, sisters, and children are being killed but it is not because of government’s policies (no matter which government). It is only because of terrorists like Qazi Hussain Ahmed and Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman and the support they provide to other Jihaidi fanatics.

Please people, wake up and realize that this problem will never go away by giving in and accepting defeat to avoid deaths of innocents. These terrorists will smell the victory. They will sit in a corner until the next time your brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers, and children will do something these elements will not like and they will attack again. Then they will blame it on some other person and we will again feel helpless. This is the time to stand up against these elements. Please don’t let Pakistan become another Afghanistan. I appeal to every person to please fight against these terrorist elements in our society. Please spread the true Islam and don’t let your children be influenced by these people.
