HP,
I know Bombay. It was a big city. Swastik is part of North Indian culture but promoting Hitler name is an offence in Europe.
It`s distasteful of the Bombay hotelier. It stinks.
If possibel pl watch Mohammed Kutty `Hitler`.

Dear old Khasi,
pl control your orgasm. Reserve for your bedroom. There`s one scholar `ana` had to say about you :
..... and the reactions of HP have made this page a chowk of a slum where triffles are more important than the intellectual issues.
This sums up your mind..
So stop your Khasi mentality Khasi Uncle.......

Thanks for your kind words.
You know, these are not really cracks in the Islamic argument. These are just two perceptions of the state of the Muslim condition from two different perspectives. Both are Islamic.
Islam means Peace in times of peace, moderation when feasible, and war in times of war. It is nowhere a religion of passivity. Bin Laden`s global Jihad is in accordance with his perception that unless the great infidel empires along with their minions in Muslim States are defeated, there can be no security for Islam, perhaps on lines of the great Umar. The Shia Hazballah/Iran however has a perception of survival at all costs within its boundaries, perhaps due to the traumatic memory of the incredible massacre at Karbala which is still the fulcrum of Shia thought process. That massacre almost entirely wiped out the lineage of the holy prophet of Islam.
In a nutshell, the Bin Ladens have an aggressive posture, while the Hazballahs a purely defensive one. Both are however well within the overall parameters of Jihad provided by Islam.
What, however, is NOT in the parameters of Islam are the so termed `moderates` who shrug away the aggression of the occupiers and propogate silent acquiescence, or even blame the victim.
To have peace, the west should engage with the `defensive` perceptions in Muslims to isolate the aggressive ones, and not paint everyone with a wide brush. The mistake they are making is they are encouraging their own version of Islam through the `moderates` which does not exist.
But then again, perhaps you are right in saying that the west does not want to understand.

Khasi Uncle HP,
You can have sound sleep tonight. The Hitler Cross is going to change it`s name.
>>>>``There is no point hurting the sentiments of a particular community over the name of a restaurant. We have decided to change its name and a new name will be announced in two days,`` Shakir Siddiqui, a partner in the restaurant at Kharghar in the satellite town of Navi Mumbai, told PTI.<<<<

Re: # 231
VRV , it is a real restaurant in Bombay. HP has done nothing to embellish. The point is that World War II history is not really important in that average Indian hotielier`s (or for that matter anybody`s) context. It`s a place to eat. Probably a pot-pourri of Indian food. They are not likely to serve bratwurst, and sauerkraut there or even challah bread.

Warrier,
I find this distasteful but the glow sign-board looks cut....
You know one movie of Mohammed Kutty (Mammotty) `Hitler` in Malayalam. It`s about a strict elder brother? Hitler is more of a metaphor in our part of India, though they teach about him as a monumental beast of gigantic proportions in our school books...
Some here get orgasm looking at such distasteful boards in India.

The restaurant was opened last Friday. It`s a stupid theme place. You may as well ban Hogan`s Heroes from TV for showing Colonel Klink, or Stanley Kubrick`s ``Eyes wide shut`` for having a sloka from the Gita in the background during an orgy. Personally I think people are getting too bloody sensitive.
