I think your attempt to discuss this issue with Indians is ridiculous. Historically, The Indians and specially the current Indians were/are a bit player in International affairs or were/are mere fellow travelers, so they don’t understand the historic context of the issues involved.
They can only regurgitate what they read in the newspapers and are not capable of a serious discussion on subject.
I hope you understand.

Re: # 127
zeemax,
good question, but the answer is obvious ...... the hezbollah does not consist of easily identifiable combatants - it is the entire shia muslim population that lives in southern lebanon ..... the only way israel can clean out that rat`s nest is to occupy the south indefinitely (and maybe even the whole country) .......... but it might be a very very long occupation because this war will end only when islam has been completely vanquished ............

On the conversation b/w tahmed and zeemax. The right of return to the new Palestinian state that would be created is not the cause of controversy:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3629923.stm
The Palestinians have long asserted that the refugees have a moral and legal right to return to what was once Palestine - including land which is now Israel.
....
In his statement, Mr Bush said that once a Palestinian state is created it should provide space for the Palestinian returnees:
``A solution to the Palestinian refugee issue as part of any final status agreement will need to be found through the establishment of a Palestinian state and the settling of Palestinian refugees there, rather than in Israel,`` he said.
But to many Palestinians, the right to return is an inalienable basic human right to each individual refugee, and is therefore not for Palestinian negotiators - or anyone else - to bargain with.

#133 how come its 57 and 93 but not 56.5 and 92.5!
somehow I get the feeling that this is a repeat of WW-II which cooled the martial races of germany and Japan. A similar thing is happening to the martial ardour our friends.

Yes I did. Come to think of it, what you say ``they don’t understand the historic context of the issues involved.``, it is so true. But what`s wrong with Hamidm?

Hamidm, is 18 years long enough for you?
Please respond. Thanks.

hp,
...... no, i don`t think 18 years is long enough .......... look, this war is between recidivist islam and modernity and is much bigger than the palestinian/isreali issue .......... israel just happens to be on the front line as is india ....... it would have been better if people like you and i, the so-called moderate muslims, were to stand up to our own demons; but since we are not willing or able to do it the rest of the world cannot, and should not, run the risk of these barbaric forces running amok ........... actually, we are the real culprits in this sordid affair ..........
...... now that i have admitted my guilt i am off to the bar to atone for my sins, while the rest of the ummah heads off to juma prayers to pray for the destruction of the zionist entity ............

The post#136 was from me and not HP, though I defer to HPs tremendous intellect. I can see you are getting a bit confused.
You said the only way israel can clean out that rat`s nest is to occupy the south indefinitely (and maybe even the whole country) .......... but it might be a very very long occupation
My simple question was that if Israel couldn`t tackle Hizballah in 18 tears of occupation of the whole country of Lebanon, what reason do you have to believe Israel can do it now?
But never mind. Enjoy your drink. In the meantime we`ll fight our own wars.

Question to right-wing fundo whacko Sunni Wahabbi types - Will Israeli Jews go to heaven for killing Shias in Lebanon? And if yes, will they obtain their 72 Hebe houris from the quota reserved for Sunni Suicide Bombers?
According to some Sunnis, including one on Chowk, killing of Shias is justifiable. Also, AlKayda in Afghanistan had issued a fatwa authorizing killing of Shias and issuing free passes to paradise for the act. Suicidal Sunnis in Karachi, Quetta, Afghanistan, Baghdad, and elsewhere are lining up to blow themselves up to kill as many Shias as possible. There might even be a shortage of houris in paradise to this outpouring of Sunni piety.
Also, Tally Ban in Afaghanistan had issued another fatwa justifying the rape of Shia women with paradise as a reward for this pious fornication. Does the act of masturbating against her will qualify a Shia woman to go to paradise? Will a Shia committing suicide qualify for paradise because he has killed a Shia?
The hatred for Shias is so intense that the right-wing whacko fundo Wahabbi Sunni kingdom of Soodi Arabia has blamed the Hizbollah in favor of Israel and the Emir of Kuwait basically supported Israel.
Israel in Lebanon has killed far far fewer Shias than the Saudis, the Pakis, the Tally Ban, AlKayda, and the Iraqi Sunnis.

[....Palestinians are such kind of people. They will only live in dignity, in all fairness and justice, or not at all....]
Well - recently jews vacated gaza settlements and handed over the land to palis.... guess what happened?.... instead of putting the land up for good use - palis are fighting and killing each other over that land.... hamas and PLO don`t get along very well....
So palis [and most other muslim communities] only know how to whine and talk big about ``justice`` and cr@p... given a chance they will rather kill each other than live in peace... same with muslims in iraq, iraq-iran, pakistan and elsewhere.... shias killing sunnis, sunnis killings shias, turks killing kurds, iranis killing iraqis, everybody kills ahmedis...
Justice, fairness, dignity?.... yeah, right!!!

if you bedouins and wannabe-bedouins ``understand the historic context of the issues`` so very well - then why are you guys so f**ed up? :)))).... Since you guys understand everything so well - all you ahve to do is just solve the middle-east ``crisis`` and get on with your lives... right?

zee,
..... i answered your question - 18 years was not enough unless when you leave there are no more rats and other critters left ............. i know this sounds callous, but it would be a mistake for isreal to cut any kind of `deal` with hezbollah ..... remember hudaibiya ? .... think of how differnt the world would have been today if the meccans had won ...... damn !

mohar:
the problem with these racist pakistanis is that they dont realise that in their infantile attmepts at putting down indians - they by implication sink even deeper into their verbal muck. After all, they surrendered and begged for dear life from these very same ``stupid`` indians in 1971.
