Thanks Ms.S.Jaywant for article was informational to me.
Off music families I appreciate very much the Gayaki from Kirana.
I have visited India few times and some body told me following story in India, has it any substance.
Mrs Gangubai Hangal ( leading light of Kirana Gayaki of yester years) she has different voice quite manly though it does not bother me. Some times in her young age due to illness some operation was performed on vocal cords and that changed from soft female to muscular deeper voice. As the person told `` Doctor made Gangubai to Gangubowa``. I personally do not believe it. I remember when taught some engineering retards( raskals do not pay all tution fees run to usa) about diff.Equations period/pitch-frequency depends on density of string and it can not be changed unless strings are replaced ( density) or if Tension of strings incteased ( tightened), increasing or decresing tension on vocal cord is possible or done? ( physicians can answer- Dr Sridher could have).
Mrs Hangal has good singing in Nand, Ramkali, Abhogi,Puriya Dhansri etc ( music indiaonlinedotcom) and its very pleasant and her daughter is giving saath and she has very sweet voice and great mastery. Wonder her Daughter was just dwarfed in recognition , its difficult to grow and given dues when one grows under great shadow.

I have heard Pt. Dastur, Pt Joshi and Gangubai all three kirana gayaks have grown very old and ailing. Mrs Hangal was recalling when teen age Ustad Abdul Karim Khan told her Kub Khana aur Khun Gana, and now neither. Felt little sad about year ago when read in review Pt Joshi has stopped singing as he started loosing notes and person who was giving saath had to break in to bring train on properline. Time is levellers and Lions also age and felt kirana Lion is also ageing and there is no decent epilogue.
I wish all three life as long as they want no more no less.

On other topic; You had mentioned on your response to ``protecting forests`` you wrote ambigiously - on following lines. ``If left to themselves things change and wrote one can not believe when you look at some national forests in India``. I did not understood what you want to say- are things are better or worse Now in India in above mentioned forest. I was going to ask at that time but at that time was suffering from my bout of depression. I will appereciate and will be grateful answering.
Sorry for request.
Good Summer to everybody...Good wishes . AM.

the moral of the story is -- should have listened to the pestering doc`s No smoking message -- yeah yeah I know I know -- I don wan to heer that crap again and again --

I had an asshole of a subborn patient who continued to smoke thru the stoma because ``duc you know dat I cannnnn`t stooooop smooookinnnn`` the tone generator vibrated...

don`t smoke folks don`t -- otherwise the author will have to write another grisely stroy about how to remove the mediastinal glands from the chest and about the thrills of lobectomy -- if not about the joy of lobotomy....in braindead smokers who say : no way -- if I stop smoking I gain weight.....!

Even for the illitrate speech is the quickest means of communication.....the only thing about this article was that it was a window to the life of someone troubled.....not sure if people want such windows.....
