"Tigress" rules the red carpet at Cannes

The jewel of the Cannes, Angelina Jolie stole the show at the film festival yet again. She stunned the crowd and media as much with her presence as with the confirmation that she is having twins.

The couple is all set to add twins to the “global” family comprising a biological daughter, a Cambodian, a Vietnamese and an Ethopian child all under the age of six. France is the most likely place of birth for the twins expected around August 19th.

She was present at the premiere of her new animated film “Kung Fu Panda”. Set in China, she said that she was delighted to make an Asian inspired film that would appeal to her two eldest children that also happen to be her worst critics. Jolie voices the tigress in the movie and asserted that every woman in some way was a tigress or wanted one to be. (Not a good news for Brad but she denied having an overwhelming influence over her partner.)

Widely acknowledged for her humanitarian work and named as goodwill ambassador by UNHCR, she has traveled extensively to most of the troubled parts of the world including Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Sudan and Kenya to have the first hand account of the situation particularly with regards to the displaced refugees. She is known to magnanimously launch as well as donate and fund many endeavours and initiatives aimed at dispensing better humanitarian services. “Pitted” against tough odds, in recognition of her efforts, amongst others, Jolie has earned the “Citizen of the world award” and “Global humanitarian award” so far.

During her press conference at Cannes, Angelina Jolie also voiced her concern for victims of cyclone in Burma and the earthquake in China.
