In the words of dear Saima Shah, I would also say:

``How could I have missed this!. Hilarious, smart and witty!!.``

How can a Matarrua have such a sense of sarcastic humour, I doubt?

Zehra`s Swan Song # 448:

``The beautiful legendary song sung only once by a swan in its lifetime, as it is dying.``

Bye Zehra, the ugly duckling. So sucking on your thumb did work, walking talking poison pill. Please do not bother to get up, stay dead and do not try to sing another song.

Please sign this petition. Islamic fundamentalism epidemic has killed far too many people and gone on for a few centuries too many without decent humans doing something about it. Now is your chance. The next step will be for the UN to push all Islamic countries to legistlate these into their respective constitutions, or face sanctions.

MUSLIM MANIFESTO: Like men, women should have the right to decide how they will live, dress, travel, marry and divorce; if they do not enjoy these rights, they are clearly second-class citizens.

MUSLIM MANIFESTO: All critiques of Islam should be countered not by threats and violence, but by rational counter-argument

MUSLIM MANIFESTO: We strongly denounce anti-Semitism. We accept Israel`s right to exist.

MUSLIM MANIFESTO: We accept the legitimacy of the secular state and the secular law. Islamic law, or sharia, was developed at a time when Muslims were living in homogenous communities. In the modern world, virtually all societies are pluralistic, consisting of different faiths and of different perceptions of each faith, including Islam. In this pluralistic setting, a legal system based on a particular version of a single religion cannot be imposed on all citizens.

MUSLIM MANIFESTO: We support and cherish democracy — not because we reject the sovereignty of the Almighty over people, but because we believe that this sovereignty is manifested in the general will of people in a democratic and pluralistic society. We do not accept theocratic rule

MUSLIM MANIFESTO: we cherish religious liberty. Every human has the right to believe or not to believe in Islam or in any other religion All Muslims furthermore have the right to reject and change their religion if desired

Re: # 442 dear zahraj

``The surgeries could save their lives, noted the physicians who perform them, because, according to some interpretations of Islamic law, if a male relative suspects them of having premarital sex, the woman is a criminal. In some countries, such as Saudi Arabia and Nigeria, the penalty could be death``

zahraj you are a sensible women/girl but try to understand that on suspesion a crime cannot be proved anywhere in the world and specially as per islamic law the premarital sex is prohibited but if the relatives suspect of prmarital sex then the burden of proof is on the relatives and they will have to provide four eyewitnesses to attract the Hudood law for the capital punishment. it is also considered in determining the sentence whether the culprit was married or unmarried. if unmarried then the punishment is whipping but if married then the death sentence is ordered.

do you have any precedent of death for premarital sex in saudi arabia or any where just for the relatives suspected.

i dont want to be rude with you which is nowadays is a norm here but in the next time be carefull in relating anything to islam or islamic law because these are very sensitive issues and before mentioning anyhting such issues you need to study it well then should come to any conclusion. otherwise you will plague islam by your raw thinking and wrong conclusions. which has already done severe damage to islam.

A swan song -

Before consummating their marriage, both Mrs and Mr. Chauhan were not able to consult an ob/gyn due to their repressive upbringing and regressive surroundings. As a result, Mr. Chauhan stayed obsessed with the subject and topic of women`s body parts. Now, he is expecting a baby in the near future. It does not seem that he was fortunate enough to talk about his fascination(s) with his wife. A recipe for disaster!

We hope and pray that in the future, newly married men(or those who are still learning after being in their marriage for decades) on Chowk address anatomy related questions with their sexologist or wives vs. exposing their lack of understanding in open. Although Chowk is about learning and sharing, but some of these sensitive subject areas better be learned and discussed in the confines of one’s bedroom. In order to do that, we strongly advise (and not advice) all married men on Chowk to spend more time with their spouses to develop a healthy emotional, mental and sexual bond. This ezine was not created to generate distance between the newly weds. If you are a newly wed and have been spending more time on Chowk than you do with your spouse, then please consult a psychiatrist asap. Please learn from Mr. C’s situation. By spending more time on Chowk, he has deprived himself from the initial learning opportunities he could have availed at home. As a result, he has reached a mental state where he only utters unpleasant hysterical outbursts. Apparently, he has developed an acute sense of depravation in all matters of life. We all hope that he consults a sexologist asap. In these tough times, we wish Mrs. C the best! Sit tight, Mrs. C! We are all praying for your spouse’s sanity.

Chowk’s Junta wishes both Mr. and Mrs. Chauhan a happy journey exploring each other with the help of a sexologist and authentic on-line research material. We hope that their exploration process will not cause a population explosion in the Muslim world :))))) May the couple discover peace and harmony in each other’s company. As a result, may we get peace and harmony back on Chowk! Amen.

To reduce the curiosity of devious minds, I decided to post the following from my ilog. An old article, but reveals a despicable mindset of some muslim countries. That mindset is no different from what is exhibited on Chowk by bunch of imposters.

Restoring Virginity Becomes Risky Business

Restoring Virginity Becomes Risky Business

By Sandy Kobrin - WeNews correspondent

LOS ANGELES (WOMENSENEWS)--Some doctors perform these specialized surgeries on women late at night when there`s no one else in the waiting room.

The patients are most often women of Middle Eastern descent, some with
origins from countries such as Iran and Saudi Arabia. They frequently give false names and pay in cash. They arrive alone, faces hidden, under
elaborate hats, wigs, scarves and sunglasses and, afraid, say doctors.

They are there for hymenoplasties, or the repair of hymens, which, when
intact, are widely recognized as evidence of virginity. The surgeries could save their lives, noted the physicians who perform them, because, according to some interpretations of Islamic law, if a male relative suspects them of having premarital sex, the woman is a criminal. In some countries, such as Saudi Arabia and Nigeria, the penalty could be death.

Although for the most part, many of the women who seek these surgeries live in the U.S. with family members or to attend school, many return to their home countries when its time to look for a husband.

Doctors say that while there are no official statistics, they have seen an increase in requests for more hymen repair surgeries in recent years. In addition, more doctors are receiving threats.

``While we have no concrete numbers, doctors have reported growth in the
number of hymenoplasties,`` Dr. V. Leroy Young, chair of the emerging trends task force of the Arlington Heights, Ill., American Society of Plastic Surgeons, told Women`s eNews.

``Yes, there has been a degree of danger to doctors from fundamentalist
groups who believe you are violating a law or culture. You can get in bit of trouble.``

Young also said that it`s not just women with Middle Eastern backgrounds
seeking the surgeries. There has also been an increase in the number of
women requesting hymen repair from both the Orthodox Jewish and Christian fundamentalist communities, as well as from women of all nationalities who want the surgery as a sexual enhancement.

``Within the fundamentalist Christian population as well there has been an apparent recent movement towards `traditional family values` and there is pressure put on women to be virgins,`` Young said.

The hymen is the thin, fleshy membrane found at the opening to the vagina, long treated as a sign of virginity because it is usually torn by the first experience of sexual intercourse. Hymens can also be torn by athletic activities.

Typical hymen repair surgery involves stitching the remnants of a torn hymen together and inserting a gelatin capsule that contains a blood-mimicking substance. After the hymen has been surgically repaired, a woman will bleed the fake blood the next time she has sexual intercourse. The surgery, which costs from $2,500 to $4,500, is performed on an outpatient basis. Healing can take from a few days to a few weeks.

Doctors Get Death Threats

The women who undergo the procedures are not the only ones who fear for
their lives or well-being. A number of U.S. physicians who perform these
surgeries have received death threats by some who identify themselves as
Muslims.

Young said that some doctors have received e-mails and phone calls
threatening them or their staff with physical harm.

The threats to the doctors shadow the greater danger faced by women who
undergo the surgery. Many live in fear of violence or honor killing, a
practice in which a woman is murdered by her family members for supposedly shaming or tarnishing the family name with ``unchaste`` behavior. The practice occurs in traditional communities around the world, including the United States and Europe.

A report on honor killings by the Los Angeles-based Muslim Women`s League says that while sexual relationships outside of marriage are prohibited, honor killings are not a part of Islam.

``The problem of `honor killings` is not a problem of morality or of ensuring that women maintain their own personal virtue; rather, it is a problem of domination, power and hatred of women who, in these instances, are viewed as nothing more than servants to the family, both physically and symbolically,`` the report said.

The Islamic law of chastity before marriage does not distinguish between men and women. But women are often uniformly singled out for punishment of sexual crimes.

Dr. Laila Al-Marayati, communications director for the Muslim Women`s League and a gynecologist, says that women seek hymen-repair surgeries to cope with cultural pressures and not to comply with Islamic law, which does not stipulate a need to check a woman`s virginity.

``While Islam requires that both men and women be chaste before marriage; it doesn`t require women to prove it,`` she said. ``The need for surgery is because of the culture in some countries. Those same cultures do not require a man to prove his chasteness.``

``It is sad that doctors are being threatened because proving chastity is not part of Islam,`` she added.

Fear of Reprisal

Many doctors interviewed who have heard about the threats or have been
threatened themselves would only talk off the record to Women`s eNews for fear of reprisal. They did not want to advertise the fact that they perform the surgeries and said they like to keep a low profile on their work with hymen repair.

Dr. David Matlock, a Beverly Hills gynecologist, was an exception. Matlock, who pioneered laser vaginal rejuvenation, said he has been performing hymenoplasties on hundreds of women for over 21 years. Most, he said, were of Middle Eastern descent.

He said he recently received death threats in the mail and his office has received numerous calls from men, identifying themselves as Muslims, who threatened to kill him and his office workers if he did not stop performing hymen repair.

``They called my office numerous times and sent letters to my office with
pictures of dead and bloodied people,`` he said. ``It was unnerving to say the least. I can now better understand when these women come in and say to me: `I must do this. I`m going back to Iran and I could be killed.```

Southern California is home to a large number of people who have emigrated from Iran. Matlock noted that, while many of patients have lived in the U.S. for much of their lives, they still need to adhere to traditional practices and often undergo the surgery before looking for a husband.

Matlock said last year he contacted the FBI, who told him to keep a low
profile and to stop advertising the procedure in local papers such as the L.A. Weekly. He said he was told by the FBI that the notes were real and the people who sent them knew what they were doing.

The local Los Angeles FBI office declined to say whether it had received
calls from surgeons reporting death threats for similar reasons.

Dr. John Miklos has been performing hymenoplasties in Atlanta for the past five years on women ranging in age from 19 to 30. ``I have had many Middle Eastern women beg me to come in at night and then ask me to destroy the records. They say they could fall into the hands of family members and both of our lives could be in danger.``

More Cautious Now

Miklos says colleagues have told him about receiving threats and he has been warned by the women coming in for the procedure. In recent months, he says, he has become more cautious himself. He no longer advertises the procedure in local newspapers and he said most of his business comes from personal referral.

``These kind of threats are no different than doctors getting death threats from performing abortions,`` said Miklos. ``It`s insane that the women are so scared but it is shocking and a shame that doctors too have to be nervous.``

Dr. Bruce Allen, a prominent Toronto gynecologist, advertises hymen repair prominently on his Web site. When contacted by Women`s eNews, however, Allen said he does not do the procedure and refused to discuss his advertising and Web site.

Dr. Ronald Blatt of the Manhattan Center for Vaginal Surgery began doing
hymen repair about two years ago and reports a slight increase in the number of hymenoplasties. In the first year, the center performed two of the surgeries. Blatt could not be specific about which countries the women were from, but emphasized that the center works to be discreet about the procedure.

``We`ve only had about six and they were women who were born somewhere in the Middle East, but we try to keep a low profile. We only do it when asked.``

Sandy Kobrin is a writer based in Los Angeles who frequently writes about the plastic surgery industry.

#413, Saminasha, {``I have submitted at least three poems that werent predicated on maudling or sleazy descriptions of sex....not a word. Meanwhile, that same work has been well received by a literary awards group and two journals will be publishing it. But this work does not ``suit`` chowk.com`s purposes. Go figure.``}

Dear Lady,
It is quite possible that the poems you submitted were plagiarized from Temporal`s own vast collection of molested poetry. As for the stupidity and low standards of a literary awards group and two other journals, certainly, you cannot hold Chowk responsible for their willingness to accept bribes.

{``I don`t need my dap here-I am secure enough to know that my work is solid and appreciated in other south asian and american venues.``}

Now that`s more like it. Please take your solid waste and have it appreciated where it is valued. Oh yes, don`t let the door hit you where the good Lord split you. Bye.

This was a reasonably funny article, but Mr. Salim in one of his previous avatars was funnier, I think it was in the pre-KKK/BaraChota days. ...
I do object, however, to the bait offered by way of comments on tipping habits vis-a-vis Indians, and refuse to fall for it. Let it be known that even the camel jockeys in Sam now regard domestic Indian tourists as bigger and better tippers than anybody else. ``}

Dear Veeresh,
I can see why you would object to the joke about Indians not tipping or buying drinks. I am not insinuating that your countrymen are Scots without skirts and pale hairy legs. Sir, you are a gleaming exception to the tipping habits of most Indian travelers. But then, the Indians I have observed have been mostly in the west, where dollars and euros rule the roost. At almost 45 Indian Rupees to a greenback, I can understand the hesitation to part with one. On the other hand, your generosity and lavishness in distributing Paki Rupee notes everywhere in northwestern Punjab is a tribute to your own philanthropic nature. Remember the one rupee (a Paki one at that), that you gave to the taxi driver in Lahore? It was heart melting to read about how you insisted that the poor man educate all of his six daughters, send them to medical schools, and buy new clothes for his wife, mother, and great aunt. Your generosity is well-established. Of course, and I don`t agree with it, but most Pakis will insist that you were merely carried away by the 30% premium of Indian rupees over Paki ones. That is plain old enmity and lack of gratitude on their part - I continue to respect your contributions to Pakistan. Thank you very much, sir.

LOL. That is exactly the point. Very good anecdote about the plight of being a normal Pakistani in the West - thanks to Osama and his buddies. I resent the irresponsible actions of whichever Paki government that sponsored this murderous lot.

chauhaan bhai

include it in your ready reckoner:

A man was taking a walk in Central park in New York. Suddenly he saw a little girl being attacked by a pit bull dog . He ran over and started fighting with the dog. He succeeded in killing the dog and saving the girl`s life.

A policeman who was watching the scene walks over and says: ``You are a hero, tomorrow you can read it in all the newspapers: ``Brave New Yorker saves the life of little girl``

The man said: - ``But I am not a New Yorker!``

``Oh then it will say in newspapers in the morning: ``Brave American saveslife of little girl`` - the policeman answered.

``But I am not an American!`` - said the man.

``Oh, what are you then? ``

The man said: - ``I am a Pakistani!``

The next day the newspaper said: ``Islamic extremist kills innocent
American dog``.

it is advised if in next time you kill a mosquitoe and if a policeman asks you who you are never say you are pakistani say you are an indian.

MR or Misses ZaihraJ(As the case maybe)
I cannot let you offend a good man like Mr Chauhan, like I said before, I have Chauhan family members in Amritsar. I will support him even if he is wrong because I like him.

You are full of hatred and abuse towards woman. It is woman like you who give bad name to other woman that in turn leads to some men to be woman-abusers.

Get a life and frankly your vocabulary and choice of words beats the lowlife Bharwas of G.B Road in Delhi.
After interacting with you I am led to believe that Jumman the Rickshawala of Chandi Chowk is more refined that you and would classify as upscale Gentleman.

If you had any shame left in you because even if you take Harmonal Injections there is still some Projestrone left in you....You would apologise to Gentleman Salim Chauhan.

I resent the usurpation of all things feminine by the self-proclaimed feminazis of Chowk. The women in my life - family members, neighbors, professional associates, and friends are very different. They are warm, intelligent, compassionate, sincere, polite, and friendly. I love, honor, and respect them and thank God for their presence and support. Most men, barring a few, are naturally and genuinely supportive of women and appreciate them as full partners in making this temporary life on earth as pleasant as possible. Just as my friends and I cannot speak for the men in these hysterical maniacs` lives, I emphasize that they have no role in the interest of women in our lives. The women I know reject the false, myopic, useless, and selfish pursuits of the feminazis. It is interesting to note that while these drum-beaters of feminine rights become hysterical at the mention of the word ``female`` by men, they have no problem with abusing the females, even dead grandmothers and pregnant wives, of their male opponents. It appears that their contempt for ``female abuse`` is quite selective, because they themselves are the biggest abusers of females. Just notice how several of them are treating Chowk`s own sweet and energetic long-distance champion, Zeena. Case closed.

ghulam haider ``}

Haider Sahib, mere bhai,
What a wonderful name you have. I have always liked the name ``Haider,`` especially because it has to do with Imam Ali, the brave and decent human being, who was a true follower of The Holy Prophet (PBUH). The only problem is that in the west, there is a girl`s name, Heather, that could cause some issues for little boys named ``Haider`` in school. Sir, thank you very much for laughing and enjoying - as I have said many times, that is what makes my day. To bring laughter, while making a point, and then to benefit from more laughter in return is what human interaction is all about.

I laughed so hard about your insinuation that my advice about not performing Sijda in Greece is based on personal experience. Yes, I have been to several places in Greece and while I did not perform Sijda there, I did worry about what to do if I dropped some money on the ground. Thank God I did not drop any such funds. My advice to people traveling to Greece is not to drop any money. If you do, under no circumstances should you bend over to pick it up, especially if it`s some coins, a dollar bill, or even a $5 dollar bill. Any amount of $20 or more is well worth the risk. No, I am not a travel agent, but in my next life, I would love to come back as an airline pilot - just for the travel aspect.

Thank you for noting the difference between 97.6% of terrorists being Muslim and the unacceptable charge of 97.6% of Muslims being terrorists. A few bad apples are making rotten applesauce for the rest of us. I am working on an article that you will find quite interesting.

My point about ``subterfuge, masquerade, and camouflage`` was a satire about the West`s inability to distinguish between normal every-day decent Musims and those who are bent upon killing themselves and everyone else. Living in Pakistan, you must appreciate the dangers to society posed by these suicidal maniacs. I am convinced that one day, Inshallah, the true spirit of Islam represented by peace, compassion, equality, justice, unity, tolerance, and forgiveness will prevail.

I found several comments that you made quite witty and humorous. It is fun receiving such encouraging and funny feedback.

Thank you very much and have a great evening.

hi mr. saleem chauhaan

i am reading your article for last two days reason is that you have so much feedback for this article. i am a paki and it is our habit that we get involved ourselves in things where so many people are involved just to see why they are involved? but reading your article i am so much impressed by your sense of humour that i feel that you are a travel agent. and specially it made me laugh (though i laughed on the whole article) but where your practical experience in true sense was involved when you said:

``As I advised earlier, please do not pray in public places. Under no circumstances should you perform sijda in Athens or any other place in Greece. If you must perform sijda, make sure that you use a strong wall or corner as a cover. For my Pathan and Sardarji friends, this means facing away from the wall or corner.``

after reading it i beleive only once you visited the Greece or Athens (was abused?) and came back with such a precious precautionary measure. joking yaar donot take it to your heart.

people are coming out with interesting interactions and for these interesting interactions you need an interesting article and here it is. congratulations for this.

chauhaan bhai i am really thanfull to you that you said there are 97.6% terrorist are muslims and did not say that there are 97.6% muslims are terrorist. it would be the obvious reason to attack the whole muslim world for America. yaar i am afraid of american wrath.

and now i want pay my full gratitude and hats off to the indians that they are happened to look alike paki muslims and sympthy to Sikh who look alike Muslims. this co incidence of looking alike indianz has saved our skin otherwise the whole picture must be different. i never went out of pakistan but whenever i move out i will camouflage as per your indian citizen description like having laptop not giving tips etc to avoid all immigration hardships. and would like to use some suffix with my name like chopra, tata, birla..............so on and so forth if you have some more please send me for future planning. at the end to pay hounour to this coincidence i am quoting a line from a qawwali

``naa miltaa agar yeh tauba ka sahara hum kahan jatay``

chauhan bhai beleive me we kept on living in pakistan if this coincidence had not happened.

apart from it chauhaan bhai the comedy or any expression of literature is reflection of a society and so is yours which compeled me (though i am not well travelled like you or well conversant like you) to feel that muslims who are not out of those 97.6% muslim terrorists are also in juxtapositioning of identities, isnt it. if so then i am quoting a saying of hazrat Ali encompassing the current situation:

``the history is of two days a day when time is in your favour and a day when time is against you``

the time is against muslims without saying inshaalah the time will come when the day would be in our favour till then subterfuge, masquerade, and camouflage will be our salvation as per our most humorous and witty article writer slim chauhaan.

chauhaan bhai why have you been so touchy and serious about muslims at the end of your article and forged a salvation programme. it shows your senserity to muslim community. you are great paa ji and i am your fan in true sense and not ceiling fan, hoping to read more and more articles of such level.

Meethi Churi - Why would someone care about your views on any ilog? Who and what are you? Nothing, but an imposter! I am sorry but I simply cannot develop any respect for a person of your kind. To put it nicely, both you and your comprehension are a disgrace. Someone must be high on something to expect you to moderate any forum interacts. You are not even a civil human being. How can you introduce civil behavior anywhere? Any forum or culture or society that gives you this responsibility are to be blamed for their shortsightedness.

A final thought about the topic of hymenoplastie and the context in which we should understand it on Chowk. Suffice it to say that if someone researches an obscure topic, posts links to the repository of such information, and then places this whole research in one`s ilog, we have every right to presume that the person has more than a casual interest in the topic.

If we notice someone researching and posting links about nose jobs, shouldn`t we be expecting to find Cyrano De Bergerac in the neighborhood?

#412, Chowk-Staff

Dear Editor:

{``In #88 you were among those addressed: “I would also like to remind everyone here, including the writer, that this is not UP. Kindly desist from in-house name-calling.” ``}

I did try in #91 and various other posts. I was really interested in genuine feedback and NOT this exchange of insults. If you notice, only Saminasha and ZahraJ have been persistent in pointing out why and how this article is not humorous. Furthermore, they have accused me of plagiarism, recycling, misogyny, anti-hymenoplastie, abuse of females in the holy month of March, and various other crimes.

I love, honor, and respect almost all the females in my life - wife, relatives, friends, and colleagues. I do not subscribe to male supremacy just as I do not agree with religious, ethnic, racial, or national superiority. On Chowk, I have both male and female friends, and yes I have had terrible altercations with both male and female opponents.

This particular article is not intentionally directed against any single gender, nationality, religion, or race. I have used my own original humor, without recourse to any research or external sources, to highlight the plight of those who suffer irrational indignities. It is sad that one or two interactors, out of sheer jealousy and long-term hatred, have perched on this forum to pollute it with irrelevant and baseless allegations. If one charge is refuted, they immediately move on to the next one, without bothering to apologize for the previous false claim.

{``As the writer you should have tried to moderate the board, instead of responding to every reply that came your way. Once your piece is up here, it becomes your responsibility to a large extent to sift out irrelevancies.``}

Unfortuantely, I don`t have the power to enforce chowk guidelines that you, and perhaps others, do. All I can do is request relevance from the interactors and appreciate their feedback and cooperation. The good news is that out of the many interactors who provided feedback, only two have been persistent in polluting this forum - and one of the two, self-admittedly, hasn`t even read the article. That should define her own sense of objectivity.

{``You do understand that not everyone will like what you have written. Unfortunately, it sometimes takes several posts for them to make their point. Instead of getting involved in this, you ought to have seen that several FP regulars, including our writers, had positive or at least critically studied comments to make. (You still do not know what I think, and I do not have to like everything I publish. This should be a lesson for those who shout about freedom of expression and diversity of viewpoints.) It was your job to have taken it on the chin once and moved on.
``}

Thank you for pointing this out. You are absolutely right about noting criticism and moving on. There have been several critical comments (Veeresh, Jang, Masadi, and others) and I respectfully noted their response and provided any necessary clarification. I also learned a lot from the feedback - whether supportive or in oppostion of this article. I have no problem with dissent, I applaud it. When feedback takes on the form of wishing death for my unborn child and insults against my pregnant wife and dead grandmother, I should realize the source of the nonsense and cut the discussion short. I appreciate your advice and I do not expect you to like or endorse my article. I just appreciate your support of freedom of expression and diversity of viewpoints. No, I do not want the perpetrators of the evil against me banned. I just want them to be flogged and then tarred and feathered and then fed to the crocodiles in Manghopir. :)

{``There was a charge of plagiarism that was unfounded; then there were comments about “lack of originality”, which is entirely a subjective POV; and now finally, issues have been raised.``}

I have no problems with people not laughing at my jokes - thank God, I do not rely upon my mediocre comedy for sustenance. The charge of plagiarism was serious and I think that the accuser should have apologized once proven to be untruthful - now can we tar and feather the guilty one? Charges of ``lack of originality`` have been made in very general terms. Again, I reiterate that all the material is mine and I did not research external sources or other people`s efforts. If one or two jokes are familiar, it is because I may have used them earlier on Chowk. I do not need to steal others` material.

I do not agree with the religious law that equates the words of two women to that of one man. Unfortunately, Saminasha, in her eagerness to produce a humorous rebuttal to my article, requires the assistance of another equally inept female writer. This is really disheartening that our leading feminazi pom pom chubby girl, in this month of March, can`t take on a single man - mano a mano, word for word, article for article. She needs to team up with a fellow amazon, and thus inadvertently, prove the mullahs right.

This was a reasonably funny article, but Mr. Salim in one of his previous avatars was funnier, I think it was in the pre-KKK/BaraChota days.

I do object, however, to the bait offered by way of comments on tipping habits vis-a-vis Indians, and refuse to fall for it. Let it be known that even the camel jockeys in Sam now regard domestic Indian tourists as bigger and better tippers than anybody else.

``Slim Chauhan`` is an Irish name, indeed?

One more thing - splashing bottles of cheap colognes or fake ittar type ``perfumes`` is not suggested. Also, instead of Chivas, please carry a few bottles of Old Monk to distribute to your Indian friends.

I have yet another new recipe for my tally-ho type followers here, this one involves Bailey`s Irish Cream poured into a wide mouthed shallow glass, add cold kala-jamun crushed into large pieces like fat keema, add Old Monk and flash freeze. Then cover it with cognac and flambe the whole thing. Eat with tall steel ice-cream sundae type spoons.

Dear Editor in Chief:

With reference to post 412, you write:

``...As I had stated earlier, there is absolutely no reason for me to defend the selection of this or any other piece; the interactors can deal with the merits or otherwise of what they read on their own steam....``

Several interactors who have not taken issue with the majority of what has been printed on fp DID take issue with this piece. While some have pointed out that the reaction of interactors like myself, Sadna and Zahra are prejudiced his consistant derogatory comments about us, this is besides the point. MY point is that this ``humor`` is not very different from this interactor`s history of calling women prostitutes, etc. Its just repackaged with literally a couple (two) ``jokes`` about straight men that are matched by two ``jokes`` about queer men preying on straight men (or, subtextually, ``making`` straight men into women.) I did not even count those queer/women bashing ones....

This euphemism of ``steam`` is not an accurate account of the critique being offered here-and if the editor in chief is incapable of understanding what the critique is, she is more than welcome to ask us. I had to literally COUNT the number of ``jokes`` made at the expense of women for these critiques to be taken seriously. How funny is it now?

Does the Editor in Chief have to print everything that is submitted to her regardless of her own personal valuing of those submitted texts? I doubt it. I have submitted at least three poems that werent predicated on maudling or sleazy descriptions of sex....not a word. Meanwhile, that same work has been well received by a literary awards group and two journals will be publishing it. But this work does not ``suit`` chowk.com`s purposes. Go figure.

I don`t need my dap here-I am secure enough to know that my work is solid and appreciated in other south asian and american venues. However, I`m curious as to why people would want to contribute to chowk if articles like this one are judged to be High Art.

re:
``...It might be pointed out that not one of those who have been raising their voices has sent us any feedback against this piece...``

And why should we? Why are we expected to dignify misogyny and bigotry with feedback beyond this page?

re:
``...Besides, no one has to worry about no sunshine as the women’s history month comes to an end because I read that such months and days are not even noticed by some feminists because they are too busy; as it so happens, a good deal of time was taken up here to tell a man that he is not funny. ..``

And yet you`d have us spend a good deal more time writing earnest feedback ``responses`` to a piece the editors at chowk should have had the good sense not to post. No, this ball`s in your court, Editor in Chief. The time I spend was not directed at the writer of this piece, but in those who thought it was really funny.

- - -
There was a charge of plagiarism that was unfounded; then there were comments about “lack of originality”, which is entirely a subjective POV; and now finally, issues have been raised.

This is an invitation to anyone – male or female – to submit a rejoinder to this article in the contribution form if they feel strongly about it; the article will have to deal with only the issues that have been raised after 350 posts.

As I had stated earlier, there is absolutely no reason for me to defend the selection of this or any other piece; the interactors can deal with the merits or otherwise of what they read on their own steam.

It might be pointed out that not one of those who have been raising their voices has sent us any feedback against this piece.

Besides, no one has to worry about no sunshine as the women’s history month comes to an end because I read that such months and days are not even noticed by some feminists because they are too busy; as it so happens, a good deal of time was taken up here to tell a man that he is not funny.

Some of you might like to join in dealing with ‘abusers’ by not expending this much energy on them.

I suppose women’s history month would include some proactive involvement. Re. putting up stuff on women, there have been two articles and a series of poems – the latter got a sarcastic comment from a woman interactor. For the rest, where were they? A sentence? Could these not have been discussed further?

And a man may profile a woman; a woman may profile a man. This is not a zenana.

If anyone here has substantial opinions they wish to formulate, then nothing ought to stop them. Just do what you can and do not demand what others ought to do.

It is far better to contribute with your ideas.

Thank you,
Editor

Samina - March is considered to be the official women`s history month. I am completely disappointed by Chowk`s Admin. Rather than adding good stuff on women, they have started encouraging more abusers, stalkers and insecure fellas on this website. As a result, this month will come to an end and Chowk`s women will not see any sunshine.

It was a beautiful day outside - a little drizzle, wet roads, nice company and hot chai latte. Life is beautiful. Let`s enjoy it. You do not have to prove anything to anyone. Don`t let them get to you. You will always be disappointed by these fellas` thinking process. So, why even make repeated efforts ? Do I expect the aubergine-less and squash ball-less Kotex to mend his ways? No. But then he is accountable for his deeds and his jokes. I have resolved the mystery behind hy-men envy. Due to his poor comprehension skills, he thought that it was a way of saying ``hi`` to ``men``. So, he started saying ``hi`` to everyone on board. Let`s hope that Allah/God does not dish out one of her jokes on him. According to Uncle Newton`s 3rd law of motion, ``To every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.``

I am out of here. But I would like to stay in touch provided I have your email.

Best Wishes

I never claimed anything. I just said the truth on Mantolives FP article which was relevant to the article based on Pakistani women struggle for freedom movement and for struggle against patriarchy. Yes, my mother was a distinguished EDUCATIONEST and social worker. My grand mother was a distinguished MATHEMATICIAN (maths teacher). Yes, I helped and still helping and will help earthquake victims. Not only that I have so many projects for the poor people of my country. Do you wish to accompany me in December 2006 to Pakistan for another burn centre project in Rawalpindi? Then you are invited.

Ok, I will fax my mother`s degrees to you, my degrees to you and my grandmother`s degrees to you.
You know , just to prove my existence..............

You are STUPID, CRAZY Saminasha with NO SENSE at all. Just get a life, darling.

Saminasha, You are a walky talky JOKE . Yes, you`re. You have lost all your credibility in my eyes. I remember, when I used to admire your ideas, but, I thought you are a woman of principles and guts. I was wrong. Sorry, I was wrong. Yes, I am ashamed of myself of having a hihg opinion about you. Based on your abusive behaviour with me, I re considered my opinion.

Saminasha
Do you really know, what you`re talking about? Honestly, I have started worrying about your state of mind. Now, you are involving my mother`s education in your insanity. Really, people will laugh at your state of mind. You have just lost it, my darling, just lost it.
I do not need anyone`s identity here on this web site. Now, look at your pathetic behaviour, you are dragging my mother, my grand mother in to this bull fight of your`s. You are insane. What my mother, grand mother have to do with you? Haan.

What kind of devil you are? I am sure, you are not even human.

I don`t know amrita, JG or Temopral. I don`t wish to know anyone. I am not like you to investigate other`s idnetities, who is who?

Yes, If, you have strated this game of indulging my mother and grand mother in to this , then get ready for the same treatment.

Show me your mother`s picture on internet. How will I know, she even exists.

Look at your height of jealousy, that I mentioned on Manto`s FP article about my mother and grand mother`s achievements and their struggle for freedom of Pakistan. And, your pathetic low lying bizarre self couldn`t digest it and you have started abusing them as well. You are woman abuser, saminasha.

Have I ever mentioned , who you are? Have I ever inquired about you, your family ? Have I ever drag your mother in to any thread or board? Why you did that? Why you did that?

You have not only disrespected my grand ma, my ma ,but, also to the whole women clan by dragging those respectful ladies in to your insane, pathetic shameless fights with strangers on internet.

Yes, I don`t even know, you are man or woman. Yes, you have NO credibility.

Show us your mother`s existence(picture), your grand mother`s existence(picture) . I am sure they are not even educated. The way you are abusing me and my family(my ma and grand ma), it shows your family background. Absolutely, it shows where are you coming from, bizarre, just bizarre, third class bizarre with NO educational background. Ask your ma or grand ma, have they seen any school in their life time? I am sure never, they are illetrate like you are. Idiot. Loser get a life.

Why you even exist? Yes, show us your degree here on front page. Show us who you are.
God, this retard woman hanging out with women abusers has NO life.

Saminasha
Sissy, your behaviour is just like another woman abuser. You are sick with no sense.
You are consuming 200% energy to prove this article is not funny or derogatory. So, this is what your ma taught you. This is what your father taught you to spend your time in this stupidity. No wonder, you have NO credibility here or anywhere.

Saminasha
Any proof of your own retarded existence? Any proof of your ma`s and grand ma`s existence? Any proof of your father`s existence? Any proof of your own pathetic existence?
You are shameless pathetic loser with NO life.

Saminasha sweetheart darling
Well, in that context, you have proved your self the biggest hypocrite ever. You claim to be the biggest feminist in this world(of internet). Why were you quiet when khamkhwa, hamzaad, and many other your friends abused me , harrassed me? I on the contrary always stood for your abuse. Now, I realised you are not worth it. You befriended the idiots who abused me. You made fun of me, you called me idiot, crazy and much much more. Why? You are feminist only for yourself. Do you have even a slightest courage to get out of this internet miserable life and help poor oppressed women back in Pakistan or anywhere. No, you are pseudofeminist. Show me, one single post where you defended me. Rather, you stood side by side with these women abusers and harrassed me equally. Still I don`t resort to your level,b/c I am not crazy and retard like you. Thank God I have my sanity preserved.

PS:- Regarding Salim`s FP article, again, I do not see any derogatory remarks against women. Yes, this is the way you perceive the things , where your own selfish mind fit in to. You are proven hypocrite, who is dragging my mother in to this bull fight. Did I for once drag your family in to this?

And, you call yourself feminist. Yes, you are an insult to this word, feminist.

You are everything,BUT, feminist. Did I for once ask your credentials, your family`s for the proof of your pathetic existence here on chowk 24/7.
I am not interested in who you are, what you are. For God`s sake get a life.

Again, This is the way based on your personal grudge with Salim, that you perceive his article abusive. Why you expect me to follow your footsteps ? What right do you have over me? You are not even my enemy. Friendship is just out of question. Look at your shameless, abusive and harrassing and stalking behaviour . So, you think I will say Yes to your silly opinions. No, my darling , never. I don`t follow people blindly. And, specially people like you, who don`t respect others opinions.

Again, Yes I adore Salim`s article. Any objection?

She said, ``Yes. I think you`re right.``

And all your friends are assholes

Either way it worked out fine

All non multi nicked interactors are welcome to do their own accounting of this article. Here is what I found:

Chuhan writes:

``...Both you and Saminasha are incorrect in your charge that the humor in this article is restricted to female private parts. Perhaps that is the only part that your myopic eyesights and narrow minds can discern...``

And I quote:

1. ``Being a Muslim affects daily life in western countries where, ostensibly, freedom of everything, from cartoons to ice cream flavors and from dildo-less batteries to decaffeinated coffee, is paramount.`` Gender/Sexual Reference to: Female

2. ``Let’s face it, when you show up at the airport with your six inch beard, making your face look like a European beaver, your plastic portable lota in one hand, and a prayer rug rolled up in your armpit...`` Gender Sexual Reference: Male, Female; Face compared to Female Vagina

3. `` Always travel with only one spouse. Leave three of the wives at home. Better yet, in the west, it is more acceptable to travel and live with a girlfriend or mistress. You will blend in better and may even enjoy the variety – not that you need it with the four at home and 72 waiting in paradise....`` Gender Sexual Reference: Male Ownership of Female Bodies

4. `` Muslim women, who are almost always clean-shaven anyway, just need to discard that hijab, burka, chador, or similarly annoying accessory designed to emphasize lack of beauty...`` Gender Sexual Reference: Female Face and/or Vagina

5. ``..They suffer more than Muslims because of their turbans and beards and enjoy none of the benefits of suntanned manhood..` Gender Sexual Reference: Male, Penis

6. ``... They have not done too many bad things since the rape of Delhi in 1857...`` Gender Sexual Reference: Male Assault of the Female Body metaphor

7. ``...By the way, shepherd outfits are great because they don’t have zippers, which the sheep can hear from a mile away...`` Gender Sexual Reference: Male and mammal

8. ``... Muslim women should take off their shalwars upon departure from home. Perhaps they can tie the shalwars around the waist and look cool. In any case, they should make it a point to bend over now and then to emphasize unIslamic behavior....`` Gender Sexual Reference: Female

9. ``...Under no circumstances should you perform sijda in Athens or any other place in Greece. If you must perform sijda, make sure that you use a strong wall or corner as a cover. For my Pathan and Sardarji friends, this means facing away from the wall or corner...`` Gender Sexual Reference: Male Victim of Male Sexual Assault
