We may all not get along, but this must be done. This is becoming too unruly, and would appreciate everyone's help on this.

I have been trying to mend fences between friends privately, but that effort is too slow. I must just call out people right here right now.

4. Salim. You have been rightfully indignant in your anger at Choosta. However, choosta is not one that cares about hinduism. Your anger at choosta has resulted in a lot of bad mouthing and insulting of hinduism and hindus. Please apologize to the non-guilty. Also, I know you 're angry at Clifton for supporting chalta and his abuse, but could you please just say "kaha sunaa muaaf" and move on? You're like my brotha from anotha motha, and I cannot stand to see all this bullshit between you and clifton. For the sake of peace and friendship, would you please?"}

Harry Pi,
Thank you for trying to bring peace and harmony to Chowk. Not to be a GhuDDah pointer, but I am afraid that your quest is futile. People can offer meaningless apologies here, or even be apologists for their friend's profane behavior, but who will enforce the calm when there is no intention for some to "cease and desist." Let me offer some insight:

CHOOSTA:

This megalomaniac is fusing his Chowk antics with his off-Chowk shenanigans regardless of the privacy and honor of the individuals he drags into the Indian circus. He is merely interested in using whatever offense that comes to his deranged mind to offend people.

He originated this entire drama by initiating with the "Happy Moharram" greeting. This was supposed to be payback for my requesting Cliftonbridge not to drink on the occasion of Ashura. She went to drink with him, but did not consume alcohol, and he just had to get even with me. He then progressed to the Mo & Ayesha blasphemy and much worse.

No amount of rational discussion with this buffoon is going to be fruitful. The best approach would have been for Muslims and Pakis to shun him, but Cliftonbridge has precluded the use of this effective response. That is also my main complaint against her.

OTHER INDIANS (especially the innocent ones):

Do you know that right after Choosta's "Happy Muharram" greeting, I received several messages from Indians who offered apologies for his uniquely grotesque behavior? I was also appreciative of Anil, Kaal, MAJ, Cobra, and others for recognizing and condemning this ostensibly grown man's childish behavior. Of course, I had to retaliate and I did. Normally I have nothing against people worshipping Khuda, God, Yahweh, Hanuman, Ganesh, Ram, or anyone else. I don't care if you follow the God who spread the seas or the goddess who spread Choosta's cheeks.

My religious beliefs are a personal matter for me and I regard others' with the same courtesy. Now you can say that Choosta doesn't believe in Hinduism, but then that doesn't give him the license to insult Islam or any other religion. If he insists on calling everyone's mother a whore, just because his mother is OK with it, it will get him in a lot of trouble - a cold beer in his crotch, a punch in the nose, or a couple of bullets in the belly.

In retrospect, I am not happy about insulting the religious feelings of other Hindus, therefore I hereby apologize for any offensive remarks that I may have made. In the future, dear Hindu friends, please make your opposition to Choosta's behavior much more vocal and public to give me the reason not to retaliate against this fool.

ZEEMAX:

Zee's anger was quite different from mine. He perceived Cliftonbridge as a younger sister and therefore was somewhat protective, especially when she was going out to meet a married man over drinks.

Also, Zee sensed in Choosta a longing for a Muslim "trophy" and was incensed by that persistent Hindu ritual of going after Muslim women as some sort of grotesque retribution for the sins of Muslim conquerors. Apparently, this bizarre notion motivated the crazed mobs of BJP/RSS/VHP/BD/JS/SS/SP Hindu hate-mongrels in Gujarat.

I don't think that any human being should be considered a "trophy," and Cliftonbridge is certainly no "trophy."

Cliftonbridge:

I really used to admire this person as an intelligent and witty fellow Mohajir, Karachiite, Paki, Muslim. She initiated a friendship with me and I was frankly very impressed by her enthusiasm and passion for my beloved Karachi.

For some curious reason, she also chose to befriend Choosta and his alcoholic gang, who were already my most vocally abusive and angry enemies on Chowk. Following the "Happy Muharram" incident, I complained to her about being a pusillanimous fence-sitter in not putting Choosta in his place for his Mo & Ayesha vulgarity. When she chose to become Choosta's apologist, I helped her enhance her choice by terminating my "friendship" with her.

My disappointment with her is that while on other issues she is vehemently assertive against the slightest offense, when faced with Choosta's intense profanity against Our Holy Prophet (PBUH), she comes across as a subservient minion. Instead of being the Muslim "feminist" that I admired, she appeared as the obedient, prostrate mistress of a bully and an abuser.

I agree that everyone, especially Cliftonbridge, has a right to choose friends and to associate with their desired company. I also have the right to choose my friends and trust people I deem worthy of that trust.

I am ready to close this matter and perform "kaha suna maaf." I apologize for any words I have used that have offended her. I am not aware of any profanity that I have uttered to her.

Harry, good luck with your mission. Please don't hesitate to call me if I can be of any help in your noble goal.

And here are the posts from that thread concerning Cliftonbridge's offering Choostahai's Kashmiri misfortunes as yet another excuse for his abusive behavior. Talk about being an apologist or what?

OK here is my take. Chalta is kashmiri hindu and i dont know him too well but chances are his family probably left kashmir under bad conditions. TBC

LOL, that's not it Clifty. Kashmiri hindu is right but for two gens we were in Delhi. Little family there...otehr than half baked jingoistic claims for India, I don;t really give a fuck unless it is to needle pakis.

Which apparently is much more easier to do by just being friendly with them

Speaking of subservient behavior and being an apologist, Cliftonbridge in an OTW thread yesterday offered as an excuse that Choostahai and his family were Pandit refugees from Jammu & Kashmir. Thankfully, Choosta responded laughingly that his family had been in Delhi for much longer than that. Now this kind of ass-kissing is smooching above and beyond the call of duty.
