This exactly why you pakis are so pathetic :) ... so what muslims will continue to exist elsewhere - you pakis as a people will be wiped out - right?... I mean - what difference does it make to you pakis if a bunch of bedouins lived on in arid sands of arabia?...
This is what is the problem with you pakis... you bedouin-worshippers have brain-washed yourselves so much so that you have no pride in yourselves as pakis, no pride in your culture, society, landmass and who you are and where you come from... always ready to sacrifice yourselves at the altar of ummah delusions... even though ummah gives no hoots about you l0sers...
no wonder you guys are so f***ed up...:).. always killing each other on slightest pretext... a million bangalis here, a thousand biharis there, a bunch of muhjirs elsewhere... you guys have no national coherence, no positive raison-d-etre, no vision, no plans... no nothing... and it shows...

Re: # 108 by HP:
HP:
``You are right that maybe bread and butter is not the issue because it is not for an Arab-relatively well off- warrior so Jihadis don’t worry abt it.``
It would be wrong to see this Jihad as a purely Arabic affair. Indians, Pakistanis, Malays, Phillipinos etc. are also involved. For some folks from these countries economics ought to matter. Not that it does not, but what is interesting is that economics is largely missing from the rhetoric. At least at the macro level. At the micro level, small time leaders may very well be motivated by economic concerns or at least monetary payoff.
The Civil War or the Gandhian movement might also have lacked economic objectives, though not to the extent of the present Jihad. In any case, I am impressed by the ability of the present rhetoric to cut across class and intellect.
Finally, of course the fight is for political power. But unlike the Hamas, for example, the present Jihad is asking for a change in the political structure as well.
It would have been nice had the author also interracted here. He could have shed much more light on these issues. But I do understand his constraints. Actually, I am surprised that he chose to publish something in chowk .... or did he?

Mohar Bhayya,
What can I say? Her nonstop jingoism and perverted objectivity, along with shameless stupidity and general lack of knowledge and an obvious absense of common sense all compel me to scrutinize and question every aspect of her existence on Chowk. In this, my thoughts and support are dedicated to the young barrister from Lahore, who suffers incessantly at the naked aggression and thoughtless rhetoric of this so-called beast from the east. I must say he does know his bullfighting.

The Mamluks of Egypt despite desperate attempts on their part to negotiate peace.
I wonder where you got this. This is incorrect. There is no disagreement over the detail that Sultan Qutuz had rejected Hulagu`s demand of an unconditional surrender and had the Mongol envoys beheaded and their heads hung outside the city gates. No one had previously dared to do that with Mongol emissaries. Thereafter, Hulagu started preperations to invade Egypt and the Mamluks decided to take the war to the Mongol camp instead, completely destroying the Mongol army. ...``}
Since neither of us was there at the time, we are restricted to historical sources. And details in the sources differ. Check out any standard history reference book on the topic. Don’t just rely on internet postings.
Sultan Qutuz did execute the Mongol Ambassadors and thus committed himself to inevitable war, but that was only after his attempts at appeasement had failed. Hallaku Khan sent him a most insulting letter and “commanded” him to surrender… So the Sultan was basically left with no choice but to do as he did in order to not look like a coward. He had seen what happened to others so he decided to take the honorable course even though he knew it would mean certain destruction. But providence intervened, as it had several years earlier when the Mongol army had suddenly stopped and returned from the borders of present day Germany. (Then Chnagis Khan himself had died, and so Europe was saved. The Mongols had destroyed the mightiest combined army of European knights then and not a single soldier stood between the Mongols and the Atlantic Ocean.) Hallaku was forced to call off the campaign and return to the Mongol capital, Quarakorram, where the great council was meeting to elect the next Great Khan. His 300,000 strong army mostly returned with him. Only a token force of 20,000 was left behind. It was at this point that the Egyptian Sultan changed his tactics from defence to offence and took the initiative to attack the rump Mongol army. Qutuz never faced the full might and fury of Hallaku Khan’s 300,000 strong juggernaut. What he defeated was a 7% left-over force, but yet it was a true psychological turning point in western history. Right up there with Marathon, Salamis, Chalons and Tours.
As for your claim that no one before had dared to do that to a Mongol ambassador, you forget Kamil Muhammad, the emir of Mayyafarakin. He had Hallaku`s envoy crucifyed. Hallaku then destroyed his capital, killed every living thing, including horses, donkeys, goats, cows, cats and dogs. Pieces of emir Kamil`s skin were cut off, broiled over an open flame and force fed to him piece by piece until he died. What a charming fellow...!!
At any rate this issue is not germane to the topic at hand. BTW, have you seen Tony? He is visiting Karachi … Defense 4.

Re: # 103 sadna {``...I heard ex ISI chief Javed Nasir saying how he himself had his eyes fixed on `aakhirat`(`afterlife`) in all his stances while others who disagreed with him were more concerned with invalid temporal concerns...``}
Please do not take the senile Javed Nasir too seriously. While he may or may not always have been a nut case, he`s certainly out of it now. The poor man had a head injury and was hospitalised in a state of deep comma for over two months. This was right after retirement. Now he is often talking to spirits and angels while he`s alone in the room. This is direct from his wife, who, naturally, is quite concerned -- honest, no jokes.

Note: I have not read the article.
No, terrorism is not the monopoly of any one country. However:
(1) Pakistan appears to have a massive lead over the rest of the world in conducting acts of terrorism – it can beat every other country in the world.
(2) Pakistan’s whole rationale for existence appears to be based on terrorism – it was created for propagating Islamic terrorism and it LIVES for propagating Islamic terrorism, it appears to have no other purpose than to carry out such acts.
(3) This mindset appears to remain and it always was an extension of the mindset that created the country in the first place – the mindset of the world’s FIRST Islamic terrorist!
The vamp himself!
(4) Nobody believes Pakistani protestations to the contrary – because those lack sincerity, and Pakistanis have lied time and again on this issue – not even the Pakistanis believe those protestations themselves.

That`s odd because Javed Nasir was considered fit enough by the Pak government to be appointed head of the Pakistan Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee(PGPC) to look after admin. of Sikh shrines in Pakistan.

[...As a warrior of Islam and an active member of the Tablighi Jamat, he clearly thinks that the requirement of preserving Islam dictates the need to destroy India. ...]
If India`s adversary was either Afghanistan or Iran, this line of thinking would have concerned us. Those people have the brutality in them to launch nuclear wars. With Pakistan, it is all talk - a lot of hot air but basically a farce, a complete joke.
Pakistanis do not have the guts to take a pee without taking permission from Bush, let alone launch nukes. It took Colin Powell one phone call to make Musharraf do a strategic U-turn with Taliban. It took India a few weeks to kick out Pakis from Kargil, as Nawaz Sharif peed in his shalwar in Washington. We all know what happened in 1971. Heck, just the Sikhs in our country can take care of Pakistan, since they ruled it for 150 years.
The Pakis are your classical neighborhood bully who acts all tough with people weaker than him but is basically a sissy. Pakis end up torturing and killing their own people - bengalis, baluch, mohajirs etc. But when faced against Indian might - the combined sword of Rajputs, Sikhs, Marathas, Gurkhas, they run away with their tail between their legs.
