ZahraJ’s Proposals

Posted: Apr 7, 2004 Wed 10:06 pm     Views: 35

Well, I have been reading ZahraJ’s i-logs recently. She comes across as a very focused, intelligent, disciplined, and hardworking individual. All in all, she also seems like a nice person to get to know. However, that makes it all the more surprising that the ’boys’ she has been introduced to, or has met, for the purpose of marriage have pretty much all, without exception, fit the worst possible stereo-type of Pakistani men.

I, for one, can say this that while Pakistani men are not perfect, they are no worse than men from other countries. I have come across some extremely nice, considerate, confident, and mature pakistan men who I would truly call ’gentlemen’. This leaves me wondering if perhaps ZahraJ’s channels through which these boys get introduced need to be addressed :) Or perhaps she needs to look for goodness in those men, rather than narrowly focusing on their shortcomings.

ZahraJ, i know its none of my business to meddle in. But since you post your thoughts on a public domain, it means the reader can take the liberty to meddle.

if you are reading this post, I was curious to know if there ever was a proposal from a pakistani man that you rejected, but now on second thoughts, you think he was a good enough person. In other words, any regrets for rejecting some of the proposals?

If that has not happened, have you come accross any pakistani man who impressed you with their ’gentlemanly’ behaviour. I am referring to an i-log you wrote upon your return from Pakistan where some american guy helped pull your luggage from the overhead compartment of plane and your thinking was "no pakistani man could be considerate enough to do that".

Of course, just like i as the reader of your i-logs took the liberty to ask these questions, you of course have the right to ignore them :) and i am sorry if i said anything i shouldn’t have.

nevertheless, your i-logs are a good read.
