To whomsoever it may concern
Arjun`s last post (almurkid) was the photo of Dhaka surrender. It was posted at my request for the photograph of Maj Gen Jacob, the Indian Jew who led Indian troops in east Pakistan. No sooner than the photo was published, Almurkid was killed in one stroke by Chowk staff......My earlier misconceptions about his site were found to be true.
The mythology in Pakistan was that Pakistan won the war in Dhaka. A big picture of the surrender would go counter to that mythology in Pakistan OR Was it too inconvenient to watch the photo that reflects the truth of Dhaka? Was it considered as an insult to the manhood of Pakistanis? I dont know why the photo was abusive or objectionable except that it portrayed the `surrender` of Pakistn to Indian forces.
I can concur with views expressed by many that Arjun`s posts were aggressive but compared with some posts in the last weeks, they were very mild. Were his posts bugging some editorial staff?
No idea.
The soothsayers eg. Zee, Echo and Khasi Uncle identified Almurkid as Arjun. How? They simulteneosuly celebrated and went backstage after uncorking champagne bottle after the demise of the account.
Any answers?
We are aware of the predilections of some spin doctors here & that of some site-staff.
I am trying from my PC but cudn`t. Can somebody reproduce the same photo from?
http://www.bharat-rakshak.com/LAND-FORCES/Army/Images/0042.jpg
and ask yourselves and others if the photo is offensive?

Space on Chowk must be respected. Anyone who does not respect it does not belong here.
And what about the several posts from you on another board where you used the filthiest possible language against Hamidm2 and Godot? I presume you thought you were respecting Chowk space. Show me one post where Arjun has used the kind of language that you did.

Raw_Dust (#312),
Associating supernatural with Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) is not limited to a few schools of Islam thought. Such ideas are to be found in a great majority of Islamic schools of thought.
These ideas, while irrelevant to you personally, are important in understanding the mindset of wide-eyed jihadis who preach “Nizam-e-Mustafa”. This is further evidenced by ullema’s insistence on killing apostates. Unfortunately, this view is not from a lunatic branch of Islam, but echoes view of great majority of Islamic schools.
This is one of the basic issues that masadi often overlooks, i.e. ummah’s own views, which have cultivated a culture of fanaticism and violence in the name of Islam.
Urstruly MiaN (#326),
None of your posts on Islamic system have made any sense (and there were thousands of them …). Your views are based on hatred, prejudices, violent tendencies, and blind faith … and fail to hold up against even a rudimentary scrutiny.

let me add my 2 cents to this question: neither horses nor tanks could render the world inhabitable - but nuclear weapons can. economic activity of man in the past could not render the world inhabitable - today it can. mankind no longer has the luxury of acting in irrational ways and getting away with it.

Raw_dust,
I think there is time. I don`t think all of it is black that black. There are still humanists who believe in Allah and who may break bread with people who don`t believe in their version.
GT
Luther was willing to exchange the Pope`s tyranny and lust for his own bigoted (by our standards) beliefs. He wasn`t too complimentary to the Jews either. But it is a start. Just as the Magna Carta on enshrined the rights of the barons and not the common serf. But we do talk of it as the start of a different era and the end of the divine right of Kings.

The psychology is simple -
after siphoning out whatever little brain matter they have, the skull is stuffed with fanaticism by kanjars who are cowards of the lowest form (mullas barking from the pulpits), and can`t fight for themselves even if their lives and honor depended on it.
Turkey monitors these mullas well.....no problem there.....

#339 rawdust ``Their ability of figuring out modern technology with bare minimums to create maximum havoc and the time it takes for them to do it is the schedule we are to abide by.``
raw-dust bhai, if that is your worry, then worry not :) ``modern technology`` is a relative term. there was modern technology back in pre-historic times too - it was called `horse`. The people who used horses in battles prevailed over those who did not. It was thought at that time that those ``horse people`` could conquer the whole world. But then others figured out how to domesticate horses for war purposes as well.
Then we had the ultimate ``modern technology`` in middle ages - the gun powder. Those with gun powder were thought to be invincible, until other groups acquired that technology as well. In fact I would argue that spread of war technology in all eras has created deterrents and has been a strong force for establishing peace.
So humanity has lived and even thrived through all these high technology war machines. This current nuclear threat is just another one. This technology maybe new, but the battle is old. The battle being: how a group who has the killer technology of the day prevents others from having it. But it is a only a matter of time that others will possess it. And then, like all other times in history, we will move on to the next killer app :)
So once again, I suggest that you dont panic by using phrases like ``we dont have time``. We have time. Plenty of it. Despite what evangelicals say, Jesus is not itching to make his second coming by 2008 :)

#333 Raw_Dust and #332 swarrier:
I do not know how long this is going to take. But you would agree with me that protestantism is what brought forth democracies in the Western world. But here is what the father of protestantism, Luther, wrote in 1524. In his pamphlet ``Against the Murdering Hordes of Peasants`` he said:
princes should ``knock down, strangle and stab ... Such wonderful times are these that a prince can merit heaven better with bloodshed than another with prayer.``
The musings of a person whose ideas lead to democracy and the downfall of princes. The world is not linear.

malik99:
maybe your question about schedule was rhetorical. But we are constrained by people who throw acid on women`s faces, tear down legislation to modify hudood ordinances, maintain vigilante groups/paramilitaries and keep entire societies hostage in the name of Islam.

Re #334
Pakistan`s great poet Iqbal says:
Yeh aik sijda jisse tu Gir`aan Samajhta hay
Hazaar Sijdoan se aadmee ko deta hay nijaat
something like: This one prostration (in front of allah) that you consider too much rids you of thousand others.
It`s important to surrender yourself completely and follow Allah`s commands. This is ofcourse easy when you dont have to be accounted for your actions and have to make decisions on your own every single time. Follow God`s injunctions, surrender yourself and the mirage of freedom is there to be had.
