This thing called 'criminal investigation'...

Posted: Dec 28, 2007 Fri 11:32 am     Views: 193    Interacts: 0

I like the way CNN is reporting on potential suspects behind the killing of Bhutto - "The US and Pakistani governments have agreed that this assassination was the work of Al-qaeda extremists."

Yep, life is difficult as it is. Why complicate it further by conducting a good old "criminal investigation" when you already have al-qaeda! Imagine the complications that might arise if, say, elements in army were found to be behind the killing. Army already has much pakistani blood on its hands, so one more killing wouldnt be entirely out of order. But that would require much re-scripting of the story of "war on terror" in Islamabad, Washington DC and London. And as it is, the writers in hollywood are still on strike.

"Criminal investigation" is an idea which has lost its luster. Its not entirely far fetched that police in Boston will now be reaching "agreements" with DAs regarding murder suspects, instead of keeping us under the suspense of "whodunit" for months and possibly years.

Asking for "criminal investigation" is now so pre 9/11. Get with the program already!
