Man and Conflict

<< “All mankind is from Adam and Eve. An Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab any superiority over an Arab; also a White has no superiority over a Black nor a Black has any superiority over a White except by piety and good action.”>>

Sounds vey good. But how about ``Muslim has no superiority over non-Muslim``? How about ``A pious jew is superior to an Islamic jehadi``? Will we muslims be prepared to say, preach and ACCEPT that? If so then 90% (conservative estimate) of all violence in today`s world will end. The answer is NO because no such fatwa has been issued in the history of Islam. If piety and good action were the true criteria, Jesus should alone be accepted as the most superior messaih. Can you accept that? Jesus never killed anyone. Repeat. Jesus never killed anyone. And ALL his actions were good.

If your premise about ``man and conflict`` is correct and religion has nothing to do with it, how come muslims account for a greater proportion of violence and intolerance the world over?

Interesting article. You might have elaborated on the solutions giving pragmatic and practical examples of how human evolution and `bias-shedding`` could take place, highlighting reforming certain laws, setting up inter-faith committees with clout, ammending certain aspects of policy-making.

Perhaps that could be another piece of writing where you concentrate more on empirical evidence rather than propound conceptual theory ?

``...we must recognise that we are all the same essentially. We all want a better life for ourselves and for our children and we need to realise that this doesn’t have to come at the expense of someone else. If we learn to truly share, to be more sensitive to the needs of others and shed our biases, we would have made a major contribution towards the continued evolution of human civilization.``

First of all, please stop being so preachy. Second, don`t be so idealistic. There are real winners and real losers in the real world. People who make it big sometimes do it at the expense of others. It may be idealogically wrong but it happens. Deal with it. Lets be a little more practical and find some practical answers.

to judge human(s) men and women , we should start looking at our homes , familiy politics and see is our own house in order ?
pathaab,
there was this programme on bbc about your vary point of circumcision here in UK apparently it turned out that Americans circumcise not because of religion , they do it for hygene and it was all started by Mr.Kellogs (the ceriel man ) - its more cleaner if your cut anyhow on your basic point ` should this process be done at a age of 18 ? with proper consent and the answer to this question is its more painful at that age and the risks are very high when you are grown up the cutting skin when you are young - about consent again - if you ask anyone whos cut or circumcised he would tell you hes happy with it and its good its done before then now -
religion did play a large part of my life and the more I run away from religion the more closer it comes somehow I don`t know why ? is it Bush ? who forces me to side with religion ? maybe yes
i think war starts when one starts `generalizing` Nazis thought ever Jew is evil so they started holocast , we in Pakistani think every American and Non-believer is evil and vice versa - thus starting a conflict - such idealogy starts clashes `generalization`

Indeed, your article is hard to ignore. Articles like this are needed the most in this negative environment of chowk web site, where majority 95% are fighting 24/7 to prove that they are right and others are wrong. People here go to any extremes to defame, hurt, abuse and harass eachother without ever thinking why are they doing it? What is the motive? Where are they heading up to? Nobody tries to understand others needs. All they want is,I,I and I only. Chowk is the reflection of our societies. And, societies are the reflection of this one world. This chaotic world with all it`s progress and achievements is still empty, in fact, emptier with no soul left. When world came in to being, it started with nothing, started having all the scientific development with amazing inventions for the ease of humans, but, what these developments gave humans? Nothing but, snatched human soul and now this world will end with it`s own progress towards nothing, where we started. We were zero and we will be zero. This is the fate of this world which was written when God, the supreme created this whole universe. God created us with soul, then set us free on our own will, God was testing our beings, we lost our souls, lost our ways to God. Our soul was the only pathway to God, the super supreme. God gave us soul to search and to reach God being. We lost that great gift by being trapped in this foolish game of achievements. We disown God by disowning our souls. Now we are wandering in darkness, and how foolish we are living in fools paradise still thinking we are the best. This is the human tragedy, clinging to soul lessness without realizing what we have done with ourselves? We have just lost our God. We in this game of our superior complexes, thinking we are the best, we are the ones right, we have the right to exist, we have become savages, worst than monsters, extremely selfish, caught up in this war of destroying our souls, we forgot that we are actually destroying our own beings, our selves, we are losers, we are left behind only with this skeleton with muscles, bones and skin..............No soul. This body which will be rotten, decayed and will be nothing, the only thing which will remain be soul, the only link with God.

Religion is a personal issue, faith lives in your soul. No religion in this world teaches us to do error to humans, it is like having a cancer in the soul, if, any religion is to have an error. If any religion has any error, it destroys living beings in this Earth and the eternity. There is no error in religion. Yes, there are all the errors in us, the humans, who blame our own shortcomings upon religions. Again, this is another worst human error, not to realize their own follies and always blaming their own to others and exclusively to religion. While religion is the only source to save humans from committing such errors. How can we blame for our own self created errors upon the most beautiful thing on Earth, called religion/faith? Yes, we do, b/c we are dominated by negative savage nature, which God gave us just to test us for our follies. Like when there is a patient diagnosed with cancer, any doctor loves his/her patient, but hates the cancer and try his/her best to eradicate the cancer in the best possible way even if it is painful for the patient, the patient is thankful to the doctor at the end. Same is with religion. Religion heals your spirit, your soul.

Now, if people start abusing religion to control other humans, that is absolutely wrong. This is a common practice today. Again, religion does not teach us to control others, to enslave others. What clergymen, what mullahs, what rabbis, etc., etc. are teaching today is absolutely wrong. What they are teaching is without soul. They are the main culprit of today`s soul less society. They are preaching the world they are the ones with no follies by misinterpreting their religions. They have the errors, they errored this world in to hell, God made paradise, they shattered the beautiful dream of God, they are the ones, who are controlling the Earth by abusing religions. They are doing all the opposite things, religion is not controlling, they are controlling, religions is polite, they are harsh, religion is soul, they are soul less, religion is God, they claim themselves to be gods. Religion is beautiful, they are ugly predators, religion is the way to God, they are the way going against God. God is the creator, they are leading to destruction. God is spirit, they are not spiritual. A big error in this is everybody`s thinks ,``I am right``. Here is the source of all restlessness..........

The issue is not religion but an ideological interpretation of religion. In the middle ages, the Europeans made a ideological interpretation of Christianity resulting in barabarism like inquisition, sectrian wars between cathloics and protestants, crusades etc. Now that the west has given up an ideologica interpretation of religion, it is simply a benign aspect of life where an individual finds some spiritual solace.

A couple of centuries back, hindus was in the same boat with all kinds of absurd practices like sati, ban against widow remarriage, child marriage etc being lumped as part of religion and it was taboo to speak up against it. The reform movements started by Raja Ram Mohan Roy and several others helped in transforming hinduism to a fairly benign faith that is no longer militant.

The same is true for Islam. Islam is currently in its militant phase and is basically an ideology. People are willing to massacre innocents to make them convert so that ultimately they will save their souls!! Go figure that. The day Islam becomes a benign faith where muslims practice their religion devoutly but treat everyone with tolerance as human beings, the current conflicts will be solved. It is bound to happen as it did with the other religions. It is a matter of time but thousands will die along the way.

Re: # 3

The root of all evil` was what religion has been aptly named and I agree with that.

Religion uses as `masks`, perfectly community (`cultural`) `local` events to represent itself, being the bundle of lies that religion really is.

The classic example is Santa Claus who now `represents` Christmas. You can quote many other examples, and you will find one in each religion- for eg., Holi and Deepavali and the muslim burkha.

And baptism, poonal, and circumcision cannot be cultural, but religious (brainwashing), events.

{No baptism, no poonal, no circumcision for under 18`s?
Any takers? I bet it would be just as popular as a smoking ban! ... and in the end lead to a populace better able to think for itself. }

Are we also banning all coloring, happiness, etc. that promotes cultural values?

Religion, and its virulent cocktail of lies, will die a very quick and natural death, once brainwashing of children is stopped.

This of course, will only happen if the government is genuinely concerned about the next generation of indoctrinated youngsters and outlaws religious teaching of all forms.
Anyone caught taking a child to a mosq should be fined for brainwashing (for a first offence, subsequently have their children taken into care).

And why does a society so keen on child protection allow a religious community to physically mutilate children below the age of consent?

No baptism, no poonal, no circumcision for under 18`s?

Any takers? I bet it would be just as popular as a smoking ban! ... and in the end lead to a populace better able to think for itself.

Correct. As long as there`s no infidel amongst the arab, non-arab, white and black of the above list.
