Finally Bambi agrees to one thing I've said.
As for the center of knowledge, ever wonder why you don't encounter muslims named "judhamah"?
The person named Aukhabutt needs a new purpose in life, how about we give him one this Eid? ;)

Using condoms or any other forms of contraceptives is haram as seen by most scholars{of course some exceptions are there},it contradicts the commandments of the prophet who instructed the muslims to marry and to multiply for this will give him the pride against other nations on the judgment day.
Look at this Hadeeth:
According to Judhamah bint Wahb, "I was there when the Prophet (pbuh) was with a group saying, "I was about to prohibit the ghila (intercourse with a woman in lactation) but I observed the Byzantines and the Persians, and saw them do it, and their children were not harmed.' They asked him about coitus interruptus, and the Prophet (pbuh) replied, 'It is a hidden infanticide . . .'

Allah says: "Kill not your children because of poverty - We provide sustenance for you and for them" (al-Anaam 151)
Allah also says: "And kill not your children for fear of poverty. We shall provide for them as well as for you. Surely, the killing of them is a great sin" (al-Isra 31)
The above talks of aborting foetuses ONCE conceived out of fear of providing for them.
It does not forbid aborting in case the mother's health is at risk. Also, it does not stop you from using contraception to stop conceiving in the first place. Although it is clearly stated in ahadees that no matter how well you use contraception, if the birth of a child is written by Allah it will happen. Just like you lock your car but still trust in God/Allah to protect it.

"P...ss me off"
This pet word is fashionable amongst women these days.
For upright men to 'p...ss' off is easy, for women to attempt the same is a dangerous activity.

What pisses me off is when you see a new item reporting - aik kamanay wala aur das khanay walay thay - one earning member and ten people depending on him.
a. Why didnt they plan their family better?
b. Most of these dependents are "women of marrigable age" - as per local lingo. Whats stopping them from earning their own living and helping out their family?

It is beautiful because companionship is a requirement of every living soul...and it is good, as evidenced by the captions next to the photos, that people are strong enough to go away from the baradri system with its unrelaistic expectations on what a marriage should be. It is also beautiful because normally you hear of Muslim mass weddings, and people dont give a thought to the plight of the minorities who may suffer from lack of resources as well.
Regarding kids and the number of them - I agree with your comments...

I wonder if these 42 couples were told to wait a couple years before they thought of having children, if they were told to think out finances, schooling and upbringing in general, if they were advised to not have more children than they could cater for.
I don't feel sad when I see an old couple with 9 or 10 children outside press clubs threatening to sell them, who told them to copy rabbits in the first place?
Nikkah naamas should have estimated costs per year per child so eager couples should know better than calling in the stork every alternate year.

Is it beautiful because the people in question are a minority?
