Farzana Bibi,
This title of yours is a blasphemy to Sikh`s daily Ardaas.

``Raj Karega Khalsa Akeey(dissatisfied) rahe na Koi``
``Khwaar howegy Sab milenge bachee sharan jo hoi``

Please change the title of this posting. I am humbly requesting you as a Sikh.

Otherwise someone might look upon you as Anti Sikh-Muslim friendship.
Humbly

Delhiwala

Farzana, Well written. As someone who has seen the Sena mess up Shivaji Park (literally and otherwise), I agree with many of your points.

Does `Raj Karega Jaalsa` mean Raj is going to hold a political rally?

DW: Why is that a blasphemy to Sikh Ardaas now? Also the Indian constitution gives the Khalsa a right to vote but no guarantee to rule. Manmohan Singh or Raj Thackrey have to live by the same rules, regardless of your Ardaas. Is that acceptable to SIkhs in your opinion?

KhamL How does MQM enter into the comparison with the Shiv Sena?

#4 : DOes Moot mean Urine or death in that slogan?

Farzana :`During the Mumbai riots it was Raj who was known for his pugnaciousness (much as Sanjay Gandhi was during the Emergency). At the shakhas, Raj groomed the lumpens. `

Does Shive Sena jave shakhas like RSS? Who are the lumpens and what did grooming involve? Is pugnaciousness a crime? If so, was Raj ever convicted by the law of that, grooming the lumpens or going to the Shakhas?

Correction to #9: Jave should read `have`.

A quick note:

This title has not been intended to blaspheme the Sikh religion. The term `Khalsa` has not been used nor implied anywhere.

How can I, therefore, be considered as being ``Anti Sikh-Muslim friendship``?

Thank you for posting the whole couplet...I believe it means ``Word of Waheguru shall rule and nobody will be enemy, in other words if we have THY name in our minds then there shall be no enemies``.

Ab jab rab saath hai, tau fik`r nahin.

Perhaps what should be kept in mind is that from being a code of conduct, the Khalsa itself turned into a battle cry in later years.

The title here simply refers to Raj Thackeray celebrating (I used jalsaa in a sweeping way) -- and a question mark after it...

When I intend to hit out, I hit out directly. I have taken pains to explain that there is no malice here. So the headline stays.

PS: Please do not further this discussion and stick to the topic. Thanks.

Farzana, {``The Shiv Sena has never really been a Hindutva party. It hates Bihari Hindus. It hates UP Hindus. It hates Bengali Hindus. It only likes Maharashtrian Hindus, and that too those of a certain caste. ``}

Farzana,
Not being that familiar with Mumbai politics and the inner workings of Shiv Sena, I was mostly confused by this article. I don`t really understand why Shiv Sena hates Hinus in Bengal, Bihar, and UP. What is the relationship of the Sena to particular Maharashtran castes?

I felt the article was written to circumvent any charges of ``foul`` for the author`s well-disguised views. It was almost like reading a preacher who not only ``spoke in tongues,`` but wrote the same way.

This is not one of your best articles. Please do not submit this one for any literary awards.

The comparison of Bal Thackerayt and Shiv Sena to Altaf Bhai and the MQM is both asinine and malicious. MQM is a secular, possibly-ethnic, and definitely forward-looking party. Shive Sena has definite religious overtones, somewhat-ethnic, and definitely looking to restore the ``glorious`` past of Shivaji and militant Hindu revival. MQM, while initially a Mohajir-based movement, has now become a nationwide Paki movement - calling for secular and fair government all over Pakistan. It stands for brotherly relations with India, eradication of extreme religious atmosphere, and opportunities for all.
