Well... it was hooliganism and nothing more really... but it did cause of a lot of economic and infrastructure damage to the city.

Very smart, but you messed up regarding the converse. Also while considering the meaning, if the verse is giving you a choice none or one, and you combine that with other verses, the obvious choice is none but the one had to be left because of self-reference, otherwise the Quran would be falsified, it would contain error.

Next, the contrapositive is if not y then not x

Which translates as

If it does not contain many contradictions then it came from God

``Does not contain many contradictions`` does not translate into it contains one contradiction.

Now, if you`re discussing the use of words versus the meaning of words, here you confused the both, this arrangement prevents an error of self-reference, there is one word ``ikhtelafun`` in there which is not kathirun, or many. If the Quran had said, that there would be not ONE ikhtelafun (discrepancy) in it, it would contain and error of self reference. When you discuss the meaning of words, the ``does not contain many contradictions`` does NOT translate into it has ONE contradiction, you have a choice none or one, and when the books says that no falsehood can approach it that reduces the choice to none. There was good reason to choose many as against one, given the use and the mention of words. I still maintain that that verse does NOT say that the Quran contains ONE discrepancy, it is not saying that.

I see no collapse of my ``thesis`` as you put it, the reason is very good, if it said one or more, then there would be an error of self-reference. The ``meaning`` of none on the other hand is very clear when combined with other verse.

I SAID THAT THE FIRST SENTENCE IS EQUIVALENT TO THE CONTRA-POSITIVE, WHICH IS:

``If it contains less than many contradictions (negation of y) then it did not come from someone other than God (negation of x).``

Do you agree to this or not? If not why not?

Also note that the ``converse`` is not the same as the ``contra-positive``.

Rain (x) means wet streets (y)

No rain (x``) can ALSO mean wet streets (y) and it can mean dry streets (y``)

Ghair Allah (other than God) = many contradictions
does not translate into Allah= zero or one contradiction.

The book is not saying that, you are inventing it and then using a logical fallacy of the converse to prove your non existant point. What can you all not deal with what the Quran ACTUALLY says, why do you have to invent straw men?

Janab Tatti a.k.a. Mr Lump of Shit alias Behram 1 who( I now learn) is a Parsee, belongs to that clan of Iranians who thought it more dignified in seeking refuge in India than submitting to thoee marauding Muslim hordes who were laying waste to that beautiful land of Iran so that they could keep their faith from extinction.
Looking at his pedigree, why Janab Tatti`s posts are so venomously anti India is hard to understand.
He was born in Pakistan but speaks Gujarati at home like all Parsees, goes to the Agiary(Fire Temple) and when he dies his remains will be fed to vultures on a tower of silence. Most of his relatives are probably in India and thriving in a society that respects all religions, while he or may be his parents decided to stay on in Pakistan, out of compulsion obviously, because there is not a single Parsee who would have voluntarily opted for Pakistan after partition and moved to that part of the country.
All in all it appears that he has to outdo the Pakistanis in hating India and all things Indian because that is the only way he can show that he is a true Pakistani.

Mr Lump of should remember that India is the country which gave refuge to his forefathers, who were running from Muslim tyranny in Iran and allowed them to set foot on India and treat it as their own motherland. It is sad that while most Parsees have excelled in all fields and done their adopted motherland proud, we have here an ungrateful descendent of this great race who has nothing but hate for the land of his forefathers` adoption. He can only be described as a blot on the legacy of his clan and the only word to describe such people is `ehsaan faramosh` or `namak haraam`.

You`ve hit the nail on the head. For far too long our dear friend had been living in an alternate world and the average Paki wouldn`t so much as dare to question his supposedly `impeccable` credentials on just about anything under the sun. If dabbling in something makes one an expert, then I`m a nuclear scientist because I have a lot of interest in particle Physics.
