Wazaif saved Arbab Rahim

Posted: Apr 14, 2008 Mon 05:07 am     Views: 454    Interacts: 3

This Dailytimes news has got to be the funniest news of the week.

According to this report published on April 13th, Former Sindh chief minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim said on Saturday that he would have supported sacked chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, in spite of President Pervez Musharraf’s resentment, had he considered the sacked justice better for Islam and the country. Talking to Geo TV, Rahim said that politics is a “dirty game” and the statements of his opponents could not go without comment despite Maulana Tariq Jameel advising him to keep silent. He denied that he had mistreated Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) workers during his tenure, saying that he had resolved the “canal issue” between Mumtaz Bhutto and slain PPP chairwoman Benazir Bhutto according to the wishes of the latter. On terming women as nahusat (jinx), he said he had meant it as a joke in light of a Hadith, adding that he did not know the real meaning of the word, as he was not well versed in Urdu. He said God had saved him from being hit by a shoe thrown at him from the visitors’ gallery in the Sindh Assembly because he had recited special tasbihat (hymns) and wazaif before going to the House.

Now thats what you call hilarious

He didnt say that the wazaif saved him. You are merging two statements. He said he recited wazaif before going to the assembly because he feared that he would be attacked. And he said Allah Ka Shukar wo jota mujhe laga nai aur mai bach gaya.

Thanks for seeing at-least this bit of light.

He also said that the real intentions of PPP workers were to wrap his own shalwar over his head and make him dance in the Sindh Assembly's corridor :) To me it sounds like some hidden fantacies of Wazeer-e-A'ala
