I am professor emeritus of geography at Kent State University in Norhteastern Ohio, USA. Childhood days were spent in present day Pakistan (the western districts of British Punjab). After 1947 lived in the Indian section of Punjab. Came to the United States in 1962.
Random Thoughts: I retired from teaching in 2004. These days I am participating in interfaith activities, trying to develop understanding between different faiths, by understanding their perspectives. I wish people should explore their own faith traditions more critically. I would also like to interact with people who are willing to ask and answer hard questions about their faith traditions, and are willing to honestly acknowledge what injury, insult, or injustice believers of their faith have done to others through history. That alone can lead to honest communication and lasting peace. I am for truth and reconciliation, somewhat like happened in South Africa. I think they honestly faced their terrible past and are willing to build a better common future. Difficult, but necessary in my view.
