Food glorious food!

I've not only no talent for cooking, I have no interest in it either. To spend simply ages creating something which will be consumed within a few minutes is, for me, a waste of time when I could be doing something more interesting such as reading. My cooking effort magnum opus is the making of an omelette. Otherwise, apart from adding a bit of curry powder to my baked beans on toast, everything else is either boiled vegetables or comes pre-cooked in tins or packets which can be warmed up on the hob or in the oven. However, having said that, I do enjoy good food if it's prepared by someone other than myself, like in a restaurant. But I do so much miss my late mum's recipes. A particular favourite of mine was a curry consisting of potatoes, cauliflower (top of my veg league), onions and peas. Consumed with parathas on the side this was simply sublime. I have tried to re-create it myself, but it's so far short of what I remember that it's almost a travesty, though still very eatable. Crikey, now I've started my own tummy rumbling. Must go and munch on a few sunflower seeds!
