pleasent read...
things that almost everybody knows but just can`t express, one`s got to be more articulate to write about common things n` experiences
the start of the article was a bit hither n` thither (not that i could have written any better) but got better and the best read was
<<< Life at present, waking up in our crumpled beds, not looking or smelling as fresh as Hollywood.................................................................. at home with family and realizing more everyday that they just don’t get you. How can we accept that as our life? >>>
so very true !!!!

I think we give up too easy and tend to confuse probability and fate.
well done sapnamalik.

Another angle:
i feel fate is a dependant variable. My fate is not in my hands but in the hands of those who surround me. We are building blocks of each others destiny.
And…
Things don’t go according to plan because we don’t share the plan. We need people on our side for our plans to work out (the right kind of people). The world is a stage and we all need an audience cheering us on. We all need a posse.

right, and what do u suggest for spatial temporal realities? I didn`t see a frantic statement about that in the article.
And you start off with an interesting case in the first sentence, but then all through the article you don`t provide a single argument for or against it and suddenly out of, well whatever you have written between the beginning and the end, a saintly conclussion jumps out. I think a couplet would have done more justice here than the above string of thoughts.

I liked your article. It felt that I could really relate to your thought process.

We all harbor fantasies of when we’ll quit this job and do something that we love and will be really good at, of when we’ll marry who we love, of when we will be better. And somehow having those things will make us better looking, smarter, wittier, and more popular. The people we tell ourselves are our friends will be mad with envy and that’s when we’ll really be living the life we deserve...........
These are the thoughts which sometimes engulf my mind as well...........it do happen with so many people.....

{You already carry around your source of happiness inside you, and you don’t need to look for it in things or events or people. And if that’s not optimism what is.}
life is not what we think life is what we cannot think. your conclusion seems a rigid form of selfishness not optimism (rethink). the happiness inside you is the happiness outside you related to the people events or things eventually. if someone whom you love and care is ill or is in misery do you think you can be happy? (if you still can be happy you are selfish but if you cause to lesson his misery or illness you will be the happiest one is`nt it). happiness is a relative term it depends. hence find happiness in others which is suppose to be the eternal one. try it.

I sort of agree to many things you said ... but that`s the name of the game ... and life is a game that plays it`s own rule.... At times I ponder on fate and destiny but at the end of the day I believe every individual has to rationalize himself and perhaps find contentness/happiness within him. A child living in Ethopia may not have fancy toys to play but doesn`t mean that he is unhappy... may be he is really happy cos after giving some cognitive thoughts I firmly believe that`s it`s how you rationalize things ... nice piece of writing Sapna ..
