... salim chauhan`s racism needs to be stopped now by chowk administration...he has been dissing 65 million pakistani punjabis day-in day-out without reason or rhyme...it`s time some realism and even handedness is shown by the administrators of this site...if they continue to ignore our protests then they might just name it mohajir chowk and be done with it , most of the punjabis will leave you in peace instead of boasting about all those lofty ideals... personally i find the owners and editors of chowk hypocrites and liars who constantly violate the chowk guidelines they so proudly throw in your face...

Shah Sahib,
Your enthusiasm and positive attitude are truly inspiring. I wish I could share your sentiments and optimism. Unfortunately, what I witnessed as a young boy, growing up in KHI, prevents me from considering Paki Punjus as compatriots. What is even more discouraging is the continuation of their selfish attitude and blatant prejudice even after the gruesome occupation and mindless destruction of our wonderful city. I detest the Israelis for what they have done to Beirut; I resent the US for its actions in Baghdad; just as I loathe the Paki Punjus for what they did to Karachi. It is one thing to hope for cooperation and tolerance - it is another thing to suffer from your own countrymen`s selfishness and oppression. Maybe your spirit will prevail and these accursed and violent people will see the evil of their ways. In any case, your ``experiment`` is an example for the rest of us. Thanks.

Burpy bhaiyya, if you put 2 cats - India and Pakistan - in a room, you will always have a catfight. :-)

Yeh baat kuchh hajam nahi ho rahi. There are many things missing in your write up or you have made those up. Actually, it is still not clear if it is reality or fiction. And then getting 25000 per person for strategic guidance from day one? Maamla garhbarh hai.
Still, if it is true then great job and keep it up.
Best of Luck for all future venture.

There are enough and more ways of making a lot of money legally.
There are not so many ways of making it legally AND fast. But a few I can think of are cashing in on any booms that may be around, e.g. the dotcom boom when people sold websites for millions of dollars based on an Excel sheet euphemstically referred to as a ``business plan``.
However it seems highly unlikely that somebody with (practicallY) no money, no experience and seemingly no bright ideas other than talking down to the lower classes, achieved all this. Even ass-u-ming he did, there is no justification for that person ridiculing expatriates who work hard and strive for a better life for themselves and their loved ones as slaves and lackeys.
You play the cards you`re dealt. Some of us are lucky enough to live in the country we love and make a good living. Others compromise by trading off the unease of living on alien shores for material gain. There`s nothing to judge here.
Being in a situation lately where I`m having to rethink my own ``comfortable`` choices, such glib and seemingly gleeful generalisations especially sting. I`d urge the author to be comfortable in his own choices and let others make them as they will.
ranjit, bravo! Nice to know that my fears that a nothing piece like this couldn`t be converted into an India-Pak catfight were unfounded!

The first sentence is so beautiful. The story (embellished or not) is inspiring.

I said: If X then Y. I did not say ``X`` is true.
Sorry I do not see which part is ludicrous.
Author of the article seems to make it sound as if ``X`` is true.

[...The whole of Pakistan AND India respects them to this day. We need that feeling in every person in both countries....]
It is a pleasure to find someone who has such an optimistic and positive attitude to life. It is rare in South Asia and particularly in Pakistan.
As an Indian, I hope such an attitude spreads all over Pakistan. If only all Pakistanis were like you and focused on development and prosperity in their own life rather than bother us Indians all the time about religion, jihad, terrorism, Kashmir and other such issues.

[...If there exists a business which every one can do and which earns at above average return rate with a zero probability of failure...]
This is a ludicrous argument. Obviously there is no free lunch anywhere in the world. Whether it is an innovative business model or a specialized job, you need to add your own unique contribution to it in order to succeed. Thats what separates winners from losers. It is not some routine clerical task that anyone can conduct by rote.

Success stories like this are rare. If you take the universe of startups and then try to find out how many survived and how many earned average returns, how many less than average and how many above average. Only a minor subset of startups survive beyond few months. Entire universe of startups which were ever imagined but were never ever tried is bound to be even a larger set. True context of evaluation of business environment of a country is that. How come you did not jump into the first random business idea that came to your mind? Instead you decided to ``just observe society`` for 3 months before doing anything.
Also there are things in your situation which are peculiar to you. You had a supportive friend who lent you 50 grand. You had a supportive mother who had a property at clifton. And you had a circle of friends who probably did word of mouth advertising for you and who probably brought first client(s) to you. In #53 You say that: ``I used to meet that many [40] people in less than a week``. So you are gregarious (or you are giving free lunch as part of your business strategy). And of these 40 people how many are capable and willing to throw 25 grand at you?
In 6 months time you had a million rupee plus business. In 6 months there are 26 weeks. You can meet more than 40 people in a week. So you meet more than a thousand in 6 mo time. Of this 40 were converted to paying customers. So rate of a person who meets you capable of converting into a paying customer is 4 percent. This person has to throw you 25G and also have some financial muscle to pull off an ``expansion`` into Pakistan of whatever he already is doing in say Saudi or US or Timbaktu. So you meet may be 1000 people over 6 months and make a million by converting a subset of these into your paying clients and so you must be already surrounded by super rich people. About 4 percent of these are convertible into your customers. Based on this is it realistic to think that any tom, dick and harry of Karachi would also be capable of making a million in 6 mo?
If there exists a business which every one can do and which earns at above average return rate with a zero probability of failure then soon there will a rush of people and return rate will be pulled down to average or probability of failure will become non-zero. You should read Monish Pabrai`s writings to understand what I am saying.

La La - land is sooo nice for pukis. all of them should migrate there. And then stay there too.
Here is some more information for the madarc*d sekulars.
A book that`s quietly being distributed within Norway`s Muslim community refers to Norwegians as the sons of Satan. The book, written by an anonymous author, has been turned over to police by Oslo`s Anti-Racism Center.

URSTRULY.. ever been in business? You think making a million Rupees.. 10 lakh.. is a big deal??? LOOOL. Allah ka naam lo yar. Divide 10 lakh.. 1000000 by 25000 : 40.. that just 40 people paying 25000 each. I used to meet that many people in less than a week. And dont tell me you think 25000 Rs is a HUGE amount too? Change your perception of money.
