It’s unfair to label Salim as the one who harasses women. There are many women at Chowk and Salim has shown a lot of respect for them. The question to ask, scout, is why has Salim targeted a handful of people for his graphic language? Is he the only one guilty and those he is attacking innocent? Why single him out? Why should he be the only one on trial?

The UP at chaathouse is just a chat room, and only maybe 10 people are active there. Leave them alone and let them be. As a saying goes in Urdu, what goes of your father. If you want to start a serious discussion, there are other tabs, such as leafyglade inn and civic center. Start your discussion there and let the chaathouse be what its name implies: a chaathouse.

As for what the future plan is for overall Chowk and its FP articles, I’ve no idea. Only the Editor and the Publishers know that. But so far I like Chowk better than what it used to be a month ago.

Scout, Saminasha, and Khamkhwa have been complaining about harassment of women, use of abusive language, and multiple nicks for some time now. When I visited Chowk UP for the first time back in July of 2004, I was appalled by Scout`s use of misspelled varations of the English vernacular for fornication. She uses fuk, WTF, fukking, not to mention different forms of naming the posterior, and her habit of referring to men she doesn`t like as ``namards.`` I learned to use multiple nicks from the very people who are complaining about them now. Trmntr_x, Anti-moron, pakihunk, and numerouos other nicks are the clones of these very miscreants. As for profanity, just look at this board and you will see Saminasha saying:

Of course I am against the harassment of women (and men) on Chowk or anywhere else. But when some ``women`` instigate profanity, vulgarity, and sexually degrading obscenities, it is difficult not to retaliate. Scout is notorious for demeaning men. Here are some examples:

Scout opened a thread and complained about the length of Richard Grere`s penis.
Scout insulted the Holy Prophet (PBUH) by calling him a pedophile and a pervert.
Scout discussed in length with Dr. Raka her own problem with uncontrolled flatulence.
Scout calls every other male opponent a ``namard.`` She has even taught Saminasha this word and now the too use this without any regard for the location - UP or FP.
Scout, Khamkhwa, and Saminasha have said horrible and sexually abusive things about my wife, my mother, and my dead grandmother.

I have decided, thanks to advice from many friends, including Godot, that I will concentrate my efforts on FP and restore UP back to Scout. She can now wade through the sewage of UP, in total freedom, without concern for retaliation as in the good old days. I will request, however, that your staff monitor FP for their filth and take immediate and stern action against their lewd behavior. You can start by banning Saminsha for her post

Thank you for being so understanding. This one-sided and malicious misrepresentation by Khamkhwa is characteristic of his routine behavior. He loves to start fights, harass people by abusing them and their families, and then when on the receiving end of abuse, he copies and pastes the one-sided rhetoric to further malign his victim.

I do not plan to participate in UP nonsense and request that Khamkhwa and his gang of miscreants stay away from me on FP. There is no need for the exchange of any ideas with this semi-literate bunch.

Why are people not sticking to Chowk guidelines? You have been given the choice to put people on `Ignore` if you feel you do not wish to interact with them.

The other new option set up is to play the role of vigilant. If you feel that the guidelines are being ignored/abused, write with specifics to http://www.chowk.com/paint_feedback_form.cgi. One hopes that this forum too is used with prudence and maturity.
