The Invisible Editor, My Foot!

i wish the editor of this website would refer to me by name when she talks about what i said -- never claimed to be an `authority` on journalism ms versey -- but i think being in this profession since 1993 (with a one-year break for my master`s), having been a reporter for five years, editorial writer for five years, and written hundreds, if not thousands, of reports, stories, features, interviews, comment pieces and of course editorials, and worked in the news room, on the letters to the editor section and on the weekly magazine sections, among other things, i think i am slightly more qualified than most other people here to tell you that the editor should be invisible -- the best you could come up with to discount the opinion of such authorities was to say that they should stop looking through `pigeon holes` -- tch tch

and yes this isnt a news site and shouldnt pretend to be one -- asking NFP to `go out` and file a report is not the same as a reporter in a newspaper doing it as part of his or her beat

in any case, the founders of this site have always claimed that this was a labour of love and done by people who did other things -- which leads me to wonder whether the editor is now a paid position or not?

Ignore function works only if the guy doesn`t use multiple nicks which he does. Yes, there is no law, Salim Chauhan(or substitute the name of any other poster) can post what he likes - he can also argue that he posts that filth to enforce morality on women posters on any occasion which he chooses. chowkies like you can support his arguments that he is justified to post filth to make women posters behave.

But, from the content of such posts of his(like the one in #141), it is clear to me that both he and his supporters are pretty sick people. chowk community is unrealistic to expect that women posters will come to chowk to read a daily dose of vile posts about themselves by a person who makes it a full time job to deal out his `punishment` to them.

If the women do ever reply back to him in the same language he uses for them, they get vilified even more for being females and using language like his. His filthy posts have that way of exposing the hypocrisy and misogyny of other posters. So the women he targets (most woman posters on chowk ) lose all respect for those who back him when he does so. Anyone can correct me if I am wrong but finally virtually no woman wants to interact here. Why complain because I point this out?
