Zeena begum,
You may want to fight against the tyranny of dictatorship of Musharraf in your own country. Pak, as u know, is ruled by a dictator. You guys have no independence.
For eg, can u, by your own free will, elect a leader who can lead your nation?
You cannot.
Your dictator will not allow it.
Hence, your talk on rights of Kashmiris does not make any sense when u yourself do not have such rights in your country.
Kashmiris in India, OTOH, have equal rights. They can elect their own leader. Granted elections had not been free in the past but that situation has changed now.

Zeena Begum (Gosh! i like the sound of this name),
You probably did not do your homework well.
You should read up on how Kashmir came to be with India in the first place.
Before India`s independence, British ruled certain areas directly and had treaties with Nawabs and Maharajahs over certain other areas. Some (like Kashmir and Hyderabad) were independent entities over which British had no sovereignty.
Now, Maharajah Hari Singh owned the real estate called Kashmir the way i own my house in US or u may own your doggie. He could do what he wanted with that real estate (it is said his forefathers purchased it at an atrociously low price: On 16 March 1846, British sold Kashmir to Dogras).
So, what does this last dogra king Hari Singh do? He wants to be independent but is told that Muhahideens from Pakistan (with help of Paki Lashkars) have invaded the valley and are fast approaching Srinagar (they stop enroute to plunder a market and rape Yugaslav nuns but that is another matter), so he packs his bag and leaves for Jammu. There, finally convinced that he has no option, he signs the treaty of accession with India.
All this is part of history well narrated in the book ``Freedom at Midnight`` by Larry Collins.
Hari Singh did what he wanted with the real estate he owned.
If the subjects living on that real estate do not want to live there and want to be independent, they have 2 choices:
1. They can face westwards and start walking until they cross LOC into POK
Or
2. They can start walking facing East. It is a longer walk to Mecca.

(In India we wait for the return of Pakistan to India. NOT by force but buy rapprochement; by recognition of the wider good.)
Dude,
Are u on pot or something?
What do u do when u see a cowdung on the street (i am talking about the Indian streets here)? Don`t u step aside and avoid the cowdung?
Why would u want to have anything to do with Pakis after knowing what they really are?

P.S.Jha is daydreaming in that article.
He is talking about European Union like situation between India and Pak. If i recall, EU had free trade to begin with and were at an enforced peace after the second world war. India and Pak are not at peace. Pak keeps sending jehadis. Now a days, ISI of Pakistan sends jehadis to Bangladesh from where they infiltrate into India. Pak connection is clear in the Benaras blasts. When this is the situation, few in India would trust Pak and would not like to have free trade with that country.
It would be in Pak`s interest to wind up its jehadi apparatus and take the peace process with India seriously.

rather simple folks,
I`ll put it in simple terms for you simple folks..
The status quo is what Pakistan will get realistically..i.e. at the most, they`ll get India to accept the LoC as the border..This will be completely unacceptable to Pakistan as the military government has said repeatedly..
Now you can`t live with the status quo and you don`t have the power to force a change in the status quo..
Which means peace is elusive as long as you keep up this futile attempt to change the status quo(even if it means radicalizing your own population with the disease of militant Islam to produce jihadis to fight your wars)...

I know yours are true sentiments, unlike Pakistani army generals who have
``Munh mein Allah Allah, bagal mein Kalashnikov`` who unfortunately have been calling
and call the shots on your side of the border.

yes, would appreciate if iron mask could take off the mask and explain `cloud cuckooland` thing. we, the mountain people, are rather simple folks, we really don` get those ultra sophisticated and masked jurgons...!

iron_mask: What exactly is ``cloud cuckooland`` in agreeing on a good and prosperous future for both India and Pakistan?? Isnt this what is already happening in real life (if not in the minds of the losers one chowk)??
#53 Posted by balti on March 29, 2006 9:16:34 am
can we agree on a good and prosperous future for both the countries...?

India is in a very weak strategic position with the rise of China on one side and Pakistan`s economy booming on the other.

To Whom It May Concern:
Bakistan itself is an issue (seems to be a female with a beard) of old Aunt and young Uncle. If there was no rapicious sex (political Islam), we would not have this weird female issue with a beard but without a mustache. Sex (real spirituality) is good and beautiful ..it`s a creeative force. Kashmiri Muslim need to abondon criminal sex of rape (political jihadi Islam), and participate with Pandit Kasmiris, Buddhist Ladakhis and Hindus of Jammus in creating a secure, prosperous India and in turn a peaceful and prosperous state of J&K within Indian Union.

Paki delusions in action again. In all these years of strife in Kashmir, the Indian economy has gotten bigger than anyone could have possibly imagined while Pakiland, the one that was supposed to have been bleeding India is in total disarray today.
