Ancestrally Bahawalpuri, I am a Pakistani-American working in a small private college as an economics instructor. Am now living in Lugano Switzerland where my own version of publish or perish unfolds. Am the father of a small, but growing family. Had an international childhood -- born in Turkey and lived in in Brazil, South Korea, Thailand, and Indonesia. Studied at the Karachi American School in 1975. Enjoyed Pakistan in the seventies and eighties during many long summer vacations and would like to continue to write on themes connected to personal memory and the Pakistani diaspora.
Random Thoughts: A minor art collector, I am interested in contemporary art from Pakistan that is identifiably Pakistani on a very subjective level. Am the owner of two works on paper by Shahzia Sikander -- Land Escape Series 3 nos 1 & 9.

Am fascinated by history, economics, and the formation of social systems. I teach a class in Lugano on growth and distribution which I see as a collective discussion on the origins and shapes of all social hierarchies.

Would like, one day, to live behind low mud walls, in a white bungalow with luxuriant garden, somewhere riverside in Dera Ismail Khan.
