Is Iran Headed for War?

And I was here to comment on this article when I found a holy man being nasty to another interactor. Editor - Either you need to ban this maniac who likes to post repulsive remarks or you need to route him to the famous Chowk`s psychiatrist. Enough is enough! And this fellow claims to be a physician? Probably, he needs self-healing on an exotic island! Chowk is proving to be destructive for his nerves. Thank God, he is a hindu. There are already enough nasty muslim men on Chowk. Who needed one more?

#59 From what i understand, Ahmedinajad has only the power of the pulpit. It`s the Ayatollahs who pull the strings. I agree that Ahmedinajad should put a nookie in his mouth and not say another word.
As for Iran`s testing missiles and such, they are really worried of an israeli attack on their nuclear facilities and these tests are a message to the israelis.
Iraq was a militarily neutered and economically weakened country. Iran on the other hand would be very difficult to invade. Just as with North Korea where the mutual sabre rattling got the Koreans and the US to a detente, so will it happen with iran. Attacking iran outright would be suicidal for the US since that would feed into the jehadi campaign even more. There will be some softening up by way of economic sanctions and such as a prelude to a military engagement but that engangement is unlikely to come any time soon.

It`s as real as it gets...leading pols in both parties warmongering SOBs...don`t have any illusions about it...Haven`t you heard Hillary criticizing Bush for not being tough on Iran..

after 9/11, we`ve teleported into a bizzaro world where strong on security means more willing to go to war...so the next time you hear that rat joe liberman say he`s strong on security, the sack of shit means he`s more willing to go to war..

the plan might be different..it`ll be more kosovo than iraq..bombings from a distance, sinking iran`s navy and grounding it`s AF..

I am absolutely against Iran getting nukes but that doesn`t mean I`m eager for these SOBs to start bombing away..

Hamesha, the US war on Iraq was not a mistake. If anyone thinks that it was a mistake because Iraq rather than being `liberated` is completely destroyed, or that the population is irrevocably split, or that just 2000+ US soldiers are dead in three years occupying a whole country, or that Bush`s popularity rating is down and some americans are yelling ``liars!``, then they need their head examined.

US will make the same `mistake` over and over again till it has resolved the issue of ``Oil is our civilization and we will never allow demons to sit on it.`` (Quoth James Baker III on the first Gulf war).

But how serious is all this talk about the invasion of Iran... I get the sense that it is the same sort of talk just beneath the surface that went on before the invasion of Iraq... however many suggest that the US cannot make the same mistake twice... any thoughts?
