A friendly request: History of Karachi.

I'm wondering if anyone has information about the History of Karachi, I need to make a page for my work-site. Its actually exciting since we get to create a page for a "Home-Town Tour."

Street crime in Karachi is at a rate you could expect from cities of this size. Use common sense and avoid slums. Avoid going out alone, or in dark places. Never flash electronics or valuables in public. Street crimes occur much more frequently than robbing or purse snatching. Keep your cell phones, watches, purses in a safe place. These things easily attract attention. There are also conmen looking out for foreigners, so avoid them and keep on walking.

"Stay Safe"? (after 10 pm, only in Karachi)

If you are planning to see colonial public buildings, especially those that are located on MA Jinnah road or Preedy street, try to see them at late evening, after 10pm or at early morning, before 7am because traffic in those streets are a nightmare during the day time.

This one is the best...: "be at guard at all times."

The people of Karachi are very hospitable. They tend to welcome any foreigner very warmly but be at guard at all times.
