``Is the government/MMA really applying its mind to flush out Al Qaeda or is merely buying time from US pressure? ``
If the Pakistani Army/MMA are indeed merely playing for time and playing a `tactical` double game on the US while the Pakistani public watches -
IMO it is worth realising for your own sakes that the Army/MMA have the fun of playing this double game with the US ONLY until the next terrorist attack on the US. Even if Bin Laden is not directly responsible for the next terrorist attack on the US, if he is still on Pakistani territory at that time, US military retaliation will most likely be aimed at Pakistani territory.
If they are indeed playing such a double game to save their friends, the MMA and their establishment patrons are only putting their nations public in greater danger.

Instead of fixating on India, please watch a bit of the testimonies being offered to 9/11 commission, which are currently being aired live on US cable news channels.
Not only Madeline Albright but some other prominent figures are talking of how attempts were made to get Osama before 9/11 but one of the consistent problems was that they couldnot persuade Pakistan, the primary backers of the Taliban, to help them.
Do you understand the reasons why Pakistan was not interested in capturing Osama pre 9/11 ? Are those reasons still holding true now?
This is likely Musharraf`s last chance and his MMA allies need to understand, harborers of Bin Laden ultimately get aerially bombed. After sacrificing the innocent noncombatants in Afghanistan to their cause, if they want to save the innocent noncombatants of the Pakistani tribal areas from coming under fire, they need to get their friends out of there.
The Pakistani government knew their foremost ally US was looking for Bin Laden and Zawahiri for the last 4 years. What was the Pakistani government doing for 4 years?

the Bushy American thinking is -- human life in third world is cheap and insect like anyway -- sho what if a few Pakistani women and children die in their sleep -- on just SUSPICION....
not because young American lives are more precious than the Pakistanis for this moron -- thanks to him they are dying too -- though not in their sleep most of the time --
despite the mountains after mountains of faulty intelligence confronting the moron on every misadventure -- there has never been a need to check and confirm -- before taking human lives of Iraqi, Afghani and Pakistani civilians in their sleep...
.....the killing of innocent civilians is worth it -- than letting go EVEN a 1% possibility that Osama bin Laden or al Zawahiri may be cooking something in those houses
......as the things stand today for the desperate delusional Bush man -- Bush may bomb his own mother`s house at midnight if his paranoia suspects that Bin Laden may be sleeping with Barbara Bush........

The drone, the CIA and a botched attempt to kill bin Laden`s deputy
I can imagine how the conversation went:
US: we want to bomb terrorists pakis in Pakiland.
Mushy: I won`t allow it.
US bombs paki territory and kills pakis
US: we`re going to bomb terrorists pakis in Pakiland.
Mushy: I won`t allow it.
US bombs paki territory and kills pakis
lather rinse repeat...
In the hunt for al-Qaeda, a missile attack on a mountain village killed women and children. The attack was precise, the intelligence was flawed, and the strained relation between Pakistan and the US has been pushed to breaking point
However, to the Americans` intense annoyance, he has not granted US forces in Afghanistan the right to cross the border into Pakistan, even in pursuit of militants. American-led coalition forces clashing with militants in the mountainous province of Kunar, immediately adjacent to Bajaur which lies a mere four miles from the frontier, say they have often been frustrated by their enemies` use of Pakistan as a sanctuary. Yesterday the Pakistani Foreign Ministry took pains to point out that `in all probability [the village] was targeted from across the border in Afghanistan`.
Tensions between Washington and Islamabad have grown in recent weeks as American troops have stepped up operations against militants. Pakistan has already lodged a protest with the US military six days ago after a reported US airstrike killed eight people in the North Waziristan tribal region, an almost deserted area of mountains 300 miles south of Damadola. In Damadola itself, locals said they had never sheltered any al-Qaeda or Taliban leaders, let alone al-Zawahiri, an instantly recognisable 54-year-old Egyptian-born ex-doctor.
`This is a big lie... Only our family members died in the attack,` said Shah Zaman, a jeweller who lost two sons and a daughter in the attack. `They dropped bombs from planes and we were in no position to stop them... or to tell them we are innocent. I don`t know [al-Zawahiri]. He was not at my home. No foreigner was at my home when the planes came and dropped bombs.` Haroon Rashid, a member of parliament who lives in a village near Damadola, told The Observer that he had seen a drone surveying the area hours before the attack.
`A drone has been flying over the area for the last three, four days, and I had a feeling that something nasty was going to happen,` he said in a phone interview. `There was no foreigner there - we never saw a single foreigner here. They were all local people, jewellers and shop-keepers, who used to commute between Bajaur and their village. We knew them.`

Ref 440............. I am sad you do not feel sad when supreme leader of Quait died. Please note we should not be so nonchalant as this is arab country and had been subjected to terrorist activities of Iraq`s Saddam. He helped USA to liberate his country and he is firmly in against terrorists just like us with USA. Also he has given billions of dollars to Pakistan they could have given to many poor countries than pakistan. You may or many ungrateful citizens of IRP may think same way but GOP feels otherwise. Following decision is taken at highest level of govt and by supreme leaders and they know why.
``Pakistan declares 3-day mourning on demise of Kuwaiti Amir ISLAMABAD, Jan.15 (PPI): Pakistan has declared 3-day mourning on the sad demise of Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmed al-Jaber al-Sabah, who passed away on Sunday. The National flag will fly at half-mast on January 15, 16 and 17, an official announcement said. (Posted @ 19:25 PST)``

Closet Mullah32
Of course- Hindus are ``primitive`` because they celebrate primitive shivaji - we all know that..... But then you folks worship a 7th century bedouin bandit who probably did worse stuff then this guy shivaji - he even wrote an entire book instructing how to massacre people of other cults.... so what does that make you, eh mullah32? :).....

``And the hindus remain primitive today when they continue to celebrate primitive men like shiva ji (who were in it for their own bloody selves, not for any principles) ``heroes``. ``
Tahmad32ji,
While you are entitled for your opinions, I think most of of Indians feel the same way
about Mr. Jinnah and Muslim League leadership. Pakistanis remain primitive when
they celebrate the men like Mr. Jinnah.
I think there are blue colloar criminals and white collar criminals.

interesting tidbit..
``Tiger`` is the symbol/emblem of Cholas..
You see why LTTE is named as ``Liberation Tigers`` and their emblem contains a ``tiger``..

I read the relevant portions.. It says,
...In the course of perhaps several campaigns, more triumphs were recorded by the Cholas, more treasure was amassed, and more Mahmudian atrocities are imputed. According to a Western Chalukyan inscription, in the Bijapur district the Chola army behaved with exceptional brutality, slaughtering women, children and brahmans and raping girls of decent caste.. ..
Like wise the plunder of Srilanka was reported by the ``Srilankan Chronicle``..
When kings fight and destroy each, I don`t think they follow geneva conventions... :-)
But the difference between ``Cholas`` and ``Ghazni`` is that the while for ``Cholas`` it is the report of the ``defeated`` folks, and for ``Ghazni`` it is the ``alberuni`` report (similar to the embedded reporters.).. Even in the Iraq war, the militants keep claiming the american soldiers are entering iraqi homes and raping iraqi women..
Now while Ghazni was busy following the religious tenets (verses of Quran, and following the footsteps of Muhammad in idol-breaking), at the same time making use of the wealth (two or three birds in one stone), these ``Chola dudes`` had just the plunder in mind.. There were no references to them attacking temples / buddha viharas.. and buliding the ``Tanjore temple``.. there is no obvious proof (like we have in various mosques in India made up of scraps of demolished temples..). I believe it is in your dream and I could not find any reference to it in ``India a history`` by John Keay.

Quite a painful article indeed.
Its true that Prez.Musharaff bent much more while agreeing to co-operate with the US post 9/11. He was so desparate to get international recognition of his coup and he been seen as the legitimate ruler of Pakistan, he mortaged or rather outrightly sold the nation to the americans.
Now ,you cannot blame the americans. Musharaff has his Gaddi and will remain there as long as Washington wishes and the americans have whole of Pakistan where they can strike at will.
The incident of Missile shooting is quite deplorable ,more so, the americans did not even bother to inform the Pakistani Government before hand. This shows the level of trust between Musharaff and the americans.

3. The hindus were primitive throughout their history (i gave the example of Cholas, who were tearing down hindu temples from neighboring states, looting and raping, at the same time that ghazni was tearing down hindu temples in the north, and the temple of Tanjore which I understand is among the tallest hindu temples, is a monument to the savagery of hindus among one another). And the hindus remain primitive today when they continue to celebrate primitive men like shiva ji (who were in it for their own bloody selves, not for any principles) ``heroes``.
Can you give the exact quoted from John Keay..? I have his book with me too..
