pretty sick and deceiving.
the pasture is not greener on the other side, they should marry and they would know.

faults are thick when love is thin..and excess of everything is bad..and too much of love is boredom.

Fantastic Amrita. You`re real good. Do write more. I love your style.

Yes. Love, sex and infidelity ... these are all things apart. Their own joys and sorrows ... own aches and pangs ... masochistic / sadistic ... strange are things of the mind!

Love it!
Absolutely brilliant!

Is it love relishing in the stolen moments waiting until the next encounter?
Is love now synonymous with sex?
What is love and how it consumes us, rendering us a helpless captive to our own emotions.

Brilliant, spell binding story.
Infidelity is not new.
Marriage itself is however, dying and `partnerships` are on the rise.
Whatever next?

this had some major rhythm, loved it. the guy is so unreal..is he really talking or is she imagining the talk?

the best line in the story..

``pervert``

some advise (i feel so unclish..)
for the story to be a commercial success, it lacks food, cigarette not enough (bubbling rogan josh on the stove..)..even silly khushwant singh stories have food, else its a story with only the woman (man feels imaginary) in it..

hey look, Amrita`s in the fishy tank `yet` again!!! :P

“You love me and I love you and then what?”

may not have supposed to carry the same nuance as the one I drew, this phrase perhaps hold true in any context. this `then what` thing...would never let go.

sorta similar story ot the one in a recent Indian movie Raincoat...fantastic movie that one too...but thank lord the situation there never turned this much haijaan angeiz :D

Ohh, and forgot to add, great work... very artistic and rythmic. keep more coming! (coz you know how this place gets so god-awefully boring and monotonous, with one political hanky-panky following another ;) )

this couple needs to see Dr. Sohail of ``Unfaithfully Yours`` -- rather urgently....let`s hear from Dr. Sohail Khalid how he will analyze this la affaire de illeeceet....

amrita - you write really well. these kind of articles strike a deeper chord amongst average people than the ones written on chowk with the intent to eradicate world hunger and find cure for cancer.

questions: do you think this injun couple`s predicament has its roots in the hindu tradition of polyandry? and do you think sheila is a poster child for keeping that tradition alive?

I see that as a writer you have alot of potential but these stories seems tobe on evry forum...
But each time itz really nice to read how the different unfaithful couples interact with each other!!all the ``LOVELY and SEXY lines they speak give us guys a lot of hint about how to react and wht to say when a similar situation comes on us!!

hey, visitors in the fishy tank! thank you one and all for swinging by...

kaptain - well, she`s already married and so probably knows how green the grass is. thats one of the reasons why she`s not interested in leaving her husband. but yes, an excess of love is boredom... at least for some of us. thanks for reading!

zeemax - thanks! but no, this isnt a true story. :) but i`m going to take that as a compliment.

sajal - long time no see... how`ve you been? thank you for the kind words... and the excellent questions. thats what i was trying to convey - that their answers are something that we each need to find for ourselves.

parthaab - i actually dont think there`s anything wrong with the institution of marriage. i just feel more people need to think before they commit to it. glad you liked my effort. thanks!

jang - point noted. next time i`ll make him open a bag of chips before lighting up. btw does he feel imaginary because he`s too nice to be a guy or because he`s not munching or burping or something? :D
[actually, thats a serious question] thanks for reading!

shobie - i ith again in fithy tank! watch me thwim! ok, i have no idea why i lisped in there... it just seemed like the place to do it. havent seen raincoat but will do so now that i know they ripped my story off :) vaise, what nuance did you draw from that line? thanks for coming by, dude.

nasah - i have no idea what you`re talking about. i`m just glad you came by. thanks!

atif - thankoo! but polyandry aint got nothing to do with it. some of us do stuff just coz we feel like doing it without consulting a higher power. :( of course, we then consult a higher power when the same decision comes back to bite us on the ass but so far sheila`s ass is bite free. and how do you know sheila`s a hindu? she could be christian too.

amrita he feels unreal becuase he seems to talk a lot..kinda could be her ``imaginary`` friend..i mean he almost seems to initiate pillow talk.

and you laugh now..but when the random house (or scholastic :D ) editor asks you to add some curry-to-the-storry, you will remember my comment.

atif, are you now considering immigrating to Himachal Pradesh.. (polyandry is better than five-sister polygamy)..

PS -

Nasah - just read what you referred to. That was an interesting article... hmmm. yeah, i wonder how that woould play into the woman being unfaithful. And that story about Kaifi Azmi was really funny even though i didnt completely understand the context. :(

Jilawatan - yeah i wasnt aiming to break new ground. just wanted to have fun writing and give the readers a good time. hope you had that. as for helping you with what to say... LOL! you reminded me of the boys in my school who would call girls up and read lines from Cosmo and other women;s magazines and stuff coz they didnt know what to say!

Re: # 10 haha, atif payee would never let a single opporunity slip his hands! This aakash guy is not her patee, so doen`t look like a case of polyandry. albeit for a non-machoistic society, he would be termed her rakhail :D

Dear Amrita,

An excellent piece as usual. You have a quality of bringing your characters alive...

Kind of reminded me of an Indian art movie I saw... about this guy- a leftist and son of a Muslim judge... a girl who is married to an IAS/ICS officer ... and a thoroughbred middle class capitalist guy who knew them at college ... called Raj malhotra or something...

Does anybody remember the name.,.. was it ``Khawashain itni...``
