my condolences and deepest sympathies to any and all who might have suffered in these blasts, and to the friends and relatives of the ones who died in this tragedy. i hope the ones responsible get their just desserts, but more than that i wish this kind of atrocity would just stop.
regardless of which group takes responsibility, it is quite clear that the people behind these acts are inhuman.

My question to my Indian friends planning nuclear strikes on another sovereign country...
Has Pakistan`s culpability been proved?
Not that I can see.... but I ``unilaterally`` rescind my emotional words expressed in #36 ... after ``nuclear`` planning of our armchair generals living in NJ... I am beginning to get over whatever sadness I felt yesterday.

[...........the biggest problem with US`s war on terror was that it did not take in OBL because somehow they found oil to be more attractive.......]
The US did not take in OBL because he found sanctuary in Pakistan. The Pak army has been playing a masterful double game where it masquerades as a parter in the War on Terror on one hand while feeding the terror machinery behind the scenes. It provides full sanctuary to the Taliban and OBL because of which the Taliban are able to regroup and launch deadly attacks in Southern Afghanistan. At the same time, the Pakis indulge in some mock fighting in S. Waziristan to fool people that they are fighting terrorists. No one can verify their claims of fighting or casualties in S. Waziristan in any case.
This same double game is being played out in Kashmir. They talk to India, start buses and trucks but keep the jihadi fodder dry. The machinery for jihad is fully preserved in terms of infrastructure and training camps. The activities are carefully calibrated to continue causing damage to India while keeping its intensity low enough to avoid incurring the wrath of Bush.
The double game is being played with the Pak people too. The Pak army pretends to be liberal and enlightened enough to keep the Paki chattering classes happy and avoid political oppostiion. At the same time it carefully cultivates the mullah machinery, MMA etc by never instituting any real reforms of the Pak system.
This evil cannot be eliminated without first eliminating the Pak army.

Darling ,now you are talking senses.
I have stayed in Mumbai for five years-at Khar, Bandra and Santacruz. Now I am not staying in Mumbai but I often visit Mumbai--atleast thrice in a year.
The areas along western line towards the sea-shore are the most affluent ones and the eastern areas on western line are middle class-upper. The areas along Central Line are all lower middle class or poor areas. Bandra(West), Santacruz(West) etc. are all affluent areas though not as rich as Worli.
Now your comments:-
{First class compartments are relatively empty in non-peak hours, so it`s much easier for a bunch of mofo terrorists to sneak in and plant their RDX cocktails under seats, in fans or wherever the hell they planted them without being noticed.}
This is a non-starter. A Terrorist will not be an idiot that he will plant the bomb at 3:00 pm and blast it off at 6:30 pm. He must have left it in the first class compartment and got down at Bandra assuming it was a timed device. If it was a remote-controlled device, he must have got down at Bandra and boarded another compartment and pressed the button.
{I got irritated because you are obviously talking through your hat in #33. First of all, Worli is not a Western line station (it does not have a station at all). Secondly, Santacruz isn`t as affluent as you would believe. Thirdly, Central line carries MUCH more load than the Western line and its reach extends far beyond Western`s. }
So you thought I am a Pakistani???? Worli is not a station agreed-Mahalaxmi is the nearest one. I agree my mistake. Santacruz(West) is as affluent though S`Cruz(East) is not. Central Line carries much more load agreed but Bombay means Bombay when you are on the western line side. Otherwise, who bothers about Sion, Kurla, Chunabhatti, Darukhana etc.
{Finally, the fact that there were bombs on local trains is what`s important. Nobody asks, oh was it in a first class compartment? In that case, I am interested. You have no idea how Mumbai operates so don`t sit and posit theories smugly here on chowk. }
Local Trains appear to be specifically chosen. The intention was to get maximum publicity. Western Line was chosen because dead rich generate more publicity than dead poor.
{Now YOU get lost.}
Where? You have not told the place.

The main problem is that Mushy would like every body to believe that Dawood was not in Karachi and the LeT goons do not exist at all........................that is how the Commando creates the web of deceit in order to befuddle his opponent........I would really say that Mushy is the de-facto Jehadi leader of all the terror groups thriving in Pakistan............he only faces opposition from those splinter terror groups and the tribals who have gone out of his control and do not consider his as their supreme leader.............

Expressions of outrage and convictions of solidarity are meaningless at such moments. It is a very bitter reality, which measures the value of a response, when life has been lost. A tradedy like this can be either a statistic only to be summed up as an evitable progression of life`s sorrows or it can become a moment to reflect and ponder, on the value of life itself. Words, used to describe, the sense of loss are too futile and too limited to fully express the gravity of the loss suffered, because the loss does not include the dead but also those who loved and knew the dead and will now, have to piece together their asundered and torn lives and pretend to re-live normal lives.
There is a poem, which I keep in my drawer and which I read when events such as what happened in Mumbai happen. It was written a long time ago in a very different context, but it too talked about the loss of life and wondered if the end of so many lives was an empty gesture or whether the loss really mattered. We live in a very cynical age and in words of Siegfried Sasson, the world`s gagged days will pass and no one will bother to ask, ``do you remember?`` We will not remember and we will rejoin the caravan of life till another day, some where else, another event will remind us and prod us, with the same question. The dead will still be dead and they will be joined by others, who would have died as a result of our moral ineptitude and apathy.
The dead should be grieved and but the greatest tribute to their memory will not come from rememberances of their sacrifice, but from our own resolve to ensure that the dead did not die in vain. The task ahead is not one of revenge or avenging a wrong, but to finish the work by deciding what we wish to believe in; for the time of half-truths and undecided opinions is fast approaching its final end. We are engaged in a battle, where no quarter will be given or asked for and the finality of this battle is nothing less than the total ceasation of those, who resist humanity and progress and tolerance and respect for others. In this battle, the foe that confronts us must not be accorded humanity and must not be shown tolerance and it is time, people need to make up their minds which side of the equation they wish to be remembered. The barricades had been piled up a long time ago and now, with the beast at the door, the barricades have to be manned and defended.
The call, which should go forth from Mumbai should not be one of revenge, but one of retribution.
Ciao

I would repeat again.....that Indian government must take Mushy`s bluff and NOT come to any negotiating tables........they should INSIST that democracy return to Pakistan before they can talk to Pakistan`s civilian government . They should also informally invite BB or NS for talks on restoration of democracy in Pakistan and pile up more forces on the western sector.

The fact that Pakis are calling for the resolution of the Kashmir issue less than a day after the blasts and the perfunctory condemnation by both Mushy and the HuM indicates that this is a pressure tactic aimed at intimidating the Indian government into coming to the negotiating table in order to avoid further incidents.
And some Pakis are still wondering if Pakistan`s culpability has been proved. Talk about the head being buried in the sand.

Excerpt:
``After condemning the Mumbai train blasts, Pakistan has said the `best way` of dealing with extremism in South Asia is to tackle `real issue` of Jammu and Kashmir.``

Absolutely right!! Mushy is taking full advantage of the low IQ Bush who canot see through this cunning double game. Talk about ``Munh me Ram Ram, Bagal mein Churi``!! Mushy is practicing it with unmatched finesse.
On a side note, this tragic event does have a bright lining. While its intention may have been to cause communal violence, it may have the exact opposite effct. It can bring IMs even closer to the national mainstream and bridge the communal chasm in India. The revulsion resulting from this incident should be leveraged to destroy groups like SIMI that are working to support jihadis. IMs are now seeing the destructive influence of extreme communal and fundo forces and can make a conscious choice between good and evil.

A good one or rather a healthy one.
Look, the finger points towards the Islamic Groups. Not that India does not have its own groups--they are there in North-east, some Sikh Groups, Maoists and others. But so far indigenous groups have not shown this much expertise and wherewithal to carry out such an operation.
So far the attacks we have faced in India--other than Kashmir
always had some explanation. 1993 Blasts had Babri Masjid/Bombay Riots; Akshardham had Gujarat so on and so forth. These Mumbai attacks are completely unprovoked. There are many theories doing round here; some of them are :-
1. This is the price for cosying up with USA.
2. India is now being seen as US arm in this region so it qualifies itself for full-fledged Jehad.
3. These are attempts to incite wide spread Hindu-Muslim riots.
4. Elections in UP are getting closer so political parties are sharpening their daggers.
5. Though Lashkar-e-Taiba and Pakistan are being mentioned but no specific reasons are being attached.
But may be its a coincidence that the train blast near Bandra, was at a place where a Mosque is there on one side of the railway line and on the other side is a Muslim Basti, I think called Kherwadi. The intention,amongst others, also appear to be to incite Hindu-Muslim Riots in Mumbai.

[.... I am beginning to get over whatever sadness I felt yesterday....]
Yeah right!! Keep your crocodile tears to yourself. You and your cohorts in the Paki establishment had a collective orgasm yesterday as you enjoyed seeing huge numbers of hindus die, that too in India`s financial capital. The icing on the cake was to damage India`s economic growth by showing the world that it is an unstable place, hoping that it would impact the FDI flows.
Just because Bush is dumb and you guys can con him, does not mean that you can con Indians as well. We can see through you guys. Thats why India will never concede anything to Pakistan, whether it is Siachen, Sircreek, Wullar, let alone Kashmir. Go ahead and send 1000 more jihadies. We will never, ever give in to you. Indians will fight you guys to death before giving an inch of land to Pakistan.

Thanks for the link. It makes things much clearer about the way the Pakistani establishment is gloating over its success in executing this terror attack successfully!!
``...........When you have an improvement in the atmosphere that is the time you should strike when the iron is hot,`` Kasuri remarked in response to a query.
We have to analyse this statement of Kasuri.........he says ``When you have an improvement in the atmosphere``- what he means is that after the terror attacks the Indian Government are under pressure from the civilian population and succumb to the demands for the kashmiri land from their supreme Jehadi leader Mushy - what he means is that the situation for negotation has ``improved`` for THEM after their successful terror attack on the Indian civilians!!
So he talks about ``striking when the iron is hot`` thereby implying that now that Indians are terrorised by the attacks they would probably be more inclined to give away the Kashmiri land to them!!!
Do they think that the Indians are idiots??

[For centuries, hindus have been providing non-stop human sacrifice on the altar of islam.]
really? which history books have you been studying?
[Whenever muslims are bored and want to have some fun, they come over to India and kill hindus.]
indeed. i must confess that i was not aware of any such `safari service` available in India. this must be peak season for this particular...uh...sport, then? but that would still not explain why non-Hindus were also killed.
[As a bonus, they also get some brownie points with Allah.]
well, that shows how much YOU know about Islam.
[Just like an abusive spouse blaming the victim for provoking him to hit the victim.]
ah, so you watch a lot of soap operas as well. ironic, because in this venomous `call to arms` of yours, you are doing the exact same thing.
[Hell knows we have enough population to spare a few thousand.]
interesting choice of words, as it implies that all Indians (specifically Hindus, since you were talking about sending Hindus as sacrificial fodder) go to Hell after death.
[Sheesh...what a nation of hijras we are.]
i truly hope that you were referring to members of your own community, and not Indians in general, because i know of enough decent, upstanding, and brave Indians to label them with such derogatory terms as `hijra`. of course, if you WERE addressing brethren (or is it sisterhood?) of yours, i meant no disrespect at all.
it`s sad how tragic events bring out so many hate-mongers...when what we really need is a bit more peace and love among us.

``Minister Khurshid Mahmoud Kasuri, however, said not much progress has been made on Kashmir problem.
``If you look at it positively, there has been more progress in the second round than in the first round. But on the issue of Jammu and Kashmir we have not made much progress. There have been some confidence-building measures but even those are half-hearted,`` he said.
Kasuri clearly states that the Paki establishment (= Mushy, the Jehadi master) is not happy with the negotiations ........
but now (after the terror attacks) the ``iron is hot``!!!!
I know now he is going to get the LeT goons to call on behalf on some unknown Jehadi group claiming for the attacks.................a very predictable scheme to distract attention away from his complicity..............

Musharaff is playing a deadly double game with America. It is not that americans do not know it, but why they are letting him play is strange. May be Mushy has convinced the americans that they have no other way except him.
But there may be Mushy`s hand behind Mumbai blasts--who knows. There were some reports in Pakistani Media(quoting an India media) that America & its European Allies are seriously thinking of involving India(Indian armed forces) in Afganistan. The reason is Karzai is fed up with Pakistani intervention/support to Taliban and wants to use Indian forces to fix them up. American/European forces are not very effective in Tribal areas because they do not get much support (intelligence or otherwise) and Pakistani forces do nothing.
This may be a flight in the dark but who knows???
