#125 I am not going to waste my time getting into an argument with you, and so I did not bother to read your lengthy post. I have said all I wanted to say to you in my posts below.

VRV #126 you are new to chowk and I thought your earlier response to masadi was on the mark. And I appreciate the civilized tone of your post even though I may not agree with it.

Here is my response:

1. On no love lost between sri lankan tamils and indians: That may well be so. But if suicide bombings (which is almost wholly done by Arabs, not by Pakistanis with the London-bombers who were bred in an environment outside Pakistan being the exception that proves the rule), then by the same token there is no call for equating Pakistanis - let alone all Pakistanis or all muslims - with suicide bombers. And yet this is exactly what these chowk Indians are doing below and something they have been doing day in day out on chowk for years now. So what do you say to that??

I am the first to acknowledge that we Pakistanis need to acknowledge the injustice done to hindus and sikhs who lived in areas forming part of Pakistan back in 1947. By the same token, I will also say that terrible injustice has been done to non-hindus in India that I dont see any Indians on chowk having any concern about - I refer not just to the Gujerat attacks on muslim families but also to the vicious attacks on sikhs who were chased and killed by hindu mobs in Delhi after Indira Gandhi`s killing and to the vicious attacks on christian missionaries by hindu mobs. By contrast, the proudest day for me as a Pakistani was after the fall of Dhaka when bengalis openly celebrated their ``independence in the heart of Pakistan in the Panjab, and no Pakistanis bothered them. So, instead of talking vaguely about a ``million page history`` of Pakistan I think you should take a more clear-eyed view of the facts and decide for yourself which country has a greater history of such shameless attacks by mobs on minorities.

3. On dowry killings - you are wrong sir. Again, look at the facts on this. I am not saying that other forms of oppression dont also happen in Pakistan - they do (honor killings being a particularly vicious thing). All I am saying is, please dont act as if India is like some western country where such things dont happen. Indians who try to do this (and acting ``holier than thou`` seems to come naturally to too many Indians) fool no one other than themselves.

Although we disagree, I ope you will consider my points dispassionately. I dont have any ill-will towards hindus in general, nor against your country or culture. I wish Indians well, and consider that social and economic progress in India is indirectly to Pakistan`s benefit too. But please dont try to hide facts or pretend that India is socially anywhere less primitive than Pakistan - if anything, things are worse in India from all indications.

1. Suicide bombings is a new culture in our midst. Unfortunately Pakistanis are learning it quickly. Latest Eg. 1. Nistar Park 2. Moharram procession was bombed by a suicide bomber in Frontier. Let`s forget about 7/7 and their organic link with Pakistan. I wouldn`t go deep into the history of SBs. We all see that it`s catching up in Pakistan, which is dangerous not just for you but for all of us in the neighbourhood.

2. Anti-Sikh riots was a blot on India. Like in 1947, we have at least 20 noble families who saved the innocent Sikhs agaisnt 80 ignoble people who are riotous. I wouldn`t go into details as to who fished in our troubled Indian Punjab.

3. I never said that India is a western country. I dont know your age is but wait for 20-30 years and u would find a different India. We dont have any regressive legislation or a backward Constitution. We have the best; it`s the people who are not living up to them. With increased literacy and increased opportunities we`e overcome all these primitive traits.

Though you branched out as Pakistan, you carry what we had in common for centuries together. As I said we have pockets of ignorance, dark corners and uncilised people but the
ideals are infront of us to remind us. India`s poor - wealthwise but not ethically.

Since you can access Indian newspapers pl read them on the NET, at least for an year to know the steady view of India.

What makes you think he is not reading them? he reads selectively to suit his prejudices!

This is a consistent theme you will encounter from Pakis here, our failures are a proof that India is worse off than Pakistan. Our glaring success (obvious to the rest of the world) hidden in their huge anti-India blind spot.

Pakis are being singled out at airports for extra scrutiny, not Indians.

The NSA is monitoring people calling Pakistan, not India.

Pakiland is known the world over for jihadi terrorism while India is known for IT.

Pakiland is known for it`s madrassahs while India is known for it`s IITs and IIMs..

Pakis are picking imaginary cherries...like the paki who thinks Pakiland`s IT exports are 400 million $ or the other crack analyst who thinks the Afghan FM was replaced by Paki influence because the pakis weren`t happy with what he was saying(never mind the fact that the American forces are repeatedly bombing Paki territory and the new FM is saying the same things)

Pakis have made clutching at straws into an art form...clutching at imaginary straws that is..

Pakis are allah`s chosen people...allah`s jews, if you will..they can spread fundamentalist islam around the globe, kill hundreds of thousands of muslim , force the taliban on the afghans for their own strategic goals and still claim the moral high ground and claim that pakis actually have nothing to do with radical islam...

That might play in pakiworld, the magical mystical alternate univere most pakis dwell in, but it doesn`t fly in the real world..in the real world the paki gets a knot in his stomach every time he gets off the plane at a western airport..

Hanuman may or may not have flown to Lanka with a mountain on his right palm and Moses may or may not have parted the Red Sea, but no one is using that as an excuse to blow people up. OTOH, Muslims are blowing non-Muslims up precisely because of what Allah presumably told Mohammed. That is the real gripe here and I`m sure you understand that.

Because those practices can be shown as ``religious``. When conflict arises between rigid and flexible, it is always the flexible which wins. Because they only are capable of thinking about unconventional methods of dealing with problems. Islam is rigid. Muslims are deluding themselves that they can solve their problems by not recognizing the plain fact that the source of their problems is their religion. They think that only weak and imperfect such as Hindus and Christians need to amend their religious beliefs.

Just as Satee was outlawed so will Islam be outlawed. As I said: transsex or disappear. Oops. Not transsex, transmute. Got it?

i agree muslims are lagging behind other communities, but there are other variables such as social class etc. i truely believe education is the answer.
to paraphrase the immortal words of civil rights leader king `` i`ve been to the mountain top and i`ve seen the promised land, i and you may not get there but we as a people will get there eventually and it will be through education.

Then why are you guys at pains to explain what the Koran says and does not say? Does it matter since you guys don`t have any evidence whatsoever to prove that it is God`s word?
