A very dear friend of mine, who b.t.w finds himself in US of A, expressed himself quite effectively while at the same time consuming a minimum of line space...he read the article on chowk, and as he is not a member and does not wish to be one, as would become clear shortly, I took it upon myself to communicate to you people his comments...
voilà

Charlie buddy...the very mention of your `bar` has motivated me to visit Paris :)...that Tower thing and bahria town phase nine famed ``shanzay lizay`` (yes dear readers! they had it spelt like this in Bahria Town Ads. for quite some time until somebody put them out of their misery) can wait...
par contre Charlie reminds me of that ``Ainak Wala Jin`` character ``Charlie Mamoun``...not quite bad actually...and not quite fits you...since I have had the oppurtunity to meet you...in both worlds...that is the third and the first...
c ya à Paris...``fursat, kasha-kashay ghumé hustee say gur milee``...

And it makes me remember my first days in France. My first drink in France was drinking Sangria with some Milosovic fame Serbian friends who welcomed me to the community of the infidels with a loud cheers in a spanish bar.
Before that in Pakistan, at the ambassador`s party, when I received my airplane tickets from him while I was holding a glass of Gin in my hand, media photographer avoided taking my photo and the next day, all of my ``good muslim`` friends were showing up in the newspaper except me. Good side of the story was that I never had to make any effort laters to let someone know that I wasn`t good at pretending like good muslims.

That was ``le lapin rouge``...thanks for the comments...encouraging as well as otherwise...and I am not a representative of Pakistani people...I have not won an election to get the scholarship...that was a consequence of my excellent grades...and what is ``our laws``by the way...and as for sensitivity of the majority of population...the majority of our population has a tendency to over react and to be overly and overtly sensitive at times...as ``stuka`` mentioned...you need to unwind haroon...and quite a lot...for that matter

Dear writer
Good one.
Just enjoy your wine. Don`t worry about any one. Life is too, short to waste on all this. Live for the moment. And the moment is here and now.
Take care

Ahmad Hayat,
your article rendered me nostalgic of my epoch in Paris. so you were in the ``quartier Latin`` one of my favourite must-see chill-outs in the city of charm, along with le marais bien sur !
Sunday sipping coffees at l`Île de la Cité overlooking the evanescence of Notre Dame and its rose-tinted windows, Ste. Chapelle, the Conciergerie, the cell of ``cake-devouring`` marie antoinette and the Palais De Justice.
so which bars did you drink dry whilst at the latin quarter ? on your next trip to ``le bleu blanc rouge`` you must dine at maxim`s, tour d`argent, la coupole and if it is hedonistic revelling then max it out at man ray, la suite, regines, le vip or kabaret !

Is this Charlie? I loved the article...Its hilarious and really carries you along for the ride.
Very enjoyable read. Haroon, chill dude. U are too young to put a dampner on someone like this. I fully expect u to unwind and have a great time when u go abroad for studies.

Nops Stuka, It is not Charlie. However, it seems to be one of his batch mates from his good old university in Pakistan.
Good Article Ahmad. Keep on writing and sharing your experiences.
About drinking in front of pakis: best way is to read loudly ``Bismillah`` if it is wine and ``Allah Shafi, Allah Kafi`` if it is a shot. Hopefully, it will fix their heads and remove any doubts if left. ;)
A serious note: Keep a good distance from those who tell you 3xx series of emulsifiers, chicken and wine are bad for good muslims.
Do visit me when you come to Paris. My mini bar awaits you. :)

A. Your not French.
B. Your not Christian.
C. Your not European.
D. Your not White.
E. Your a Pakistani.
F. You are a representative of the Pakistani people when you abroad and availing a government sponsered opportunity to go to France. You should respect our laws and the sensititivites of majority of our population.
