And here I was, thinking that it is SOLELY hindus that showed restraint!

But no! Muslims DID NOT get angry at Hindus AFTER Muslims exploded bombs in a Hindu temple in Varansi! DID NOT! Did you hear it? No, sirrrreee!

It`s funny how liberally they use the words ``Hindu chauvinism``, while using the words ``Christian chauvinism`` never at all. Maybe it would make a dent in their circulation if they did.

If both of you are located somewhere in the US, please pick up a copy of ``Hagarism`` ... needless to say it does make a case for reconsidering the facts about Muhammad`s life as they have been submitted to us...

My point is that while I might not agree with Patricia Crone ... there is enough evidence to suggest that existing literature on Muhammad is of later origin... and that we don`t have a clue really as to what he really did or didn`t do.

Varanasi blast not linked to Pakistan: Time Mag

WASHINGTON: The bomb blasts in the Hindu holy city of Varanasi are being linked to a local Indian group or an Islamist outfit from Bangladesh, a report in Time magazine, quoted Indian intelligence sources as saying.

For a change, the “usual suspect” Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba is not being accused of the outrage that caused several deaths and many injuries. When a Time correspondent asked an Indian intelligence official who might have carried out the attacks, he was told, “There aren’t any definite pointers as yet. Given the target, it’s probably an Islamist group, but there’s nothing to connect them to Lashkar-e-Taiba.” The officer added that the amateur nature of the devices suggested the bombers were poorly funded, and most likely had no support from any government.

Asked who could be behind the blasts, the intelligence official replied, “Some say it’s all the same cell. And if there are any substantive indications at all, they point to a group that came over from Bangladesh.”

The Time report points out that tt would be naive to think that India has “shed its Hindu chauvinism overnight.” After the latest attack, it notes, former BJP Deputy Prime Minister Lal Krishna Advani announced he would he embarking on a “yatra,” to protest the pandering to “minorities” - meaning Muslims - that he said had led to the bombings. As relations with Pakistan warm, the magazine report says, “India’s nationalist hawks are all too eager to find another ‘anti-India’ bogeyman in the rising Islamic fundamentalist movement in India’s its eastern neighbour, Bangladesh.”

Yes- put them together. Then consider- Gandhi lived in the 20th century ... Muhammad lived in the 7th century.

Also... when we are talking of specific things... why not place Gandhi`s sayings on Black people and compare them to Muhammad`s sayings on black people.

What happens then? Suddenly Gandhi the Mahatma of the 20th century loses out to a 7th century Arab.

I got your point in my last point itself, and I made the point that he:

1) was already VERY good friends with Abu Bakr for a long time,

and therefore,

2) Had NO NEED to create any bond through matrinony.

[Muhammad did approach Abu Bakr for Aisha`s hand in marriage. That was when she was Six. That was the time when the odds were high against Muhammad and he needed Abu Bakr and his clan`s full support. Abu Bakr was not Banu Hashim remember?]

That is not correct. This was Muhammad`s 12th(?) or last marriage. By this time, the most perfect one had already consolidated his position a very long time ago. So this reasoning is actually not correct.

Also, if you had paid any attention to my post, you`d realize that Abu Bakr was coerced into agreeing to give his daughter`s hand in marriage. The poor guy must have loved his daughter, and tried to wriggle out of it, saying that this marriage was not tenable because Muhammed was his brother. But the perfect one said no no no, the marriage is perfectly legal. So the poor guy had to agree.
