#444, {``Soharab Goth is actually a Pathan or Afghan refugee neighborhood that was attacked by MQM walas. It is on the super hiway...Yes, the murders were never brought to justice...after all they were all MQM``}
HP,
Yes, I know where that is - right next to Gulshan-e-Iqbal on the Highway. Please don`t lie, this is when the Pathan men from Sohrab Goth went to the Bihari colony and murdered hundreds of people, including burning many young boys. No police and no army came to the help of these victims. Please don`t twist historical facts. You should be ashamed.

``To make matters even worse, after the carnage of Sohrab Goth, when Mohajirs (mainly Biharis) were slaughtered by Pathan tribesmen in Karachi, the GoP did nothing to bring the murderers to justice. ``
I know you are running hot and cold for many days now. But here is a minor correction that will keep your narrative straight.
Soharab Goth is actually a Pathan or Afghan refugee neighborhood that was attacked by MQM walas. It is on the super hiway...Yes, the murders were never brought to justice...after all they were all MQM...

#439, Behram1i, {``Yep...Cell phones, for God`s sake. A life in Karachi is worth less than 100 USD. But, again the All Tuff brigade only knows how to live on government dole or drive cabs. ``}
Beharam Bhai
Did you recently lose a cell phone? Don`t worry, yaar! You have been out of touch for a very long time.
Also, before you demean cab drivers, have you not read the latest sermon from Sage ``holier than thou`` Tahmed about the honorable professional of being a cab driver? I remember seeing him in ``Taxicab Confessions`` some time ago.

Mr. Tahmed:
When you can`t respond to facts and concrete evidence, you always resort to personal attacks. No wonder the Indians of Chowk make mince meat out of you so often.
Just keep yourself and your Paki Punjoo Rangers out of Karachi and we will get along fine. After all, you don`t miss Dacca, Chittagong, Jessore, Noakhali, Mymensingh, Sirajpur, and Khulna - do you?

For the racist bigots like Tahmed and Behram:
You have been accusing Mohajirs, with various differentiations to suit your hateful propaganda, of violence, theft, laziness, looting, and even murder. You have even tried to segregate ``good`` Mohajirs from ``bad`` Mohajirs. I guess you are nostalgically referring to the meek docile Mohajirs who came to Pakistan in the 40s and 50s. Gentlemen (I use the term for strictly reasons of formality), people are meek because they CHOOSE to be. People become ferocious because they HAVE to be. Just ask the Jews, the Bosnians, the pacifist Hindus, and even the Bengalis. Biharis, I assume you are calling them the ``bad`` Mohajirs who arrived in the 70s and 80s, may have been violent for good reasons. They were abandoned to the excessive retribution of the Mukhti Bahini, while the brave “Ghazi`` Paki Punjabi soldiers surrendered in safety and honor to their benign Sikh ``adversaries.`` Then the destitute ``Bihari`` victims arrived in Pakistan through a variety of methods, only to face Mr. Bhutto`s ethnic hatred unleashed on ALL Mohajirs in Sindh. To make matters even worse, after the carnage of Sohrab Goth, when Mohajirs (mainly Biharis) were slaughtered by Pathan tribesmen in Karachi, the GoP did nothing to bring the murderers to justice. Finally, the daughter of the executed Bhutto and her twice ``elected`` racist successor, Nawaz, organized the wholesale persecution and violent suppression of Mohajirs, using Paki Punjoo Rangers as Gestapo SS units. Tahmed, if you want peace and prosperity in Karachi you may want to remove your rapacious and murderous Paki Punjoo Rangers from that lovely city. You might want to do the same elsewhere in Pakistan where they are up to no good, as pointed out by Mr. Urstruly so eloquently. Otherwise, you will have not one but three or four more Bangladesh`s to contend with.

Oh! But I was only 10 years old, when I left Karachi. Yet, I know so much of Karachi and North Nazimabad, and Liaqatabad, and Golimar. Of course, Karachi has grown into a huge metropolitan. O! But we have to forget about the Kachis of Lyari, where the thugs of MQM would be kicked out. They do not need sugar cane from Texas. They might need some heroine from Afghanistan, to get rid of their depressive mood. Being thugs and goondas is all they know about. The urdu speakers building high rise? Wow! Now that is some news of these corrupt people who rob people from Qurbani ki Khalain. Those who created a terror camp in Korangi can not be constructive.
So why is Karachi still a bastion of robbers and thief`s? Those who steal cell phones. Yep, blame it on the establishment. The all illusive establishment. The ones that they themselves have always been a part of. Killers on the streets and collaborators in the government. These people are worse than the drug lords from Columbia. What ingenuity and what brains can create such an illusion in the public sphere. Even the highest paid political consultant of the US can not come up with. Let Condi Rice know about the enormous potential of these people of thugs and goondas.
Yep...Cell phones, for God`s sake. A life in Karachi is worth less than 100 USD. But, again the All Tuff brigade only knows how to live on government dole or drive cabs.

#432 jang: i dont know what ``root cause`` you are thinking of. Like I said in my previous post to you, while we have some rotten eggs among the people who came over from india (i.e. the MQM types who spread ethnic hatreds in Pakistan), many muhajirs also have contributed positively to Pakistan.

#435 Mr. Salim: you write ``Yes, I support restitution and even repatriation of all Indians (Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, or Jews) who were residents of the areas now forming Pakistan - INCLUDING and ESPECIALLY KARACHI. ``
Too late for this, since your true position on this issue has already been demonstrated by your demands for entry to Pakistan of the ``stranded biharis`` while ignoring the fact that hindus who were forced to flee in 1947 and so have a reasonable right to some form of acknowledgement of the injustice done to them which these ``stranded biharis`` who in fact came to Pakistan to improve their fortunes - many of them by taking over property of the departing hindus - do not.
As HP said, you are a bay-par-ka-baaz and so there is no point in wasting time with you. My last post to you on this subject.

Ibn-e-Jafar #400 {``Further more I hope that our young age will make these uncles think twice about their ridiculous behaviour. Even though I am not hoping for them to apologize to us (after all it would be against their egos) but hopefully the tehzeeb and tamadun instilled by our Muhajir parents in us would teach them some lesson.``}
Jafar Bhai,
This comment of yours really made me think and reconsider the hate-filled duel into which the anti-Mohajir group has forced us. You are so right about the legacy of tehzeeb inherent in our Hindustani traditions. While people in Punjab were busy slaughtering each other and worse, people in UP, Rajasthan, and other Urdu-speaking parts of Hindustan were trying to come to terms with the reality of this partition. There were very few incidents of violence and slaughter in those areas. Many Hindus were requesting their Muslim friends and neighbors NOT to go to Pakistan. The only danger these refugees faced was the wholesale slaughter of west-bound trains in Punjab.
We need to practice our inheritance of peace, diversity, civilized behavior, and tolerance. In fact, it is this civilizing effect that both impresses and threatens the ``sons of the soil.`` Some try to imitate our culture, as is the case with many urbane Lahoris, who speak to their children in Urdu. What we must place above all, and despite the deliberate provocations from the idiotic bigots, is our mission to civilize the vast majority of poor Punjabis, Sindhis, Baluchis, and Pathans. These innocent people are languishing in extreme poverty and ignorance under the deliberate yoke of their feudal masters. The use of racist provincialism is an insidious attempt by hate-filled chauvinists like Tahmed to preempt any friendship between Mohajirs and their own serfs. Let`s understand the real agenda of these hate-mongers.

Tahmed16 #s 429, 430, and 431
Sir, you are all over the map with your bigotry against Mohajirs and MQM. When you were wailing away at the great losses of the recent tragic earthquakes, MQM and its supporters were organizing the greatest relief and donation effort in all of Pakistan. The city of Karachi donated supplies and money that strained the logistic capability of the Paki armed forces. Yes, it was the MQM that organized that charitable drive. Do you know that most Mohajirs of Karachi don`t have relatives among the victims of the earthquake? It is difficult for a racist bigot and a confirmed PainDoo like you to comprehend that people are compassionate and generous to the needy, regardless of the affinity imposed by race, language, or provincialism. For you, only your Punjabi and related victims matter. I am ashamed to consider you a Muslim of any sort - no not even a god damned Wahabbi fanatic.
Yes, I support restitution and even repatriation of all Indians (Hindus, Sikhs, Parsis, or Jews) who were residents of the areas now forming Pakistan - INCLUDING and ESPECIALLY KARACHI. I have always maintained that what is missing in Karachi is the significant presence of Hindus with their exceptional qualities of festivals, colors, happiness, singing, dance, commercial activities, tolerance, intelligence, and cosmopolitan lifestyle. My family never usurped any property left by departing Hindus or Sikhs anywhere in Pakistan. My grandfather, as a young Muslim, arrived with the misplaced fervor of wanting to help the infant Pakistan grow. He was soon disillusioned by Pakistani Punjabi greed, bigotry, and provincialism.
Sir, while you are expressing some regret over the mistreatment of the Indians expelled from Pakistan, let me remind you that it was in Punjab where the most grotesque, the most brutal, and the most complete ethnic cleansing occurred during partition. Punjabis exceeded all norms of human behavior, human decency, and human standards in butchering, raping, looting, torturing, and evicting other Punjabis who happened to be of the wrong faith. Organized slaughter of entire trains of refugees was unique to Punjab.
Also, as several Chowkies have enlightened us, Urdu-speaking Mohajirs arriving by train in Lahore from Delhi and western UP were directed to other trains leaving for Karachi. Lahoris were careful not to have Urdu-speakers settle in their city or province. Please check your facts before you indulge in unbridled and shameless bigotry. Don`t forget that there will be a Day of Judgment and you are probably going to be in court before most of us here. Have some respect for your own advanced age. Thanks.

Ibn-e-Jafar #424 {``Salim Bhai
When I first came to chowk, almost a week ago; I initially thought that you might be gratuitously harsh towards these people. I failed to contemplate that how come several people who are targeting one specific person can be wrong. I thought that maybe it is you who is responsible for all this mess.
But I was outrightly wrong, evil speaks out for itself. The ugliness of their mentality will always sneak out to show its demonic face. The more they will bash Muhajirs the clearer their face will be seen. ...I support your cause and want to let you know that you are merely paying the price of speaking out the truth. Truth is bitter and the hate replies you have been entertaining is the reaction of that bitterness. May Allah(swt) help you in your cause. ``}
Jafar Bhai,
I appreciate your help and objectivity in setting the record straight. As you can see, Mr. Behram is busy painting very wide and encompassing swaths of half-truths and lies about Karachi. He has no concept of geography, history, or economics. You corrected him on his blatant lie about Altaf Bhai being Bihari. Not even acknowledging his mistake he is now charging fully into the realm of streets being washed, Burns Road, Golimar, Jacob Lines, and all other half-researched facts in a macabre salad of hate, lies, bigotry, and racism.
Does he realize that the Karachi of the 50s, 60, and 70s was also populated heavily by Mohajirs - most of them from the UP, CP, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Bihar Urdu-speaking heart of India? Does he realize that Karachi was merely a town of a few hundred thousand people in the `40s?
The huge influx of Mohajirs, the great building boom of the 50s, 60s, and 70s is what accounted for this phenomenal growth of the city to over ten million. Karachi is much more than the original Ratan Talao, Soldier Bazar, Garden West, Numaish, Bunder Road, Saddar, Clifton, and Bath Island sections. It is now Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, KDA, Gulshan, North Karachi, New Karachi, Hussain Da Silva, Defence, Liaquatabad, Latifabad, Kareemabad, Federal Area, PECHS, and all the other societies from Bangalore, to Lucknow, to Sindhi, to Delhi and others. Almost all of these were developed by Mohajirs.
To try to split Mohajirs into UP, CP, Bihari, Gujarati, Memon, and so on will not work. That was the whole point behind MQM. As we can all see, despite the constant suicide bombings perpetrated by Sunni fanatics from up north, there has hardly been any local Shia/Sunni violence among the Mohajirs of Karachi. I hope some of the real residents of our great city will come forward and correct this hate-monger who has probably misplaced his sugar-cane handled umbrella that he needs to protect from the hot sun, even in Texas.

{But maybe there is a root cause somewhere?}
Yes, the root cause was that All Tuff was just a third rate student, and was not allowed in the pharmacy school, and then the rest is history. Driving cab in Chicago did not help either. It was all because of those damn Parsees, Hindoos, and Christians who had English medium schools in Karachi. All Tuff and his gangsters could get a decent English medium education, so they have huge self-esteem problem. They have nowhere to take cover from their up bringing except for bringing goonda gurdee and dadageeri to otherwise many decent mohajirs of Karachi. If only I knew that All Tuff was going to be such a bad boy, I certainly could have used my influence and get him enrolled in an enlightened medium of education.
O! but they were depressed and would commit suicide because they had lost everything in East Pakistan. So bring down all of Karachi, because they have a right to bring everyone to the Lowest Common Denominator (LCD). And then they consider themselves smart as a fox.
Respectfully submitted,
