I have challenged your contention that Gandhi`s views were normal for his time ... either challenge my view on the prevailing situation in Gandhi`s time... or prove that Muhammad`s time (7th century) was as humane as Gandhi`s time (20th century).. and that Muhammad indeed was an anomaly... In any event... Gandhi is ``celebrated`` for fighting against racism... Muhammad`s relationship to the Jews is completely incidental... and it is not his treatment of the jews good or bad that he is celebrated...

Islam and The Ebola Virus

There is this theory in Medicine about infectious diseases. The theory says that those diseases become pandemics which are lethal, but act relatively slowly. Diseases like the Ebola Virus have a lesser chance of being Pandemics than for example the dreaded Bird Flu. The reason being that whoever catches the Ebola virus dies extremely quickly, and the infected person gets little time to infect others. The Influenza virus on the other hand, can be equally lethal, but acts slowly, giving the infected person sufficient time to infect others.

This theory applies to Islam as well. Islam spreads best by deceit - apologists rationalizing for the million monstrosities that make up their prophet`s life, denying or obfiscating about the Quran and the Hadith where it suits them. Sometimes it is the absolute word of god for all people and all times, sometimes it is only version 1.0.0. Sometimes it is a medieval ideology that doesn`t apply any more, sometimes it is how nations should be run today. Mullahs like Urstruly say one thing, people like Salim smile reassuringly at the world and say don`t worry - he`s misinterpreting. It is this duplicitous behaviour of Islam together with the constant rationalizations offered by the Lefty Liberals that keeps the world from realizing Islam`s true nature, and Islam keeps chugging on through history infecting more and more people.

It is only when Islam behaves like the Ebola Virus, as exemplified by Osama and company, that Islam is in danger of dying out completely. Let`s hope for more Osamas, more Talebans, more Iranian Mullahs, more Mohammed Attas and more Iraqi ``insurgents`` so that this curse on humanity can be eradicated forever, in our own lifetimes.

Saying that America gave Blacks civil rights to black people in 1980s (actually 1960s but whatever) is a bad argument ... The US was behind the times ... it was an exclusivist society of land and plantation owners who remained entrenched in power in an exclusivist system till 1952... when Plessey Vs Ferguson was finally overturned in Brown vs Board of Education.

The British had abolished slavery and given civil rights to black people (equal rights including the right to reside in any part of London) through common law in the 1700s... and the legal tradition of the Britain where Gandhi became a barrister was steeped in equality of man... The logic that Gandhi gave remains at the root of Hindu caste system and purity for which he was taken to task by many leaders...

Come on, the reason the Indian Muslims are living in such desperate conditions is that all the educated Muslims and the upper-class and the middle-class Muslims left en masse for Pakistan during and after the Partition. That is why Indian Muslims are at the tender mercies of the mullahs.

Pakistani Muslims, on the other hand, are the most enlightened, benign Muslims that you can find anywhere. There is no hate, big0try, violence or extremism in Pakistan which is a veritable Garden of Eden, the very idea of Heaven on Earth, a place to which Afghans, Chechens, Saudis, Egyptians, Uighurs, etc., travel for higher education.
