zeemax,
..... i beg to disagree - it had everything to do with sex ....... the reason muhammad did not mess around while khadija was around was because she had his number ........ not only did she finance his enterprise, she was also one of the very few ``eye witnesses`` to this whole revelation thing (ali being the other - i am surprised he didn`t blow the cover when he was superseded for the post of caliph) .......... there was no way muhammad was going to piss off khadija - she had him by the short hairs .........
..... but this is just another theory - i am sure there are others that are equally valid

Khalid, Kashmir is not even an issue to you, whether it be religious or territorial :0)
So, we must always ask: issue *to whom?*

Quite true.
It is not fashionable to acknowledge one`s religious motivations. Therefore we must focus on what issues get individuals agitated, where their sympathies lie.

Khalid Ahmed Sahib,
You are so fortunate in being named after that great Muslim general and pious man, Khalid bin Waleed. :) He was the bravest of Islam`s enemies and his skills at the battle of Ohud resulted in the defeat of Muslims and injury to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) himself. After that, the brave warrior accepted Islam and used to wear a cap made from the Holy Prophet`s (PBUH) hair. He was relieved from his command by the stern Caliph Omar, because the infidels were saying that Muslims could not win without the leadership of Khalid.
My point is that you have done some valuable research into Islam, its shortcoming, and how Muslims are devastating their own religion in these troubled times. Your efforts will, Inshallah, bear fruit and one day we will correct all these horrible problems that keep our faith struggling in last place when it comes to human progress.
Thank you for your diligence in documenting what is wrong with Islam and Muslims. Only a person who cares for Islam and Muslims can go through this difficult research and hard work to help out the unfortunate faith and its errant followers. With your help, Inshallah, we shall overcome. A friend of Islam like you is worth much more than a thousand of these bearded, violent, irrational, and Koran-citing enemies of our faith. May Allah bless you.

I suppose your point is as follows.
People can be inconsistent.
All the time.
Perhaps we should stop trying to understand people.
But the reverse is not true.

#331, Any issue involving human beings can take on a religious character, for an obvious reason - most human beings can be easily identified by their religion, unfortunately.
Northern Ireland is a Prostate/Catholic issue
Illegal immigration into US is a Catholic issue
Polygamy in US is a Mormon issue
Terrorism, world-wide, is a Muslim issue
Iraq is a Shia/Sunni issue
Khalistan is a Sikh/Hindu issue
Kashmir is a Hindu/Muslim issue
Mindanao is a Catholic/Muslim issue
Phuket in Thailand is a Buddhist/Muslim issue
Afaghanistan is a Muslim/Muslim issue :)
Soodi Arabia is a Muslim/Wahaabi issue. :)
Tibet is a Buddhist/Confucianism issue.
Saturday/Sunday weekend is a Judeo-Christian conspiracy - how selfish.

Territorial issues in which religion is not implicated have a very different character.
Like Kashmir, Palestine is both a territorial dispute and a religious dispute. For some it is more terroritorial than religious, for others it is more religious than territorial.

[Like Kashmir, Palestine is both a territorial dispute and a religious dispute. For some it is more terroritorial than religious, for others it is more religious than territorial. ]
Kashmir is a dispute purely created by Pakistan, which never wants to play by the rules of any game. Religion is only an excuse used by the pakis. The whole Kashmir thing is based on the ridiculous paki premise that Hari Raja was the hindu ruler of a muslim majority state, so he had no say.
So frikkin what? Saddam was a Sunni ruler of a Shia majority country.
Mushy is a mohajir ruler of a pakjabi majority country.
JFK was a catholic ruler of a non-catholic majority country.
There are countless other examples.
So shall we tear up all the legal documents and treaties signed by all these guys? Pakistan is a poor loser in everything and the sickest whiners in the entire world.
Kashmir is not even worthy of a territorial dispute. Pakis can barely hang on to the land they have with absolutely no administrative control in vast parts of its existing land. It doesn`t deserve any more land.

Let me count the stupid ways we Muslims shoot ourselves in the foot:
1. Muslims, along with zealots of other religions, break every one of the ten commandments and then devise some more so that there is no shortage of commandments to break or to severely punish others for violations.
2. Our ``Islamic`` laws are based on the latest 9th century advancements in human development
3. Killing animals is bad enough, but the kosher/zabiha rituals are too cruel.
4. Covering up of women and restricting their access to public places surpasses even ancient Jewish customs that pre-dated Jesus.
5. Killing in the name of the one true God.
6. Dying in the name of the one true God.
7. Intolerance against others, even our own, who disagree even slightly.
8. Meticulous attention to ritualistic details at the expense of the big picture.
9. Irrational and extreme obsession with taboos - alcohol, sex, nudity, food, shaking hands with women/men, and refusal to applaud.
10. Unequal treatment of men and women.
11. Blind obedience to irrational interpretations of vague Koranic verses - at the detriment of the basic decency of Islam.
12. Insincere display of piety through ``Islamic`` fashion - beards, hijab, flowing gowns, public wazoo, prayer beads and ``rosaries.``

What I hate most about Jews is that we Muslims have been forced to copy their most horrible practices and rituals, that they themselves have discarded. What I hate even more is that we Muslims have enshrined and codified this stupid behavior as ``Islamic`` law.

Farzana,
Funny and witty. :) I liked that one.

...... muslims complaing about bad pr is like that lovable curmudgeon rummy complaining about media bias over iraq ........... there is no good news coming out of the muslim world - it is difficult to get excited about girls going to school in kabul when they are threatening to execute some poor yokel for dumping mo and accepting jesus as his saviour .........
............ and with people like urstruly and sister zeena defending the faith it is easy for folks like khalid ahmed to have a fied day .........
....... by the way, who is this khalid ahmed and what does he want ? ..... is he blind in the right eye and can he perform miracles ?............. if so, we are all in a heap of trouble
p.s ..... true story: last week i was having dinner with a jewish guy and a christian who i have known for twenty plus years .... when the jewish guy went to the restroom jeff turns to me and says, ``you know i am an anti semite who hates both jews and arabs, but dave is one heck of a nice guy - it is too bad he is married to a b**`` ......... there is no moral to the story, so don`t look for one .............. but on another occassion the same guy said, `` you know what the problem with you muslims is ?...... you cannot control your suicide bombers....as far as i am concerned you are the only muslim who is not out to kill me``......... again, there is no moral to the story because the guy is a harvard mba and a dipsomaniac and therfore, like the kennedys, quite unreliable .........

- What is the ``entire game`` about?
Oil.
- What are the ``evil forces``?
People whose civilization depends on `Oil`.
- Since you seem to know why are you not sharing with the non-jehadi muslims?
I am. Through information.
- How come jews know about the ``evil forces`` but muslims dont? Are you suggesting that the muslims are intellectually inferior to the jews?
Not inferior, but naive. They haven`t seen the horrors which Jews have. But they will.
