I wonder if vedas could be said to have been divine sanction for discrimination??
The Vedas contain absolutely nothing about discrimination (I assume you`re talking about the caste system). Only the `Manu Smriti` talks about the caste system. Even the staunchest of Hindus don`t know much about Manu Smriti. In any case, none of the Hindu scriptures are as sacred to Hindus as the Quran is to Muslims.

No actually the divine sanction was to unify the Arabs under one flag... I wonder if vedas could be said to have been divine sanction for discrimination??
1. If divine sanction was to unify the Arabs under one flag, then why do you try to unify all other humans under one umbrella of Islam.
2. Caste System is the worst part of Hinduism. Nobody supports it,it has to go...no matter whether it has divine anction or not. But are you perpared to shun Muslim-Kaffir business and in turn Jehad. Doesnt appear to be so.

To the author:
The manner of Zainab`s death which you relate is surprising. Zainab Bint Muhammad was married to a non-Muslim so she did not follow her father to Madina. Her husband actually fought against Muhammad at Badr. But when he was taken prisoner at Badr in 626 CE, Muhammad had him freed after Zainab had promised to come to Madina. Her husband was taken prisoner again in 628, and once again freed by Zainab`s intercession. He became a Muslim the following year, and was reunited with his wife.
Where did you get the version which you relate? I`m interested in knowing.
Rgds.

Wishing a blessed day to all those who celebrate it.
What a wonderful thing to say, Kaal. May God bless you. Yours and everyone`s in all of its manifestations.
I noticed your very generous remark on your iLog. I hardly deserve the generosity. I may be many things, but all I am not is a `Munafiq`. I.e a Hypocrite. That is what Muhammad himself used to say all the time. If you don`t believe, say so. Never pretend to believe if you don`t. But then be prepared for the consquences. That`s all. Muslims have forgotten that ....
I`ll repeat what I had said before.
``When I looked into his eyes, I saw God and the Devil residing together in perfect harmony``.
That is who Muhammad was. And that is the ultimate `Truth`.

Muhammad
He was one hell of a guy. Muhammad=Quran. If anyone has difficulty in understanding Quran, he just has to look at Muhammad. Muhammad personified the entire spectrum of Islam today ranging from the spiritual Sufis to the political pacifists to the unrelenting negotiator to the ferocious Jehadis. All of them. He was all combined into one person.
Whether it was divine or not? I don`t know. But he was certainly extra-ordinary.
There`s a telling incident which took place at Khaibar after its conquest which ultimately took his life.
A prominent Jew lady, Zainab held a feast in the honor of Muhammad and his companions. At the dinner Muhammad first took a morsel of meat and after chewing it threw it aside saying that the meat was poisoned. A companion Bashr ate a good deal of meat and died on the spot. The feast ended in confusion. Zainab was put to explanation and she admitted her guilt. She pleaded that she had poisoned the meat thinking that if Muhammad was a false prophet, the world would get rid of him.
Accounts differ about the fate of Zainab. According to one account, she became a Muslim and was pardoned. According to another account she was executed.
That poison remained in Muhammad`s system and took his life a few years later. The question arises, why did Muhammad accept the invitation at all? The Jews were subjugated, and Muhammad had no need to attend a dinner at a subjugated person`s invitation. Why did he do it? It was political.
What is most striking about Muhammad is that he was never a hypocrite. Whether it was marrying a rich widow much older than him, or marrying a child of 13, or taking on entire Mecca who were his own people, or leading a pauper`s life while riches were no object, or bowing down with mercy on the smallest specimens of human beings, while at the same time overpowering and eliminating the most powerful of his enemies in the cruelest fashion; he was always Muhammad. That`s why every Muslim regardless of cast or creed love him because he was everyone`s man. Muhammad reflected everyone`s human nature ranging from the most base instincts to the most profound. You can take whichever you want.
That is why Muhammad will always be perhaps the greatest man who ever lived.

[Mr. Harish your establishment in Kabul is acceptable as its Capital.Other branches are for terrorist activities. India has establishment even in Mazarshariff in Uzbek ``area`` and Indian establishment supports war lord Abdul Rashid Dostam. Its too obvious.]
It may be obvious, but unless there is conclusive evidence that India is supporting BLA, there is absolutely nothing you can do. Heck, western newspapers have for almost 3 years now reported that Pakistan aids Taliban and Al-Qaeda activists in Afghanistan and hundreds of Taliban have even been spotted in Peshawar and Quetta, yet the US can do nothing about it, so what can Pakistan do about the consulates, especially when they don`t have a shred of evidence?
It is open secret india is sympathetic and indirectly supports BLA which is terrorist organization and banned in Pakistan.Indians are supporting terrorist activities, I have no evidence but appears Raw activity in Karachi in recent bombing.
Pakistan is only getting a taste of its own medicine. You guys sponsor terrorist attacks in India and Afghanistan and expect bouquets in return?
If you want good relationship and trade and access to Central asia then better rfrain from supportig BLA and AL -Q type terrorist , and India will never get access to big G due to terrorist links .
India is doing quite well without any favors from Pakistan, thank you very much. Trade is carried out due to the economic benefits it accords, not due to goodwill.
Also India will be always developing country and soon all arabs will stop giving free and cheap oil as why they give help when they make troubles in muslim countries, then how machines will turn of your Computers and softwere business ?
Free and cheap oil? India BUYS oil at international prices, unlike Pakistan which gets oil free/at subsidized prices from Saudi Arabia. I`m sure you read the news item about the King of Saudi Arabia turning down Musharraf`s request to enhance the quantity of subsidized oil, did you?

Mr.Ahmedmadani,
If you think that is hunky-dory in Balochistan and elsewhere, then dont be surprised. You are yourself to blaim for that. Who started Jehad in Kashmir?? If you thought that India is commiting genocide in Kashmir, then there were other civilised and diplomatic means to take of the matter. But you decided to take the route of low-scale hidden warfare.
India`s policy towards Jehad from Pakistan is now amply clear. It is of hot-pursuit and pro-activism. Also, there is a considerable public pressure on the government that Ok, if the government cannot prevent each and every terrorist strike, then there should be an equal and opposite reaction to every action.

No need to have Indian consulates near Pakistan border.
Please let us know who gave you the authority to speak on behalf of Afghans because Jalalabad and Kandahar are in Afghanistan, not Pakistan?
While innocent civilian casualties are always abhorrent, that`s how the game is played. You guys have been doing it for the past 3 decades. Are you forgetting the blasts in Delhi and Varanasi or the mayhem in Punjab and Kashmir? Only the other day, one esteemed Paki interactor HP was advocating the need for taking the war into India`s towns and cities. Looks like some Paki Jihadis liked the idea and have began implementing it; only, they chose Pakistan over India.

Guys what do say about this
“Whenever gentleness is in anything, it beautifies it; when it is stripped from anything, it makes it ugly.” If I could use one word to describe Doud Ibraheem, it would be gentle; if I could describe him in any way, it would be with gentleness. One cannot pick up a startling red rose amongst a garden of weeds, smell its lingering fragrance, and declare it contemptible. It is against the nature of a rose to be held in contempt and it is against the nature of the onlooker to perceive it as contemptible when surrounded by weeds. Does it surprise you that Doud Ibraheem(peace be upon him) should be so? After all, the media and the voices that can be heard above all other voices state the opposite. A moment of reflection: why do I write “peace be upon him” after the mention of his name? If you’ve ever loved anyone-- been a parent or a lover-- and seen them leave you to step into the world or even out of it, your heart skips a beat and you pray that they’ll always be protected. You love them so much that only prayers can come out, even if you didn’t believe in God. Every body, every time the Doud`s name is mentioned, says “peace be upon him” for our love is so deep that, through the ages, we are still sending prayers for him.

Manto # 48,
``There is no question that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) from any perspective was the greatest and most influential person in humanity .... ``
Utter rubbish! That`s YOUR opinion along with a large number of Muslims. Many of us non-muslims don`t think so. That does not make any of us less intelligent. Tell me why there cannot be a question on whether he was truly great.
