its been a bad day rem

12th May would be remembered as the Nation’s support to our Extended Chief Justice. What an Extension. Keeping in view our country’s history, I think it requires a lot of courage going against the Government, I am talking about lawyers in general, and the ones who are close to CJ in particular. The reason why I am calling them brave is that most of them belong to Eastern Punjab, and they were actually the ones who fought our Independance War. So they kind of know how to resist and sacrifice. The rest of the regions Frontier,Sindh, Balauchistan etc were never in the front-lines in 1947. Having said that I am not degrading the lawyers community of other regions. Everyone has played their role, but I am just referring to those lawyers who are having a close association with CJ these days.

Problem with President Musharraf is that when he tries to be different, he just can not sustain it, I mean he gave a lot of freedom to the press (I would always give him credit for that) and thn when the Press feels stronger, he has issues with them. Its like when you are Isolated and you know it but you’re just pretending as if nothing has happened. Moreover, the President is not some extinct specie, he is from us, keeping in view our Media’s Policy from the last Four Decades, one would’ve never imagined such a High Jump from the lowest energy level to the highest energy level and nothing in between. President gave our Media ’wings’ so the bird did’nt go any testing period, it just started flying. This is what is happening. Moreover The News Networks rapidly developed because of 9/11 and because Pakistan is and was the Front line State in war against terror so it was almost within the grasp of our media personals to get information quickly. It is also directly proportional to the Tolerance of the general public. Because the public was always immature before, they somehow started reacting after watching the Live Coverages. To some extent it did effect the Fundamentalists.
