Urstruly,
You are dancing around the main issue here. You have failed to explain the following ahadith. Here you go once again …
Miracles of Prophet – based on ahadith
According to ahadith, the Prophet (pbuh) multiplied food and water. He made trees cry. Water flowed from his fingers. Earth would expel corpse of his enemy by continuously spitting it out. He flew from Mecca to Jerusalem, and back, during night … and even bodily ascended to heavens.
His companions were guided by magical lamps during night.
Then there is one about animals talking to people in his days (when you tried to explain this in post #124, you admitted to ullema’s views being shamefully superstitious!) ...
Click and scroll down … Miracles of Holy Prophet (pbuh)
+++
There’s more, but I’ll pause here for now. Your continued silence here speaks volumes on where your Islam went terribly wrong ...

Urstruly (#305),
On a side-note … I recall the debate you are referring to. Mirza Sahib called his opponents “zurayatul-bhagiya”, an Arabic idiom suggesting “those without guidance”. You mixed up references and claimed that he called his opponents “Children of prostitutes”.
I corrected your reference and cited several Arabic sources to correct your interpretation. You failed to make your point and ended the debate by stating … ” (sattar) The issue of of baghiya ain`t over yet. Don`t even think that you are off the hook yet…”
That was the last I heard from you on this. What changed since then?
+++
Your claims against Ahmadis are ill-founded and unsubstantiated. Several anti-Muslim groups make claims against Islam and its Prophet (pbuh). If you have a source, cite it. Otherwise your opinion is just that … an opinion without facts to back it up.
... more later ...

Daniel Pipes will have to run very hard and fast :)
http://www.spiegel.de/international/spiegel/0,1518,460364,00.html
The number of Germans who have converted to Islam has increased fourfold within one year -- despite the negative perception of Islam among the general public.
Way to go! These people have absolutely no idea of the power and attraction of Islam. Even some on Chowk believe that one day Europe/UK will ``wake up`` and Islam will be put back in bottle.

You might find one fact interesting that I started my self-education from Danial Pearles website.
Thank you for your adulation but I think you are being too harsh on Muslim scholars. Sometimes, some of them do not understand their audience and they could use better discretion; but I think most of the people who are engaged in a debate and discourse with the West and rest of the world right now are all new like me. Some have problem with knowledgebase; some are still trying to understand the cultural nuances; some are struggling with rapport; almost all of us have to face stereotyping and bigotry on 24/7 basis; but despite all that our problems are miniscule as compared to what our Huzoor (pbuh) faced. I think in coming few years you will see a very refined and very coherent response emerging from this front. I find that the progress that has been made in the past five years - the worst five years for Muslims - is simply astounding. I do not know whether Allah has more tests in store for us or finally the time has come when He will shower his blessings for us, but in any case I pray that He keeps us steady and steadfast.

i think you are much better than most of the ``fiqihs``[islamic jusrists] around.
The thing i like about you most is that you are not like one of those modren apologists of islam.
you have got reason to prove your point,though i personaly disagree with you on certain issues but you are one of those rare islamic scholars who can argue there case logicaly.
I myself have been agnostic till couple of years back but now i firmly believe in islam.i have studied all the westren philosophical traditions ,i have found that they dont have any
answer to the age-old questions and the propblems of human beings.
All westren philosophical movements have failed to answer the question of existence.
when pseudo_intellectual from our part of the world follow westren philosophical movements to criticise our values ,it always remind me a verse;
mein huaa kafir ,to wo kafir muslamaan ho gaya.

Urstruly #314:
Earlier I pointed out several ahadith that did not make sense (post #112).
You admitted to ullema’s view being shamefully superstitious as you tried to explain the first hadith (#124). You did not attempt to explain the remaining ones. Refer to #112 for details. Then refer to #307 for more.
Look, Naqshbandi is being honest here … and admits to believing that water flowed from Prophet’s fingers, that Hazrat Issa still lives above the clouds in flesh and blood … and more.
Obviously you have trouble accepting your own ullema’s views …
+++
My position has been to fully accept only those ahadith that are consistent with teachings of Quran and historically verifiable. Simple statement … so no brackets needed.

Re: # 319
I was once like you. I grew up in a Muslim country where people have deep respect for all personalities of Islam or any other religion. No matter how low the upbringing people over there are usually tolerant of others belief and no one went out of the way to insult others revered personalities, in open.
Moving to West was an eye opening experience. Add to that the exposure to the internet. My first reaction was that of disbelief and anger. I couldn`t believe that people could be so cruel to each other and so intolerant of others beliefs. It was a mind boggling experince to know that Mr. or Ms. X with whom you spend so much time in real life harbor so much hatered and intolerance for the other in their hearts. I am ashamed to admit that I fell into this cesspool of malignance and putrid hatered for sometime. Meanwhile I started trying to educate myself. I found out that it is knowledge that gives enlightenment and not the information.
As I delved deeper into studying my religion (from others point of view) I found out the miracle that is built into it. Now I have regrets that I wasted half of my life not educating myself. I wish I had formal education in Qura`n and Hadith; no matter how hard I will try I will never fill up gap that was left in my life. I try to educate myself as much as possible and found out that our religion is the only ideology that gurantees perfect equality and equity not only among genders but among every human beings on this planet and the incredible part is that you do not have to be Muslim to benefit from that.
Having said that, it is a fact of life that human being is a diverse creature. No two humans think alike; and that is what raises us above other animals and organisms. Every ideology is portrayed as perfect and every ideology has its opposition. Therefore, Islam has its opposition too. People have maligned Prophets, if you look into the history, and even killed them even when they brought incredible miracles for their people. Most of the stories in Qura`n address just this issue. This is a fact of life. Now, I do not mind seeing people bad mouthing my religion. The number of those people who are accepting this religion as the only way of salvation is way more than those who bad mouth it or insult it.
Knowledge is the keyword.

i am sure you are not asking the literal meanings of the word.
i mean there are many anti islamic web sites around.they always quote hadiths about the status of women, sayings of the prophet[pbuh] about non-muslims, prophet[pbuh]`s personal life-etc to show how ``barbaric`` religion islam is.
dont you think that we have been careless in explaining these hadiths throughout the history?

being used and manipulated by the anti islamic elements around the globe to malign islam?
Dont you think islam has been maligned becuase of these ``hadiths``?

I think it would be nice and honest of Pervaizis to identify themselves as such first. It helps to understand the scholarship of the person and where he is comming from. I think the psychotic rants like many of interactors below are quite counter-productive, even for themselves.
