Godot, One more question, are you the editor in chief`s spokeperson? If your spokespersonship is totally voluntary, I think she can take care of herself and speak for herself. ``}

Scout,
If I recall, under the old regime, you were certainly going around bragging about your ``special`` relationship with Chowk Management and Staff - often speaking for them and threatening to get people banned. I think there was a post from you to Burpy where you boasted about having many Chowkies expelled from Chowk. Funny, how you own rules of interaction don`t seem to apply to you. Do you understand why you are hated so much by so many?

Scout #166 {``Whatever Samina has said she has said in retaliation. How would you feel if ONE single interactor plastered your picture all over Chowk (without your knowledge or permission) and made disparaging comments about it? Salim_Chauhan and gujju aka Ranger did this to both Samina and Sobia... Sobia had started ignoring him and he posted something about how her hymenoplasty surgery went in Lahore, without any provocation. ``}

Scout,
I was trying to avoid exchanging insults with you, but with your continuous lies and twisting of facts, you leave me no choice but to correct you, over and over. Saminasha does more than retaliation, just like you, she instigates with unprovoked such as ``Beeyatch and namard.`` I was not the one who posted pictures of Saminasha and Sobia. Other people did that from public websites that were not protected by passwords or copyrights. So, you are lying - Gujju can validate your blatant attempt to spread falsehood here. Also, I never mentioned Sobia by name in the thread I started about a girl in Chicago recovering from an operation. You are the one to associate Sobia with that thread.

Now, the most important issue concerning you. Did you not start a thread and call the Holy Prophet (PBUH) a ? Are you proud of that accomplishment? Was that not a stupid, insensitive, unethical, offensive, idiotic, and tasteless action on your part?

I have resolved not to interact on Chowk UP because the constant bickering and exchange of insults with you and your gang is getting boring and very unproductive. I do caution you, however, that should you engage in further blasphemy, incessant falsehoods, or personal attacks on me, I will return to Chowk UP and give you ten-fold in retaliation as I have always done, to your chagrin. Flatulence will cease to be your top problem.

When we develop a website, you can be sure you`ll never step foot on it. ``}

Saminasha,
With that attitude, why do you wonder when you are passed over for the important job of Editor? There is not a single ounce of objectivity, fairness, and logic in your massively overweight body. If you develop a website, or by some quirk of nepotism, you are appointed Chowk Editor, make sure you tell us all, so that we can avoid you like the plague. That is exactly what you want, so you can be ``andhoN meN kaani raani.`` That`s the only way for you to win all your debates.

Isn`t orangpeko another nic used by Sadna? And she has the nerve to complain about other people`s multiple nicks?

I am caught between two issues that are not even remotely related to each other - Veeresh/Omar/Kaka debate on Farzana`s invisibility and the polite yet lively discussion among Samina/Godot/Sadna/Scout/Mannyd on the propriety of making Salim invisible forever. :)

We have a highly visible and well-renowned editor of a thriving Karachi bird cage flooring advocating invisibility for a Chowk editor. We have a food-tasting Ibn Batuta from Air India, taking time off from his desire to turn Lahore into a combination of Bangkok and Singapore, talking about the eminence and journalistic stature of the Dawn fortnightly. I rate a newspaper`s frequency by the number of days it takes the paper to come up with relevant and unbiased news. Then we have Kaka, meddling for no reason, other than to remind the visible and intelligent editor of the Karachi daily about personality issues and problems with the Chowk Editor had not even Dawned on him to this point.

I think the best course of action, like the wise and horny bear, is to be patient. Let the hunter expose himself and then BAM. As for the Dawn editor, may he bask in the knowledge that of the 8 million parakeets and parrots responding to a Hindustan Times survey, voted his daily as the preferred floor covering for most two-legged creatures. Yes, the ones with the feathers and not the ones who are too dumb to fly, and then if they do, write incessantly about the bad food they ate while flying. As for Kaka, all I can say is that when you take Khamkhwa and remove all the irrelevant, meaningless, and surplus letters, indicating pure bullshit and hot air, you are left with just kaka.

For the moment, I have a reputation to protect and so I will join my friends, Godot and Mannyd in responding to the falsehoods fermented by the flatulent feminazis.

also, mr haramzaad, i think you need to read (if you must) my ilog more carefully if you want to comment on writing anonymous editorials -- they are anonymous for a reason in any case -- obviously lost on those who run this site

no you moron (aka hamzaad) -- someone who has been teaching maths for 12 years and has been doing a reasonably okay job at it would be someone i would want to hear advice on how to teach math if i were just starting off -- only a maha moron like you would compare Dawn to chowk and call the former a `rag` -- as would many others here i am sure (but then they aren`t know for being big admirers of anything pakistani) --

veeresh -- i am afraid your comments dont count for two reasons -- bad timing and the sheer vindictiveness of your tone (bay chara uncle) and two, anyone who review air line food is not qualified to comment on the pakistani print media -- and btw you are not really helping your cause by writing such drivel here in any case -- but it`s the same rag isnt it to which you recently emailed a letter to? isn`t it, again referring to your silly and facetious arguments on the print media in pakistan and india? you need to grow up unkill jee --

and btw how quickly you forget the email that you sent me seeking help for Indian POWs allegedly held by Pakistani authorities -- strange that you would send that to someone you don`t consider a journalist
or wait, all this here on this board is part of your act , or was the email as an act -- what is it unkill jee, i am confused now

and i dont know about this indian journo, but editors are meant to be invisible for a reason -- which i think goes beyond the morons on this website -- and trust me shri veeresh/haramzaad jee -- it`s got nothing to do with being ``jealous`` -- i think someone who reviews airline meals should be jealous actually of quality sites such as this -- as for mr bahal i have no inclination to judge what he does or does not do on chowk and dont frankly care if he chooses not to have an opinion --

there r morons and then there are morons

Sweet :)

The Greatest Insult to a Man

Men are confused. Very, very confused. They have no clue about their societal role. Are they supposed to be tough and macho or sweet and caring?

When 2,000 men in 13 countries were grilled by the Chicago ad agency Leo Burnett with a bunch of survey questions in the ``2005 Man Study,`` it was easy to see that males worldwide fell into one of four categories, depending on their personality, life goals and daily work:

1. Metros
2. Retros
3. Patriarchs
4. Power-seekers

The study concluded that we are now witnessing a new experience of male insecurity and confusion, report The New York Post and Brand Republic. That said, men`s sense of what`s offensive has certainly become more sensitive than in previous generations. Nearly 75 percent said one of these three statements was the greatest insult someone could throw at them:

* 29 percent say: ``He`ll never amount to anything.``
* 24 percent say: ``Everyone laughs behind your back.``
* 21 percent say: ``You`re stupid.``

Some surprising findings:

* Just over half of the men surveyed said their role in society is unclear. Frenchmen are the most confused at 64 percent, while Indian men are the least confused at 36 percent. Half of American men are confused.
* 10 percent of men of all ages think their role in society is becoming less dominant.
* 73 percent of men prefer to have a job that they love versus a job that pays well.

The ultimate male fantasies were ranked in this (surprising) order:

1. End world hunger.
2. Be a world famous sports star.
3. Marry a supermodel.

What is the cause of this global identity crisis? The study authors blame it on the rise of feminism and empowered women in the workplace.

The study findings were reported at the Cannes International Advertising Festival.

Dear Farzana Versey
Editor-in-chief
chowk.com
I am just surprised to read this post by one of the interactors, just have a look,

{{{{{i think i am slightly more qualified than most other people here to tell you that the editor should be invisible}}}}}}

I am just speechless on this sentence, and esp. coming from someone who claims to be a big journalist and writer. In my point of view, writers and jouranlists are much more sensitive and matured LOTS than most of us COMMONERS, but, seeing this response makes me feel , i am wrong, NOT all of them are!!!!!!!

I believe all of us chowkies are equal regardless of any personal qualifications. If, I am a big shot, that doesn`t make me superior to others. All of us come to this web site with the mindset that we are going to a web site , which will not see us as distinguished from others.
What makes us DISTINGUISHED is how we interact with each other, how we respect eachother`s rights to interact on equal grounds , while keeping in mind that each and every one of us is as much important for this web site as CHIEF EDITOR herself is or any other writer or jouranlist is!!!! We are the ones , who make chowk!!!! We are the ones, who make a difference!!!!!

Each and everyone of us has his/her own unique opinion which is being respected and responded with out any bias

If, we go by qualifications ,then i am quite sure that my respectful writer friend, who mentioned his qualifications and who demanded a superior treatment(( based on his qualifications)) from you for having more right to order you to change your VISIBILITY in to INVISIBILITY ,will be far far far behind in this LINE of all qualified chowkies................

So, again Farzana dear
Invisible editor, my foot. Yes, invisible editor, my foot, too.....................

Take care
Sincerely
Zeena

I wasn`t asking for censoring, I was complaining about selective censoring. The purpose of rules is to encourage more people to post not to give protection or justification to one`s favorite posters who post abusive posts but can`t handle replies to them particularly from women. In any case, most women who posted before no longer do on UP or FP so you already have your wish.

Re: # 169

`i think i am slightly more qualified than most other people here to tell you that the editor should be invisible`

Your argument hinges on the logic that you would care to listen to only an individual whose experience and education is at par (or more) with yours. Let kaka find an idiot like that who, incidentally, believes the opposite of what you think and then let you two monkeys fight it out..

In the meantime, let kaka disclose what is at the heart of your `advice`.. The rag that was founded by an aloof Jinnah, printing in a language that is the vehicle of the gentry is being overtaken by the realities of technology while you invest your time and brains writing anonymous editiorials which make a dick of a difference everyday. This website mixes the sensiblities of the vernaculars with the compulsions of technology in the only way that it can be done and you want a piece of it. The best you could come up is lame and Versey is so kamini that she won`t even print your name while mocking you.

If it is any consolation, saminasha is burning like hell too. She has already accepted an offer to be the editor for a month while demanding royalties for teaching words like `diaspora` and `namard` to this website. kaka, in turn, has copyrighted his nomenclature for Pinkie, Twinkie and Bushra.

Re: # 169, Omar says that . . . ````i think i am slightly more qualified than most other people here to tell you that the editor should be invisible```` .. .. .. while I don`t want to go into your qualifications or lack of thereof, I think most anybody who does not have to work under the yoke of a dictatorship is more qualified than you to tell you that your viewpoint that the editor should be invisible is simply your viewpoint and nothing to do with your eminent status as a journalist or authority therein.

You want to compare yourself with journalists? Benchmark yourself against Aniruddha Bahal, who, incidentally, is a chowk writer too but doesn`t go around insisting that everybody needs to exist in some sort ``world according to Garp`` kind of undertow.

Chowk was and will continue to evolve dynamically. Why do you have a problem with something as simple and factual as change, Omar?

Sadhna Ji # 165: Thanks for your response. Just from reading your first paragraph, I understand that Salim or chowkies like me, who support his arguments, have not broken any rules and laws of Chowk UP. So far so good.

In your second paragraph, you go back to #141, which is a compilation of posts from UP. It seems that you do not like the rules of UP. If so, why go there? Stay on FP. If a female does go there, she should be prepared to forego the role of dainty damsel in distress. Just look at Zeena flaying Hamzad, who is singing Hail Maries non stop but loving every minute of it....LOL.

From what I have gathered so far, there have been no violations by Salim or his sick supporters on FP. Actually on FP Samina has called me Beeyatch and told me to change my political views, Zahra has called me Sicko and prescribed change of religion for my wife and all I have done is bleat meekly about Feministas.

You said `His filthy posts have that way of exposing the hypocrisy and misogyny of other posters.` So they do some good.

Again, you say `So the women he targets (most woman posters on chowk ) lose all respect for those who back him when he does so.`

If Chowki women`s respect is so fickle that an innocent man, who broke no UP laws, must be thrown to a female lynch mob, it is not worth the cost to me.

` Anyone can correct me if I am wrong but finally virtually no woman wants to interact here. Why complain because I point this out?`

I would hate to see anyone leave, specially you. You have been always polite, a good interactor and an excellent debator.

I am complaining because I do not like censorship and if a corner( UP) is left without moderators, it serves as a relief vent for people, who must behave like that. It definitely is not a complaint against you.
