It is a little too optimistic to think Pakistan as the best one-day team in the world. The big contenders to that post are Australia and India, with SA coming close. England, Pak and Sri Lanka are all outsiders with a chance to win the world cup. They certainly are not favourites. Pakistan is hardly the team it was in the nineties, when Wasim and Waqar were going strong.

Playing on the dead sub-continental wickets makes tigers out of mice. Lets see the performance of these players on fast bouncy pitches against the likes of McGrath & Brett Lee. The Australians, though not unbeatable, are far ahead of the rest of the world in their work ethic and never say die attitude.

Re: # 1
Cmon now, don`t be so disgruntled, for a country of 1 billion people their obsession with one sport says something, it says this is democracy and masses want what they want. Yes it has shades of grey sometime but my friend, look around, this sport is still the best and most honest alternative availble for entertainment and creating idols for youngsters. What would you rather have, kids following Sachin and Rahul or kids idolising Laloo Prasad Yadav and Malika Sherawat.

It`s a shame that for a country of a billion people obsessed with one sport, we have a mediocre and inconsistent team..

More over, this is still an extremely corrupt game.. They are making fools of us.

Thanks,
