Random Thoughts: Athar Osama is a Doctoral Fellow at the Frederick S. Pardee RAND Graduate School for Policy Studies in Santa Monica, CA. Athar specializes in Science and Technology and Innovation Policy, Economic Development and everything in between. He is also the Founder of the Virtual Think Tank Pakistan (VTTP) and Pakistan Research Support Network (PRSN). He has written widely, including peer reviewed journals articles and papers, Op-Eds in Pakistani Newspapers (The News, 1992-1995) and the Daily Dawn (2003-) and other trade publications, and on Chowk since 2003. Athar holds a B.S. in aeronautical engineering from College of Aeronautical Engineering, Pakistan Airforce Academy, a PGD in Business Administration from IBA-Karachi, and an PhD in Policy Analysis (pending defense).
