Umer Murtaza

I am an artist who also works as a pharmacist to supplement his income. I have produced works for individuals, scientific institutions, banks and charitable ventures. Though unpublished, I also dabble in writing.

I am involved with researching and developing a form of Islamic Art that is 'Information Heavy'. This form of art, whilst preserving the traditional facets of Islamic Art, does not come in a particular style. It is dictated by the idea.

I am of the belief that the Muslim artist must come out from the role of an artisan and be recognised as a key contributive member of society. In order for that to occur, the artist must strive to become multi-disciplined.
