As a muslim, I believe in the sovereignty of Allah (swt) on earth, actually on the Universe.
Remember, He is the creator of the Universe. There is no compulsion in Islam and those
who defy His laws will be punished by Him, when time comes. No one is asking anybody
to convert to Islam. Islam teaches us to respect other religions.

Since when Fazl rehamn is Taliban? He is/was a legitimate political leader-corrupt maybe- in Pakistan politics long before Taliban ever came on the scene. His party was a coalition partner with the most secular party (NAP) in Pakistan in both NWFP and Balochistan in 1972.

I am an indian-born canadian muslim, now living in India. I have read 125 interacts so far. If I wait to interact after reading all the interacts, it might be too late. So here is my interact, with the hope that no one will shoot me by not agreeing with me.

I believe that terrorists are human and that they are acting in inhuman way due to their
foolishness and helplessness. I am not in any way, condoning their inhuman actions.
Just cursing them is not enough.

I am wondering if it is possible to bring the two sides, the leaders of the terrorists and those
against whom they have grievances, together under the auspices of the United Nations and
try to find a solution to the problem. This sounds very simple, but difficult to put into
action. Nothing is impossible.

Think about it - the guy who bombed a railway station in varanasi[or somewhere] last year said that the reason for him was that the station building arcitecture resembled a hindu temple... so he bombed it...

When you get together with these guys - what exactly are you going to talk to them?... what are you going to offer? what can they give you in return?....

these people are running on islamic ideologies - which has completely taken over their being - like some ancient virus, it has eaten away their capacity to think.... there is no civilzed way to deal with them...

Fazlur Rehman `brokered` a compromise in Waziristan- sthing like the Taliban would get a free hand and in exchange it would stop attacking the Pak Army. The other quid pro quo is - in exchange for Pak Army support for the Taliban, Fazlur Rehman is refusing to denounce Mushy`s uniform or Presidentship or reelection. This has been pointed out in many places including in Pakistani press itself and the so-called outrage on this thread is completely and totally fake.

Paki Army excels in this game. We have seen it in Karachi when Army funded altaf hussein to stir up trouble against BB`s government`88 - once altaf joined isi backed opposition in the parliament. Then the same army took some mqm guys out to split mqm into two. They gave altaf group hell during mid 90s with killings and torture while the other gang of murderers - haqiqi terrorized areas in karachi with their full backing. Now, the same army has mqm altaf on their side.

So, it is not surprising to see pakistani army doing various deals with taliban, their tribal supporters and baloch sardars if and when it suits them.

The world is however not confined to posters on chowk.com and the Taliban is a very real problem for Pakistan and Afghanistan. But what becomes clear on such occasions is that no one, absolutely no one can fool themselves that dishonest unprincipled Pakistanis like you are ever going to be part of any solution, either with respect to the LeT or with respect to the Taliban. The article in thebulletin is another example of lunatic writing stuff on the net and another set of crazies believing them.

That article defies all logic. The author claims that “The evidence of this connection is abundant: Taliban leaders strut openly around Quetta, Pakistan, where they are provided with offices and government-issued weapons authorization cards; Pakistani army officers are detailed to Taliban training camps; and Pakistani border guards constantly wave self-proclaimed Taliban through checkpoints into Afghanistan.”

This article was published in April/mar of 2006. Any idiot who reads newspapers would know that for the last one year or so the Pakistan army has been bombing Wazirstan almost weekly and nearly 80k Pak army personnel are out there to fight the Taliban/militant and its supporters. Pakistan has taken many causalities and the fight is real. But if we take this article seriously, then we find out just a few hundred miles south near Chaman, the same Pakistan army is training the same Taliban and militants that it is fighting in Waziristan, does that make sense at all?

The fun part starts when we find out the Pak army action in Waziristan is under the US pressure and support. But the Same US is so stupid that it allows the Pak army officers to be detailed to Taliban training camps just a few hundred miles south.

The US has been in Afghanistan for the last 4 ½ years and if it has failed to reign in the Taliban inside the Afghanistan, then who should take the blame for it? The US and the Karzai regime and not Pakistan.
