The Invisible Editor, My Foot!

Why have my articles critical of the inhumanity of the US elite, and I have submitted several been censored without giving me any reason? I see a pattern here with pro US article after pro US article and no toleration of dissent.

What does that passage mean? Seriously, its incomprehensible.

Unless you mean that your stance on having a writer on Chowk.com who is unabashedly and unashamedly a feminist is compromised. As it seems the one writer who did not have issues with identifying heself as a feminist is no longer featured as a columnist on Chowk, nor is any mention made of this erasure, I find this discussion particularly peculiar.

What`s more, can you and the editors at chowk.com explain to us how you have used certain themes-such as ``diaspora``, pop cultural analysis, and women writers named Joan Didion-and not asked writers who introduced them to this website and wrote about them ad nauseum to write about them....Could you talk about the appropriation of ideas and perspectives that are not yours, but copied, and presented with little real understanding of them? To me, these actions denote a lack of ethics and vision.

And before you crow about UP, you`ll find the multi nics who have supported you in the past still at work, while the rest of us watch. Its the usual passive female acceptance that Chowk.com has turned into a spectator sport.

and for Gods sake can you change Front page format...make it more subtle..

and i did not know that when we unpluggy chats, write crap, hurl abuses to each other...u keep an eye on us..like a God mother. You sometime smiles on our childish approches and sometime gets pissed of on the profanity that we utter..

Now that i have called u the God mother of chowk..lemme prepare myself to face my fellow chowkies on UP ;)

chowk is getting loud, jhangli, arrogant and sexier everyday- change shoved down collective throats is so much fun to watch

Yeah right. Someone did take the trouble to ban me when I mentioned chowk staff in one of my posts.

I don`t know about other posters, but if you are talking about me- when chowk staff`s friends get to say anything about me but I get banned or my posts censured for replying to them, for your information that is the absolutely the wrong way to make me to walk away.

A general comment - being an editor is or ought to be different from being a writer in one key way - being a writer you can consider yourself victim of readers and take your shots at them. An editor`s job I would imagine, is more to encourage readers and writers, and less to complain about them.

Are you the editor`s spokesman here ? You are trying to intimidate me for replying to specific points in her article. If she doesn`t want replies to her points, why is this article published with an interact space? If the article is indeed published as seen above, why are you using perjorative language about me implying that I shouldn`t be replying to it? Make up your minds - either remove the interact space for editorials or stop harrassing interactors for replying to them.

This is not just about me. One can see with one`s own eyes on another thread, a `multiple` nick created to harass an apparently privileged member of chowk removed as soon as a single post was posted, while a `multiple` nick created to harass women interactors continues to do so in the vilest possible language. Intimidating posters for bringing it up can`t change the visible reality.

Thanks for choosing my dynamic to be the chowkuote of your editorial. I didn`t beleive that you considered me a big writter to select me for your editorial. Very non writter person, that I am, I tried to read your articles in the past, always ended up with headache. I tried again and again to get hold on your main themes ,but, failed. So, I gave up. Either, your articles were way high for my lil brain or my brian was too, high for your articles to fit in to.

When, you became editor-in-chief, it was a surprise for me. I won`t say ,``a good one``, esp. when I read your first echo, I got disappointed, where you seemed like not caring for other sections of chowk exculsively un-plugged, as if, that portion doesn`t fit in to your personality, all you cared for was front-page.......That was enough to piss me off. So, as retaliation I wrote , what I wrote for you to make you feel, and again I am saying, loud,``No, my dear Farzana, you`re wrong, you`re chief editor of whole chowk, not only Front page, interactors who come to unplugged, they are people just like who interact on front page, may be more intellectual and more intelligent, you should better start taking care of un plugged as much as you take care of front page.`` That was and is my whole notion. If, you like it, good, if you don`t be my guest.

Now, I read few of your editorials and a recent article. I observed a wast difference in your writting style, again, either it was my perception or it was some good and sensitive change in your style, that I started liking your editorials day after day after day.......And, look where I am now, again reading your editorial and got trapped and am typing this OOL JALOOL letter . Again, I must say, I felt this is editorail for all of us COMMONERS.........that is the beauty of it..........

Now, some people like you invisible, that is the most hilarious thing I heard and if you remember, I posted on Un plugged in reply to that , how I feel you guys being invisible?

At the end, do what you do, but, keep one thing in mind , you are not only a common humanbeing, but, a chief editor of a web site, all of us love. So, you have a big responsibility of keeping this site, less OOL JALOOL by keeping an eye on UN PLUGGED as well.......................Thanks for your editorial, keep up the good work.
